I spent some extensive time in NJ this spring. Therefore, due to my mom's birthday (March) and my birthday (April), we made a couple of visits to Nothing Bundt Cakes. If you sign up for their email list and provide your birthday, you will receive a coupon for a free bundtlet around the time of your birthday. During our visits, we picked up our freebies in addition to a few other bundtlets. Some of my favorites have been white chocolate raspberry, snickerdoodle, and strawberries and cream. My mom loved the chocolate chocolate chip. As with other locations, this Shrewsbury location is a cute, quaint shop. Upon entering, you will see the cakes on display in a case. They usually offer you a sample of a selected flavor. Service is usually pretty efficient and friendly. Nothing Bundt Cakes is a grab and go type of place. What a concept! I would never have thought someone could make a bakery that specialized in bundt cakes. If you ever taste one of theirs you will understand why. We ordered a bunch for our baby shower and they were perfect. I had the lemon cake and it is so good. They have just the right amount of sweetness. These cakes are moist and the cream cheese frosting works well with the cake. It is addicting to eat so be careful! They also hold well and eating it the next day was just as good. They have adorable bundt cake in several different sizes. I am very impressed at all their presentations and how the cakes can be made to look extraordinary for any given occasion. When you go there you're always greeted with a smile as they ask you if you need any help. They also have samples so you can try things. I usually go for the lemon but that day they had mocha. Tried it and decided to get that over instead. Regardless, they're all delicious. Their icing is just a tad too sweet fort my taste but the kid loved it. I just came to this location to pick up a dessert for the family. I made an attempt to open the door and it was closed. I was surprised that at 6:32 pm the door was already locked when the schedule read they close at 7 pm. A staff member was behind the counter and made no indication that they were still open. I've heard good things about the business and will try to visit again but just not at this location. Poor customer service! I just want to take a moment to update my review. I did speak to a representative of NBC who did apologize for my negative experience and offered a free item for the misunderstanding. I decided to give them another chance this time I went to the North Brunswick location which is closer to my residence. I tried the mini box which included two of all the flavors. Store staff was very helpful and the cakes were delicious! I decided to entrust them with my boyfriend's birthday cake. They did a wonderful job! Everyone enjoyed their personal bundt cakes and the guest of honor was pleased most of all. I requested that the cakes be delivered and all went according to plan. The icing was on the sweeter side, which my friend seemed to love, but personally found it a bit overwhelming. Overall, it's definitely on the pricier side but it is boutique cupcakes/cakes so it's justified. A really cute gift for a teacher, friend, or to bring to someone's house. Out of all of them I would have to say I like lemon the most, though I've always been partial to lemon-flavored baked goods. All the cakes are pretty tasty. I asked for an ice cream for a 2years old with peppa pig decoration and vanilla flavor they did not have peppa pig decoration and was told they had princess.
