Longtime Customer, Rewarded with Zero Communication…read more I've been a Westfield Comics customer for over 35 years. Until 2025, I would have considered Westfield a five-star company based on my long history with them. Unfortunately, throughout 2025 I experienced a complete breakdown in customer service communication, which ultimately led me to pull my business. Despite multiple emails and voicemails over several months, I received no responses to documented issues, even while new orders continued to be fulfilled. Unresolved issues included: -Being charged for and shipped trade paperbacks when my subscriptions were for single issues, with no response regarding returns or credits. -Being charged shipping three separate times for a single monthly shipment, with no explanation. -Missing subscription issues that were reported and never acknowledged. Receiving some incorrect items in place of missing books, with no replacements ever provided. -Multiple damaged comics due to a change in packing methods. Recent shipments were packed tightly in boxes with no protective dunnage, resulting in visibly damaged corners on numerous books. I reported the damage by listing each affected titles, but received no response. Mistakes can happen in any business. What ultimately drove my decision to leave was the complete lack of communication. After decades as a loyal customer, being consistently ignored made it clear that customer service is no longer a priority. I'm sharing this review strictly to document my experience so other customers can make informed decisions.

I had called in a hold earlier in the day, and as I was explaining this, one of the men there talked over me rather than letting me finish speaking. I had been considering looking around as well, but after that, I decided I'd rather just make my purchase and leave.

Despite the multiple 1 star reviews citing Bruce's erratic and rude behavior, I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt and support a local comics business. I came here a few times over the past year or two and bought a few things with no issue. Recently I went in and grabbed a giant pile of graphic novels to buy, ~$200 worth. The last few times I came in, he charged books at cover price and is generally amicable and friendly. This visit, he said he could not sell the pile of books I wanted because he had to "do some research" to "save me a few bucks" so that he wasn't "over-charging me". I told him that I don't need to save a few bucks and would just like to buy the books as-is and would pay whatever price he wanted, I didn't care about price, I just wanted the books! He grabbed the pile of books and hid them behind the counter and refused to sell them to me. His mood quickly changed to rude and abrasive. He made multiple abrasive comments, effectively ending the conversation. I left the store feeling quite perplexed as I had been nothing but courteous and kind during the visit, and I couldn't fathom what brought about this spate of complete irrational behavior. Is he developing dementia? I can't explain why the owner of a store would NOT want to sell books to someone. These were all books with multiple printings, all of which I've since found on eBay for 1/2 cover price, so I don't think he was trying to rip me off. I can't put it together. I had ~$1000 set aside to spend on graphic novels over the next month, and needless to say it will NOT be spent at Capital City Comics. Life is too short to put up with being treated disrespectfully. I strongly recommend avoiding this place. People like Bruce give comics a bad name, which is a shame because there are so many good and kind people who read comic books. I would rather pay 10x the price for books than be treated like that again.

I stop in every week to pick up my comic books and I'm always greeted with a smile and a hello from the owners. My boyfriend has been a regular at the store for years, and I went with him to pick up his pull list this past weekend. There were people chatting at the counter when we came in, so Carla didn't see that I was with anyone when I entered the store. She was sure to ask me if I needed help with anything, which is a first in the slew of comic and game shops I've been to recently. The shop is set up with different rooms devoted to your interest, with comics in one wing and games in another, and more general books and collectibles merchandise in the main room where you enter. If you head to the back, you'll find space for game playing and where Don is organizing his back stock of comics. The shop on the whole is bright and colorful, and I felt totally welcome to browse. Don and Carla had a nice word for everyone who came in the store, and it was pretty clear that they have a small army of loyal customers. The outside of the store isn't much to look at - it's situated in an industrial-looking strip mall - but don't let that deter you from the checking out their cozy shop. Even if you're not a full-on geek, there are still things for you here - several of their games are great for a game night with friends.

Someone…read moreat the store even told me a product hadn't come out yet that was supposed to release on my birthday I saw it at other stores, and it had released on time. I was told by the staff repeatedly it was pushed back for release. When I brought it up for the 6th time, they finally decided to get the product ordered that I had paid for in advance. RECENTLY. I went back to this store thinking it couldn't have been worse than that. I bought some Dragon Shield sleeves that were manufactured to be a few mm too small for standard cards. When I went to address the issue with the store they told me to take care of it online with the manufacturer rather than swapping the product. I was told "If nothing is damaged on the box we don't handle it." Now I'm emailing the manufacturer as I was told... and finding out the manufacturer does not replace product, but offers reimbursements ONLY IF THE STORE IN QUESTION IS UNWILLING TO HELP. In other words your store should have handled the issue and refused to by admission of the manufacturers own policy. Your employee either lied, or just was unwilling to help. Thanks for taking my $20 for sleeves no refunds. Assholes.

The best deals for Pokémon are their mystery tins, which have 50 cards, and include 10 rare and/or holo cards for $9.99. They also have a huge glass case for GX and EX cards if there's something you're looking for. Really incredible to me, though, is the fact that they have a website, kryptonitekollectibles.net, where you can order single cards, and they'll ship! Love that! This place mainly specializes in Magic the Gathering, but they have a ton of board games, cards, dice, and sports memorabilia. I could spend hours here just looking around! Also great customer service! Definitely worth the drive from Madison!

As we all understand, Barnes & Noble is this great bookstore that spans numerous locations around…read morethe United States and beyond. This location is no different. It is a very large bookstore, offering all kinds of reading material, and other things. The one thing that I love about this location the most is that they have a very-very large used book section. This is located on the upper mezzanine level of the shop, near the back of the business. Walk up there, and you never know what you will find. It's a great experience. They, meaning Barnes & Noble describe the books in the used book section as being alphabetized by author. I don't know, as that's not really the case. It's all kind of a mess. This being said, that does not take away from the quest. Looking through there, you'll find a little bit of everything. Something for every reading taste. They even have a pretty nice selection of art books, featuring the works of various artists. Great place to shop for a book or a gift. Other than that, Barnes & Noble is a fully stocked bookstore. They have all of the modern, popular books. Plus, a whole lot of the everything else. Like most Barnes & Noble, they also have a café over to one side. This is where people gather, and talk, and read, and a little bit of all of that kind of stuff. One thing that is a bit unique to this Barnes & Noble, is that they have a very large toy section. This is a great place to get that unique gift for a child. Because, they have a whole lot of really unique and different items. This location also has a very nice manga section, if that's your flavor--if you're looking for Japanese anime art, and similar genres, you may well find it here. Overall, this Barnes & Noble is a great place to shop for books, and other items. You never know what you may find, or what may surprise you.

In my last two trips, there have been zero copies of the books I wanted at the store and I could only order them online. They have a limited selection of newer books and it's been disappointing. Plenty of parking in the lot and a very large store.
