This place is cute! My sister in law came across this place and made dinner reservations (for three) here for my birthday. Due to covid restrictions (and this was back in a October, we didn't really get the full experience but it was still a pleasant experience and I would love to come back here next time I am down. So many angles of photo ops in this venue. it's pretty intimate inside but there's also outside seating as well. Bring that it was all of our first time here, we got a few plates to share and also tried their pomegranate wine so good! Overall, the food was good, drinks were great and the staff and service was awesome.

    Really good charcuterie board

It's really cool to see a place that does so much stuff in one place. A few years ago was when craft beer reached its height, felt like a new brewery was opening up every month. Now that everyone is trying to be more health conscious, craft distilleries and hard kombuchas are picking up. I feel like the next wave will be Meaderies. This place has mead, ciders, wines (not from grapes), hard seltzers, liquors and eau de vie (made from brandy). Also their charcuterie board was super good. Coupled with nice decor makes for a good place to kick it with some buddies.

I was glad to choose FruitCraft for my wedding: a stylish event space with delicious fruit wines and cocktails! When my then fiancé and I toured FruitCraft, and there were many reasons we instantly fell in love with FruitCraft for our wedding! After years of planting my roots in San Diego and curating my love for the restaurants in this city, it was important to our wedding vision that our venue showcased our love for San Diego culture. When it came to first impressions, FruitCraft was an oasis of green within the arts district of Hillcrest: it was easy to mistake the sleek white building off University & Richmond with a garden, only to realize it's the immenseness of fresh greenery along the walls of the FruitCraft venue. With so much wedding costs inevitably going towards flowers, our budget and vision agreed with the minimal decor required to enhance FruitCraft's existing space; we invested in a few pops of color to highlight our wedding theme, but otherwise the venue is gorgeous and photogenic as-is. The FruitCraft team created a smooth and easy-to-plan event; we valued being able to spend more time on our friends & family and less time on strenuous event coordinating. The more we got to know FruitCraft as a venue, the more we knew it was truly the perfect way to express our love for San Diego to our guests. The location is excellent: within easy walking distance of the Hillcrest Farmer's Market, the iconic Hillcrest Pride Flag, Forbes 2021 Best Brunch's Great Maple -- FruitCraft offered a seamless way to introduce our guests to the quaint and eccentric style that we love about Hillcrest San Diego. I went to college in a small town, so for several of my guests, my wedding was their first time visiting America's Finest City; it was hugely meaningful that I could impress them with FruitCraft's central location to many SD landmarks. At the same time, many of my guests were anxious about parking in urban San Diego; after business hours there was plenty of free parking at the DMV within 0.5mi of FruitCraft. Our dinner menu had something for everyone, while immersing our guests in Southern California cuisine. For our appetizers: a photogenic & varietal charcuterie board, a bright & fresh pesto pasta salad; for our main course - a chic taco bar that meat-lovers and vegetarians could both enjoy. We appreciated the flexibility of choosing from the FruitCraft dessert menu or bringing in from an outside dessert vendor; we opted for bringing in outside donuts, and it was super easy to set-up and serve to our guests. Between our engagement and now our marriage - each time my husband and I visited FruitCraft, it grew more comforting and emotional to see the plants grow with us - through all the trials and tribulations of the pandemic and then some! We will forever cherish celebrating our special day at FruitCraft, and would strongly recommend to anyone seeking a stylish garden in the heart of San Diego for their wedding venue!

From left to right: pineapple wine, cranberry spice hard kombucha and pineapple cider

This place has a little something for everyone to enjoy. The have mead, wine (dry to sweet), hard kombucha, cider, hard seltzer and beer. They even have normal kombucha and cold brew for non-alcoholic options. The inside is also really pretty and instagrammable if that's your thing. They have outdoor seating on their front patio and back patio as well as indoor seating with tables very spread out. The service throughout the night was great too! I got a flight and tried the pineapple wine (dry), pineapple cider and the cranberry spice hard kombucha. The pineapple wine was pretty unique. It definitely smelled like pineapple but the flavor was much more mild. The cider was just ok as the flavor was even milder than the wine. The cranberry hard kombucha was delicious though! Just the right amount of spice and tang that comes from a normal kombucha. Another unique drink someone in my party got was the lavender cold brew. It was very sweet, but the lavender flavor was really pronounced. Worth a try if you like lavender flavor.

Fruitcraft went above and beyond my expectations for our wedding day! My mom had a horrible car accident a month before our wedding and Alan and his staff were so patient and accommodating with us. I'm so thankful we were able to move on as scheduled. The night went so smoothly. The food was amazing. The florist and dj recommended by the venue were beyond perfect. The new bridal suite was also a great addition and I highly recommended adding it to your day!

If you're looking for a wedding venue, Fruitcraft is a great place to consider. The ambiance is what sold us to the place. Service was impeccable and they helped us every step of the way. Their wedding coordinator Ana was great!

FruitCraft turned out to be the PERFECT venue for our wedding!!! It made me glad our original venue canceled all events because I don't think our wedding would have been as great as it was had it been hosted anywhere else. We did a quick ceremony here and reception followed after. The whole space is beautiful and I received a lot of compliments on it despite having pretty much 0 decorations of my own. I am definitely a lazy Type A- bride... didn't worry about decorations at all because of all the greenery this place has. However, there's lots of room for personalization and decorations if you're into that. Staff was super helpful all around. Alan was easy to work with in creating a quote that was suitable for us. He always answered emails and calls right away. Anna also helped in answering all questions. On the night of our event, she was always easy to find at the venue and made sure our event went without a problem. She also made sure I always had a drink in hand haha :) We did all of our food and beverage through FruitCraft. We also hired our DJ, also through the venue. This place made wedding planning EASY. If you're looking for an easy going, affordable venue, look no further. FruitCraft is the place to go.

Flatbread, pineapple wine, pomegranate wine, pomegranate cherry wine, grapefruit kombucha

Great little place if you want some wine and kombucha. We came cuz we saw a groupon deal and it looked great from the pictures. My gf is a big fan of kombucha. They were out of the hard kombucha so she decided to get their grapefruit non alcoholic one which was great. We decided to get a flight as well with a mixture of the cider, sweet wine, and semi sweet wine. We both enjoyed the pomegranate flavors which gave it a sweetness but some tartness as well. We also got a margarita flatbread as well which to our surprise was very good. I thought coming into it would have been just a typical flatbread you could make at home but it has great flavor and the crust tasted nice and fresh would go back and get that one again. Parking might be a bit hard since it is only street parking. I believe after 8pm it will be free. Would come again

Ehhh a okay! If I could give 3.5 stars - that would be my actual rating. 4 stars for the great Kombucha, but a mediocre 3 for the food. It's a really cute and trendy place - very girly and instagram friendly lol. Service was nice, but nothing too extraordinary. I had the Honey Lavender hard kombucha and it wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be but I still really like it. My husband ordered the one with cinnamon and that was quite tasty! Like soda! lol. We both ordered sandwiches there but it just tasted okay - pretty much I could make them at home for cheaper. But overall a really cute place. I would definitely come back here just to try more of their drinks!

This is a cute little hard kombucha place in the heart of Hillcrest. When you walk in, you can order at the bar and then seat yourself and they will bring your order to you. The manager was pretty attentive and went over the menu with me and answered all my questions thoroughly! They offer quite an extensive menu of beverages besides their kombucha, so there's sure to be something for everyone. They even have Frose! I ended up going for their pineapple hard kombucha, which was pretty refreshing and easy on the palate. I also ordered the charcuterie board, which was a good deal for $13 and definitely enough for 2 people to share. It had a couple types of cheeses and meats, as well as jam & fruit. This would be a nice, chill place to come and hang out with friends or to even bring a laptop to get some work done. I enjoyed my experience here and look forward to coming back!

I walked into the Kombucha bar in Hillcrest on a Wednesday morning. Isaac greeted me from behind the cash register with a smile. After realizing it was my first time there, he quickly went over the menu with me. A few minutes after, Anna, the manager, chatted with me about my options. I, then, decided on breakfast flatbread and the Flight of three (no alcohol): Apple Cinnamon, Grapefruit Rosemary and Cherry Basil. They were all refreshing. My favorite was the Cherry Basil. My very first time of having Kombucha, fermented tea, also known as "mushroom tea." Glad I tried it! Ambiance Comfy and cozy. I particularly liked the healthy green plants draping the wall of the dining area. My husband adorns our house with the exact same plants. The velvety couches definitely made my dining experience more pleasurable. Sitting Area - Three tables and 3 to 4 comfy chairs with the centerpiece of a cute bottle holding up a fresh single sunflower. - Two green cotton velvet upholstery arranged against the right side wall with 2 armchairs. Also, an extra couch in front of the cafe. The furniture made the place attractive to gether with friends just to hang out and catch up. Kombucha For those who prefer alcohol, go with Hard (5% alcohol): Pineapple Hibiscus, Honey Lavender and Pomegranate Mint. Food Choices: (see pics) Artisan Toast - Avocado Toast $7 - Strawberry Ricotta Toast $6 Sandwiches - Breakfast Croissant $6.75 - Brie and Fig Melt $8 - BLTA $9.50 - Chicken Pesto $9 Flatbread - Breakfast Flatbread $10: Prosciutto, Fried Egg, Mozzarella and House Red Sauce (full of aromatic herb, very flavorful) - Vegan $10 Salads - Signature Kale Caesar $10 - Mediterranean Quinoa Salad $8 * add Chicken $3, Avocado $1.50 or Bacon $2 GF- gluten-free V- vegetarian VO- vegan option +V- vegan (see pic) The menu (pic) is for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those who arrive after will have dinner menu to choose from. The restroom was very clean and had fresh scent. Likes: - Anna and Isaac's pleasant demeanor - Refreshing Kombucha (No sugar added) - Free street parking before 10 a.m. - Location - Spotless restroom - Spacious and comfy - Water dispenser flavor with sliced of strawberries and lemon Dislikes: None I truly enjoyed my experience dining here. Will be bringing my family with me the next time I return.

A frosé, a yummy pineapple wine concoction, and the restaurant's take on bruschetta
    Hollyann B.

If you haven't tried Fruitcraft yet, you really should. The atmosphere is fun and friendly, and the drinks are awesomely delicious. You'll get a brain freeze from the frosé, and you'll find a bubbly cranberry drink that feels like Thanksgiving in a glass. Service is great, and the drinks are great, so why not five stars? It's the food. Skip the food. The bruschetta is lightly toasted bread slices served with a cup of what looks like salsa. Disappointing presentation and not especially fantastic in flavor. So, go for the drinks. Stay for the atmosphere. But don't come hungry.

We came on a Saturday (late afternoon to evening) and it was not packed, so our small child was able to have her pick of the tables in the outdoor area. She chose the L-shaped cozy furniture, and we occupied that and the adjacent table. They had a basket with blankets in them right by the door, which was a nice touch. Every single drink we had was delicious: lager ("crushable" -my husband), peachy peach (my favorite), strawberry kiwi crush, blood orange mint, and grapefruit splash. They all tasted exactly as described. For food, we ordered grilled cheese, chili smash burger, and both types of fries. My husband is picky about burgers and my daughter is picky about all food, but their chosen foods were a HIT. The service was great, and the ambiance was perfect. I know it's silly but there were so many small details that show the care that went into this place, from the tiles on the bar to the hand painted leaves in the bathrooms. They have a little free library, games, and merch in one area as well. Seriously so cute, and a new favorite spot for us for sure!
