When I got to the register, the cashier proceeded to charge me $ 5.99 for the melon instead of $ 4.99 stating I was purchasing cut up melon versus the whole melon which is the $ 4.99 price. Now try to explain to a cashier at 3:00 am that this was an entire melon that I just had sliced in 1/2 so I could more easily carry it/manage it to the car and then from the car to inside my home. Let me mention that lot's of those whole watermelons especially the yellow ones were not ripe or over ripe once opened. A couple of years ago I stopped going there after noticing that they regularly overcharged me and other customers anywhere from $1-5 per purchase. They never gave an itemized receipt unless you asked for it. And many times they were not able to provide it. Recently I was in the area and decided to give them another try. Their prices are still ridiculously high, but the produce quality is way down. Two things that still make this place different from other shops in the immediate area is a 4% service charge if you use a credit card and slightly nicer fruit presentation.

The service is quick for the most part although as there is only one register, so there can be occasions where there is a bit of a line to get processed. I've bought bread and other small items and I've enjoyed my purchases there.
