The best treat to get after dinner in Seaside! The staff are very helpful with the many options. Always get marshmallow on top of your shaved ice!

They were very friendly and had great service! We got ice cream and snow cones, which was perfect on a warm summer day! I'd definitely recommend stopping by here and giving them a try! I regret not getting shots of our treats.

My root beer snow cone

Tuesday afternoon, after walking around Seaside in some fairly intense heat, I decided to try Frost Bites, which I'd seen recommended and wanted something to cool me down, and I love the entire concept of the Airstream row of food trucks, as well as like to support local businesses. Overall, I was a bit overwhelmed. The woman who waited on me seemed very impatient, although I was the only customer, and frankly, a bit bored with my questions and the time I was taking to decide on a flavor (they have tons, so sue me, I'm a Libra and we can get like that sometimes when presented with too many choices apparently!) I ordered a small snow cone with the root beer flavoring. It was good, but not great, and was pretty darned expensive considering that it's shaved ice and some flavoring. I'll probably try them again on a future trip to the area and try another flavor, only because it really is the perfect "dessert" to cool you down on a hot day. Hopefully I'll land on a better flavor next time and have a server who is a bit friendly and accommodating.

Frost bites is the best place to get a snow cone, hands down! They are delicious, and the ice is basically powder!

Really large portions but a small does cost about $7. We were in line at least 45 minutes. It was just a snow cone nothing too special

Some of the best shaved ice I've ever had but some staff workers made it feel well um...less welcoming.

Decent. They charge a tacky dollar fee for using credit card - reminded me of cheap restaurants that charge for ice or refills

All you need is a credit card to act as a deposit on your affordable rental (three day rentals): $4 for new releases, $2 for everything else. They even have some movies for sale at really good prices. Also, the walls also have shelves with some fun toys that are unique and affordable. Upon entering the store you will encounter a sized candy table with lots of buckets full of candy. The options include typical candy bars and lots of buckets with taffy, gummies, etc. It's a great spot to grab something sweet. It's a great set up. The best part? In the back of the store is Mr. Funny Bones New Orleans style shaved ice...you know the kind, the snowball smooth ice! Even better is that the proprietor makes his own syrups using sugar and not corn stuff. This store is great for all those staying near by...and it's worth the drive for those staying a few miles out. The three day DVD rental makes it worth grabbing a few movies in one visit.

We ate outside on the deck. Started with cup shrimp etoufee - scoop of piping hot white rice covered with a nice New Orleans sauce. Shrimp were plentiful and tender. I could have eaten a pail of it. Maybe some other day. We wanted to try a couple of sandwiches knowing that we would taking some leftovers home for dinner.. Started with the shrimp poor boy - the small one, cut in half. It was loaded with lightly battered shrimp, lettuce and tomato on a superb crusty bun. Sandwich looked good and tasted even better. It wasn't inexpensive but it had great value for the money. We also tried the mufalata sandwich. Again, the small one. It was a monster. Cut in 4, it still was huge. Seasoned ham sliced super thin with cheese on a fantastic crusty roll. There might have been a couple of other meats on the sandwich. It was too good to dissect for details. The olive dressing was excellent, I would have liked more of it on the sandwich. This sandwich was again very pricey, but had good value. Our food was brought to us by a friendly young man who was very good at sharing the details of the menu. Sadly, we didn't try the beignets.. Super dooper highly recommend without any reservations. Would eat there weekly if we lived in the area. Need to try the gumbo and jambalaya.

It was good with plenty of quality ham and olive tapenade. However, it lacked Mortadella and the proper Emmental-provolone cheese blend, feeling more like a ham and cheese sandwich with a little salami, than the cohesive, harmonious Muffulettas from NOLA. It was solid but not the same. Next time I think I'll give one of the Po-boys sandwiches a try.

The family and I were staying in this area so we stopped in for a quick supper one night as we knew we wanted ice cream as well. So made this a perfect spot. Setup like a good truck with some picnic tables on the outside. You go to the window and place an order. Me being a family of 7 getting food and ice cream we had a big order. I personally went with a coney dog and a frito dog with a hot fudge sundae for dessert. The worker made our food first and waited to we was done for Ice cream. My hot dogs and Ice cream were both very good. Nice flavor and if I had to say the frito dog was my favorite. The rest of the family sampled everything from a chili cheese dog, pulled pork sandwich (wife said was good!), frito pie (got for babies but I ate most of it. Was really good!), bama split, a s'more funnel cake with ice cream on top (amazing!), traditional colors and cream, blue Hawaiian shaved ice and a Shark bite sundae. Everyone was really happy with there selections. Overall we had really good and fast service and tasty food. Pricing was good for a tourist town. The signs said the hot dogs were Nathan famous and the ice cream was Hershey. So that's two rather giant name brands so maybe that's why the food was good. Either way we had a nice trip here.
