And your guide is the sweet and super friendly owner, Sebastian! He welcomed me as I walked in and asked if I was looking for anything specific. Unfortunately he didn't have the purse I was looking for at the time, but he did have all sorts of other fun things like 80s purses, holiday decor, fun costume jewelry, etc. I left with a pair of earrings I loved. The vibes are it! I absolutely loved the 80s decor, so much I thought about buying some of the furniture, but it wasn't for sale unfortunately. But it definitely makes for great photo ops with friends. The store is small but it is FULL of goodies. It's like a retro Eye Spy and I loved it. It's a humble location; it's in a quiet strip mall off Oakland Park blvd. Honestly, as we pulled in to the mostly empty parking lot I thought we had the wrong location. But as we entered I realized what few mall customers there were, were all in the shop. And what a nice space it was. Old school basic layout that I liked. Just boxes and boxes of vinyl to sift through. They were well organized, with punk, funk, and more all set in their areas. And the RSD specials were displayed above each of the areas they related to. It's not a huge store, but with the limited quantity it helped me find a couple things I liked. Glad to make the acquaintance of We Got the Beats, and hope to be back soon.

The owner/manager (I'm not sure of his exact role), Tony, was super nice and patient despite what I'm sure was a stressful event. I was super impressed by the organization and how smoothly everything went, when it could've very easily been chaotic with hundreds of crazed fans in attendance. Tony also did a great job of making sure that people didn't cut in line, when many did try, and took the time to talk to those of us who had been waiting in line for hours. He also answered tons of questions on social media that people had leading up to the event. I can't convey how impressed I am at how well they pulled off an event of this magnitude, and am beyond grateful for this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

This is a must only if you want used/vintage vinyl, especially prog, jazz, and world (although hip-hop and avant-garde sections pretty solid as well). Overall the prices are fair. I have found some great bargains, but to be fair, the cheaper vinyl veers more towards VG+. I've also found some obscurities and rarities (unpretentiously) mixed in, and those can get expensive (but again the prices are always fair). The owner is really nice and his partner owns a vintage store in the same strip. I'd put this in my top 20 record stores overall, especially considering the prices for this level of quality and rarity.

Technique records was a pleasant detour on a trip down to Miami. This store has a huge selection of records in varying conditions and genres. Mini records, promo albums, albums from other countries, singles, and even new unopened records can be found here. There is also a section for local artist. They also have several $1 bins where you can find hidden gems if you have the patience. This store was pretty consistently busy and staff was always around if you needed help with something. There are two turntables available to listen to records before you buy (as long as they aren't sealed). Definitely stop in with some time to explore whether you are new to vinyls or a pro.

Most amp/guitar techs are butchers, thieves, and just plain assholes. The guys at Crown are none of the above. They fixed my amp promptly and held great communication the entire process (so I knew what I was paying for). They also have a cool collection of vinyl, turntables, cool shirts, movies, etc. If you need your equipment fixed, this is the place to go!

The sidewalk next to the front door are $1 used records in boxes. Entered the overstuffed shop with used vinyl, magazines, books and CDs. This record store surely has some well priced hard to find original music in addition to new digital remastered vinyl. Found a few original Kiss, B-52s and Ramones albums. They offer a box of absolutely FREE records with a limit of three per person. The store policy allows customers to test play vinyl on a phonograph before making any purchase - great policy.
