I called around for other estimates and his undercut the other's, one company was about 30% more - that's a lot! We agreed on a date and time for the repair. He arrived as agreed, answered 101 questions I had (not all related to the repair he was there for), did a great job, cleaned everything up before he left and charged what he estimated. I recently reached out to Frank again ( second project offer) to see if he could fix a bathtub drain pipe that sprung a leak from cracks that appeared from rust expanding the pipe. The pipe is part of the original plumbing and the house is nearly 74 years old. Luckily I have two full bathrooms and the pipe was attached to the 1st floor bathtub only so it wasn't an "emergency I need Frank right now" lol. Frank was available and we scheduled a meeting so he could assess the severity. The day he showed up, on time and schedule, he determined that it wasn't as bad as he assumed and asked if I wanted him to repair it right away since he was already there. I said yep and he got down to business quickly. He cut off about a 3 1/2 foot section of the iron pipe and installed a PVC pipe, couple of rubber end bushings and clamps he had available. After running the bathtub water a few minutes and letting it drain, no more leakage and I was happy. From the time he arrived to him finishing the job was approximately 2 hours. Now I will need to repaint the installed PVC pipe so it matches my basement celling but no biggie. The pipe is in my finished basement restroom so it's out of sight but, the wife added the painting to the "honey-do-list" lol. It's an eye sore right now but, at least it's out of sight. Frank is an absolute professional nice guy and does keep his word. Just make sure to give him some flexibility since things do come up unexpectedly but, he will communicate with you to keep you informed, not like other contractors that leave you guessing and act like they're doing you a favor...yeah right! As a construction professional myself, I value those who are a dedicated to their craft. Frank is one of those individuals that will invest in your own best interest while holding to his own standards. After replacing an ancient water heater and valves for less than the "big boys" I asked if he could install a smart water valve where our main enters the house (after the PRV of course).
