Reminded me of a record shop that I used to frequent back in Queens, NY in the 90s. If you're into rock and metal, you'll definitely love the selection here. They had all kinds of cool albums, including some really interesting sets and Record Store Day releases that you just don't see everywhere. They also had a bunch of reggae, soul and dance LP's. Prices were a little bit higher than you could find online for most things, but there were some deals here and there. My daughter found a bunch of singles for a buck or two that we're going for more money on eBay. She was psyched. One thing that I was disappointed with was that the selection appeared to be like 95% new vinyl. I was hoping to find some used bins to look through but it was really slim pickens for diamonds in the rough. That aside, gotta love a record store like this. I will definitely be back in the near future. Five stars.

It's a humble location; it's in a quiet strip mall off Oakland Park blvd. Honestly, as we pulled in to the mostly empty parking lot I thought we had the wrong location. But as we entered I realized what few mall customers there were, were all in the shop. And what a nice space it was. Old school basic layout that I liked. Just boxes and boxes of vinyl to sift through. They were well organized, with punk, funk, and more all set in their areas. And the RSD specials were displayed above each of the areas they related to. It's not a huge store, but with the limited quantity it helped me find a couple things I liked. Glad to make the acquaintance of We Got the Beats, and hope to be back soon.

Strong recommend for vintage vinyl hunters. You will probably find at least one thing here that…read moreyou've never seen before. This is not a "new releases" store. This is a must only if you want used/vintage vinyl, especially prog, jazz, and world (although hip-hop and avant-garde sections pretty solid as well). Overall the prices are fair. I have found some great bargains, but to be fair, the cheaper vinyl veers more towards VG+. I've also found some obscurities and rarities (unpretentiously) mixed in, and those can get expensive (but again the prices are always fair). The owner is really nice and his partner owns a vintage store in the same strip. I'd put this in my top 20 record stores overall, especially considering the prices for this level of quality and rarity.

The store was kind of dark, some cool old school posters on the wall, and walked to the desk where a gray haired woman was sitting. We stated we had some vinyl in the car for sale, to which she blurted out "I'm on the phone"....no "hello", or "be with you shortly", or even "hey, we aren't buying albums at this time". She was on speaker, but since no one was talking when we walked in, we were unaware. She continued her long winded call and completely ignored us, and after 20 minutes, we walked out and discovered Technique Records on NE 79th Street, which was an amazing experience, friendly staff, and bought about 50 albums from us. My brother returned to Found Sound on 9/3, thinking he'd give them another try, maybe they had a bad day, etc. He met with the male owner and said he was in the store a week before. The owner proceeded to tell him that "oh yeah, my wife said that we had a bad attitude". What owner says this? Why a bad attitude? Were we breathing too much air in the store? They acted like they were doing us a favor by being open. Do yourself a favor...go to Technique Records instead and skip this shoebox of a store.

Really cool, hip store with large inventory of old records and interesting memorabilia on display. Also had 2 record players with headphones where customers could check out the vinyl while in the store. Really nice young guy helped us out, took videos of our records as he flipped through them, sent them to the owner who was offsite, and within about a half hour, they purchased a large stack of our records. Excellent customer service. If you want vinyl, go to Technique.

Technique records was a pleasant detour on a trip down to Miami. This store has a huge selection of records in varying conditions and genres. Mini records, promo albums, albums from other countries, singles, and even new unopened records can be found here. There is also a section for local artist. They also have several $1 bins where you can find hidden gems if you have the patience. This store was pretty consistently busy and staff was always around if you needed help with something. There are two turntables available to listen to records before you buy (as long as they aren't sealed). Definitely stop in with some time to explore whether you are new to vinyls or a pro.

You walk through an outdoor entrance with black iron gates and the first thing you see at this bookstore is a bar! Ha. On the left side is an entrance to one side of the bookstore and on the right side is another entrance to the other side of the bookstore. Super organized with tall shelves of books, books and more books!!! f you walk past the bar outside and pass the outdoor patio area, there is another entrance in the middle to the indoor cafe with more seating. The indoor cafe entrance also connects to the bookstore inside too. We stopped by here during the day when we were walking around Coral Gables grabbing lunch and checking out the local museums. But we didn't have time to browse so we came back at night after dinner. At night, there's a bar/lounge vibe which is cool. They also had live music when we were there on a Saturday night. Beautiful bookstore set up and organization. They sell cute gift items too and the kids section is great! Love everything about this spot and I believe they have several other Books & Books locations. The Coral Gables location I think is the original and biggest one? Go check them out.

Whether it's a solo trip for a quick purchase or a meeting spot for a quick bite and leisurely stroll, they have everything you need and can cater to any in search of some good books without the secondhand hassle. The open courtyard at the entrance has a bar offering light lobster options and wine. The floor plan has a winding maze-like layout making your browsing experience much more interesting. They also host book signing events with local authors so checking their social media pages is a good way to sneak peak what's in store. They have something for every reader and even plenty of independent and local newspapers. The staff is very helpful and they're quick to help you find whatever material you're searching for. The prices are reasonable and there's plenty of categories to choose from. It's perfect to come here when you want a chill activity without the hustle and bustle. There are deals on the wine bottles during the week so check their calendar. I recommend this place over the conglomerate booksellers because they really support local business owners and their prices are extremely attractive for the range they offer.
