Store staff aren't particularly brimming with friendliness but that's okay as the mission is to get high quality food for what each of us deems reasonable. Cash is king! Service is always a big thing for me. The operators and staff here are part of the neighbourhood. They know their customers and it is always busy. Inside the lights are lower than in a big chain grocery store. They also sold potted plants and cut flowers. Prices are the same or slightly better than at a big chain grocery store. For example, I wanted to buy a bag of cherries. There were two prices, $2.99/lb and $4.99/lb. The difference was that the more expensive cherries were bigger in size. There were fruits displayed outside the store, like the cherries. When I was there, the cherries were in the shade. However, the temperature was 31C with humidex of 38C; are fruit affected by humidex? I suspect they are. But if the strong was shining o  it, I worry about the fruit getting over ripe. My cherries were OK for the $2.99/lb price I paid. At my first set of 25 cherries, one was rotten. The sweetness level varied from cherry to cherry. They sold all the typical fruit and vegetables, without having any Chinese vegetables or fruit. This is in Greektown, after all. It is best to use cash. There is a charge of $0.25 for debit, so that's acceptable. There is some minimum purchase for credit cards, but I don't remember the rules. There is no free WiFi. I'm always tempted to buy some as it'll be convenient to have freshly available produce at home, but just haven't taken the bait yet since I like coming to the market. The selection of fruits and vegetables may seem overwhelming, but everything is neatly organized and labeled well for easy identification and pricing. Whatever I'm looking for or want, they seem to have at any given time. They even have fiddleheads which not many places in the market carries. A small gourmet shop close to Greenwood station, on the Danforth…read more The inside is small, but all the displays and counters/freezers are clean and new. They have a good selection of cheeses, assorted spreads, pickles, upscale chips and pretzels, and prepared foods, and a few more things. Prices are on par with a gourmet shop. The staff is really friendly and helpful. They even examined my jar of pickled onions and confirmed that a thing in it was sumac and if I was ok with that!
