My favourite store where they have the best fresh fruits and veggies and my go to place to buy beautiful flowers for myself

This spot is for sure a budget friendly shop. For $23.51 I got: - tomatoes - 2 batches of organic blueberries - bag of Meyer lemons - brussel sprouts - cucumber - cantaloupe - oranges - avocado - carrots I would have bought more, but I was running out of hands! The quality of produce here is fantastic (I am reminded of the Seinfeld episode where Jerry and Kramer get banned....that kind of good). Better than what you can get at a regular grocery store, and its cheap. You can go next door to the small Loblaws and get the rest of your groceries, but buy your produce here. With a TD across the street, a multitude of coffee shops nearby...why go anywhere else?! read more

Best produce, hands down, from the Beaches to Leslieville, and surprisingly inexpensive. For a small store, they are also well stocked with staple foods, as well as some international specialty items that I normally can't find in supermarkets. Hands down BEST place for fresh berries. When my parents and I decide to stay over at our Beach residence, my mom and I always walk to Carload for fruits, specifically their raspberries and blueberries. If you are looking for sweet blueberries and non-soggy raspberries, then come to Carload. My mom also buys sweet corn, watermelon, and salad leaves - all fresh and local. This is one of those local gem stores that sells good, fresh produce. As per other reviewers, Carload is small so it can be very bump-and-grind...but the flow of traffic is fast. I would definitely recommend this place for fruits and vegetables, more so than the IGA right at the corner. read more

Carload On The Beach was tasked with the almost impossible feat of filling the void created in the Beach produce trade when the beloved Beach Food Mart relocated north to Kingston Rd. And although it is open to debate whether the colossal sized shoes left behind by Beach Food Mart have been truly filled, does remain to be seen, one can readily see that Carload has done an admirable job at stepping in and distinguishing itself as an appreciated stop in its own right. Occupying the same real estate as its predecessor, Carload replicates the same friendly, casual yet professional service that helped to separate it from the over priced IGA to the immediate east. Carload does have limited space and can feel crowded during peak times, yet their displays are clean and stock is disturbingly fresh. Prices are also more than fair, which can be difficult to achieve when merchants are coerced into paying the astronomical rent prices associated with premium Queen St. E. storefronts. I'm on a very tight budget. Always. I also live about a 10-minute walk from No Frills, where I can make a one-stop shop for all my non-perishables (sure) and my produce (no thanks). But for the extra 5-minute walk to Carload, I get a wonderful selection of fresh, clean and crisp vegetables (no sand! no slime!) and firm and unbruised fruit (yay), including a decent selection of Ontario-grown, seasonal fruit ... All while still saving money! They also stock dairy products, tofu, miso paste, eggs and juices. If I'm feeling lazy, I can shop for my non-perishables at the (slightly overpriced) IGA next door and still spend less than I would have spent at Loblaws for a similar haul. To give you an idea of what I typically spend for my two-adult household: $40 (give or take) for a week's worth of produce, which includes two cooked meals a day. Savings! Bonus: The service is quick and friendly, and while it's a small shop, it's always kept very neat and clean. Check it out on a weekday, if possible! Weekends in the Beaches means lots of sweaty bodies and more than likely, a longer wait time at the cash. read more

I love my fruits and veggies and this place offers them up nice and fresh wether it's pineapple or peppers. The staff is great. The lineup gets out of hand especially on the weekends but the cashiers are quick and professional. I also love the fact that you could buy some of the fruits like pineapple, watermelon and honeydew already cut up so they are ready to enjoy! I'm a busy gal so this saves a lot of time. read more

Very fresh produce at very reasonable prices. Their milk is even cheaper then Foodland next door. I get all my fruit & veg from here.

I bought vegetables there on Saturday but left them behind on cashiers counter. I returned Sunday and they refused to recognize me (a regular Beacher just down the street from Carload), nor did they return my money! I will NEVER shop here again. They have shown themselves to be dishonest with me and I shall let all my neighbours aware of their treatment! read more

Carload has the freshest mushrooms you'll ever find in this city, plump portabellos without a dry spot anywhere, uber fresh shitake and oyster mushrooms. They always have a variety of fresh organic produce at a surprisingly fair price. A great produce store!!!! read more

I love this little market. Packaging of everything is nice and neat. Fresh, fresh, fresh. From flowers to vegetables to bread crumbs. Everything I needed for my dinner party. Great prices! And you only pay for what you need. Thyme for $1.99 rather than a huge bundle for $3.99 that I'd end up throwing 1/2 away. Portions sort of remind me of Trader Joe's. Good for working couples with little time. Line can be long and space is teeny tiny. read more

Will always go out of my way to stop here for fruits and veggies! No picking things up, analyzing to see how long it will really last. Produce is fresh and turns over very quickly. Bring your patience...line up is long but moves rather quickly. read more

i never saw their produces were organic, where does it say??? it must be certified u cant just claim it... prices are low here but the shop is so tiny u can not go inside with a stroller, u cant turn around..., their banana is unriped tastes bad and rots when u take it home. i tried their other fruits as well, didnt find anything special in it, i dont think i will go again i can buy the same thing in a supermarket at the organic section where no one pushes me to the side while i am selecting, this shop is way to narrow if u stand others cant pass by so you have to move and you cant concentrate on what u want read more
