My hand had been immobile for about six weeks after the surgery to let things heal properly. Since I play guitar this all scared the crap out of me. Patty worked me hard, but it was all in the interest of healing. I wouldn't have had it any other way. And I can still play guitar, thanks to the great work my therapist did. I hope you never need the kind of physical therapy I did, but this is the place to go if you have to.

My mother was put in St Lukes Rehab in Spokane, Washington after suffering a stroke. She also had a…read moreurinary tract infection. She is 78 years old. She had to beg to get medication for it from a very indifferent doctor who had no compassion for her. She has neuropathy and it is difficult for her to walk. She has to press the intercom to get assistance to go to the bathroom and they make her wait a long time before someone will finally help her. She has to set off the alarm on her bed to finally get someone to pay attention. They staff is inpatient with her and tries to get her to do physical therapy that she is unable to do because of the neuropathy in her legs. When a tech came in to get blood, they did not have a tourniquet available, so they just kept jabbing her vein in her right arm until she was screaming in pain and left with bruises and a large lump in her arm. We let the nurse know and they couldn't care less. I sent an email to them to let them know of my mom's mistreatment there and they have not even bothered to respond. If you care about your loved ones, find a different therapy center

I recommend that if you're interested in Sun Ray Court, to stop yourself and loved one while you can.... And look up Sun Down Ranch or another place period.... It would for sure be worth a drive over the mountains to Western WA 5-7 hours away try Holman Recovery or any place except this place.... Counselors suck, criteria sucks, the food was awesome however, (thank you Tammy) Lisa Willms is a liar, the maintenance there is a joke, a client walked out one day and threw a brick through my bedroom window, It was left without a window up until I finally left the place this morning.... 3 weeks I went without a window in my room, maintenance gives me a blanket, a fucking blanket!!! to cover up the hole left by another inraged client that had enough BS and walked out, like 11 others did as well wile there in my 26 day "rehabilitation" at that place.... There is no music room it's a broken keyboard and one drum with a hole in it and no sticks or anything else for that matter, they lost my property and two bus passes with upwards of $70 dollars between them both with no explanation.... There's no "beautiful views" anywhere, there's no "weight room or library" completely outdated building 1 phone call a day, hardly leave to the park for therapeutic classes, a "walk" if we get one is 3 blocks up 2 over and 3 back up to our joke that they call Sun Ray Court.... They make you tell on each other wile there which causes Huge problems within the community there and incourage this "care front" system..... You know what I'm tired of typing..... Just save yourself a headache and go anywhere else..... At least someplace else you can come and visit your man...... Zero stars....... Smfh

Think carefully before using Spokane's Division of Vocational Rehabilitation at 1313 N…read more Atlantic, Suite 1000. With their offer of re-education I worked with DVR for two years, spending hundreds of hours and substantial personal money fulfilling all the tasks required of me. Yet, each time I was about to start the quarter they sabotaged it, forcing me to drop my classes at the last minute. After the fifth let down, I filed a formal complaint. Under the guise of meeting with me to fix the problem, they instead retaliated by taking away my entire funding. The tenor of the meeting was belittling and even included discriminatory statements. I am now hopelessly in debt because of DVR. Even the subsequent complaint process was a farce, with all the DVR personnel 'circling the wagons' against me, including the person supposedly representing my interests in the matter. It is shameful that an agency entrusted with helping the disabled would hurt us instead. It is also shameful that DVR would waste so much taxpayer money, knowing that there was no possible successful outcome. I feel a strong civic duty to warn potential clients, yet I must be careful. I am essentially blocked from suing for damages for fear of losing my food stamps. In a recent conversation with DVR personnel they pointed out that DVR's parent agency, DSHS, controls whether I get food stamps. This veiled threat fits well with DVR's established pattern of retribution. PS - If you do decide to take a chance with DVR, you should expect long stretches (3-6 weeks) of email 'radio silence', ironically during the most time-sensitive periods. Another maneuver that they used against me was to repeatedly refuse to let me see my own IPE (Individualized Plan for Employment). Then they used that as an excuse to close my case! You can also expect a fair amount of 'bureau-speak' and twisting of meaning: For example, I have found that 'moving forward' usually means 'going in circles'. And, after my complaint, the term was used to mean 'sweeping it under the rug'. I was often assured that DVR felt it was important for me to 'be heard', although that seemed to mean nothing at all. To simply pause while someone is speaking is not the same as listening. At one point I was offered mediation, but soon learned that there was zero compromise on DVR's side. I had to remind my 'advocate' that the word 'mediation' comes from the concept of meeting in the middle.

The Administrator is someone's puppet and his ability is lacking to say the least. Research him on the administrator website. The RDO works outside of her scope. She makes changes to nursing care plans, however, she does not have a nurses license. The kitchen staff is forced to work without air conditioning in the kitchen. They are expected to temp foods and keep them edible in this heat. Most of the nursing staff work very hard however, there are pictures of staff sleeping while they are on a one-to-one assignment with patients that fall. There are pictures of staff doing each other's hair while lights are going off and patients are waiting for help. Nursing management is forced to work the floor and then expected to do management things. There is mold in the walls , and it leaks onto the floor when pipes leak. There are pictures to substantiate this. Buckets are placed to catch water dripping from the ceiling when it rains. I do not recommend this facility. The facility is census driven and money is its priority. Patients often run out of items they need. Items are ordered, but orders are cut by corporate to save money. The hospital can offer you other alternatives for placement if you are needing rehabilitation care or your family is needing long-term care. Read the Google reviews before selecting any facility. This facility was Franklin Hills but the name was changed and new ownership signs put up in hopes that things would get better. You can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig! Beware of this place!!
