I love this company as they have THE BEST employees I have ever dealt with. I have an older home and had to have all my pipes replaced. It was stressful as it's a significant cost. Yet, having remarkable professionals all the way through the process helped tremendously. Digging up and laying the new pipe requires hard labor. Johnathon, James, and Kevin came to do this work day after day and could not have been better! In spite of the hard work, they were professional, friendly, and worked great as a team. Requested assistance on a clogged drain and when I spoke with agent that there is a $65.00 service fee but would be waved if work was performed. No assessment was required however the cost of the service was extremely expensive and I had to wait 24hours for the dispatch and upon arrival I didn't want to contact another service. Requested an online appointment and was told there would be a $65 charge to come out and give me an estimate for a disposal replacement and a faucet replacement. If I went forward with the work the $65 charge would be waved. I then called to set up the appointment and was told the $65 was actually $95. Technician arrived on time and was professional but I was shocked at the $698 estimate to replace a faucet and disposal. Maybe if they were supplying the fixtures but they weren't, I was. Took the technician 2 hours so $350 per hour minus some plumbing parts I guess. Wish they could have given me an idea of how much they charge over the phone but I guess that would cut into the service charge fees they get when they show up and tell you how much its going to cost. read more

This is the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. We called because we currently have water pressure issues in our shower and a little bit of low pressure in the kitchen. The kitchen pressure was regarding our sink and fridge - they just had a little less pressure than a few months ago but were still fine. I wanted to make sure it wasn't a problem throughout the house but mostly just get a quote to fix the shower. After the plumber came out to check everything our kitchen sink and fridge water no longer worked at all! They didn't tell us they broke either one. It was working fine before, just slightly lower pressure than a few months ago. At first we only caught that the sink wasn't working and had to call to complain and there was no apology or even acknowledging the inconvenience. They said they need to get a hold of the manager and they may not be able to until tomorrow. So, break our stuff and then provide no urgency to repair the damage you caused with zero warning. Then the plumber called to ask what the issue is and we told him and he said "I told you the faucet had diminished water capacity." Yeah, you didn't say it had none now or that it was much worse than before you came. They didn't even offer a solution. We asked to not be charged for the visit that day and he said we already weren't go to be. When we said we will have to cancel plans and go get a new faucet to install ourselves tonight, he said "that's fine." It's not fine. Later that night we realized that the water on the fridge was also no longer working at all. We called about that as well and they tried to gas light us and say it was never working and that we should be thankful they came out. What?!? This is pure insanity. We finally figured out that the plumber just left all of the tubing to the fridge just dangling in our basement with the valve turned off still. Once we fixed all of that the fridge worked again. I wouldn't recommend this kind of "help" to my worst enemy. We had to fix far more issues than we started with and were told we should be thankful. I've never experienced such rude and incompetent customer service in any situation. I've never even left a negative review before but this was incomprehensible. Do not use this company!! read more

We asked help from Maplewood Plumbing about our plumbing issue. APRIL 10 - a drain technician was over to check the issue and was told that a "drain technician and plumber needs to be over together to fix this issue" so it had to be rescheduled. APRIL 19 @ 0830 was the rescheduled date. Two plumbers came over and we were told "drain technician needs to be in here FIRST so they can check if there's nothing clogged up / if something needs to be drained, and that they have to camera in the pipe" so they left and told us that they'd come back in the afternoon. The drain tech came over and told us that he "flushed" the pipe and we were told that there was NO ISSUE with it. The two plumbers came back and started working on the kitchen sink for about an hour. During this time they were both confident that they could repipe and get the sink to drain. After they finished, they tried to drain the sink but was unsuccessful. They once again took the pipes apart and reassembled it back together. Tried to drain the water, but was once again unsuccessful. After this, they said that the pipes NEEDED to get a a camera through so they can see what is causing the clogging. This is when the problem starts. You tell us that you were confident that you could drain the sink but couldn't. You tell us that the pipes NEEDED to have a camera through them. Wasn't that the point of the drain tech? That's what we called you guys to do, but he did not use a camera. He just flushed the pipes with water. You later then told us that the kitchen wall needs to be knocked down to "fully see" the cause of the problem. After this, we were told to pay charges for the "services" worth $665++. Services that weren't completed or fixed. In their documentation, they put "FLOW IS RESTORED" which is a complete LIE. We still had to deal the same issue after they left. They would try to collect money on something that wasn't done at all! Completely UNETHICAL. read more

I had some downspout/ sewer drainage issues during the last heavy rainstorm and Maplewood Plumbing was able to come out the following day, which was also a weekend. Zak Mulvaney arrived within one hour of my phone call and immediately assessed my issue. Zak was extremely thorough and explained everything to me. I was provided videos with audio that were very helpful in dealing with a separate contracting company. Zak was even friendly with some inquisitive neighbors who wandered over. After having hired Roto Rooter because they could come that day to take care of a backed up kitchen drain pipe. 600 dollars later and making a mess of my basement floor - I still had a clogged drain pipe. Zach came out the next day and fixed the clog in 15 minutes and later Zach and Josh cleaned out the main drain due to roots in the line. Not cheap- but you get what you pay for! Called back on Tuesday morning and was told that somehow my request slipped through the cracks but that I would definitely get a call about an appointment. Again no return call. Do not bother, nor waste your money. They charge $65 to give a quote and won't do this over the phone, has to be an in person consultation. At first did not have an issue with this as long as they were going to do a proper assessment. So, we requested the consultation, an employee came to the house and didn't bother to look at any of the plumbing issues. We told the company over the phone what the issue was and what had transpired in fixing it to this point, just to be told they need to do their own assessment of the situation. NO ASSESSMENT DONE AT ALL, just an employee that came to the house telling us 'oh, we can do the hydroflush, but just so you know we are a lot higher than most companies. Most companies are around $1000 and we charge $1600'. Pretty sure he was making this up on the spot, did not seem legit, and no explanation of why they charge more. When I asked why he wasted my time and money for no assessment and only to be told the cost of their hydroflush service, he told me 'they don't do quote over the phone, only in person'. Before I called I was aware Maplewood Plumbing has a fee to come give a quote for repairs. A year ago that fee was about $65, so when I called I was prepared for a $65 to $75 fee. Apparently they've increased their fee to $150. That fee just covers a plumber coming on site to create a quote. I live very close to their headquarters, and I already had my water company tell me exactly what needs to be done by a plumber. Basically, they wanted $150 to drive ~10 minutes, look at where my water company said I need a valve, tell me how much it would cost, and drive ~10 minutes back. Based on the high upfront cost I fear that the estimate would be inflated. read more

Maplewood charged us almost $400 for literally 15 minutes from the time they arrive to the time they finish to replace our kitchen faucet. WOW!!! The response I was looking for when I called them was "sir, I'm sorry, that doesn't sound fair, $150 is fair for that project". Instead, their reasons are because their plumbers goes to school to do that. Things costs more than they used to. People go to Yale and Harvard don't charge $1,400/hr. We provided all materials so there were no material costs to them. Gas is $3.19/per gallon. This practice is unfair and wrong. I would be more than happy to pay $150 for the 15 minutes worth of work. That is still a lot and fair the work performed. Okay, stupid me to approve the amount before they started WHEN I DIDN'T KNOW IT WOULD ONLY TAKE 15 MINUTES. That still doesn't make it fair. Maywood , seems to be a good company, when I contacted the manager of a supply company of an national supply change for a referral to help my mom out who is 900 miles from me the manager referred me to maywood plumbing, I thought they would take care of the problem at a reasonable rate. But I was wrong to snake her kitchen sink and check some other small issues they charged a 85 year old women $1150. for 1.5 hours of work!! And never provided the estimate for other repairs. I have been doing plumbing my self for over 40 years and have never charged more than $350. for a snake job on a main sewer. much less to do a Hydrostatic Flush on a Kitchen sink! I've had 3 good experiences and one that could use improvement with Maplewood Plumbing, but overall, I'd still recommend them. They fixed a slow leak in a bathroom on one trip. They redid a line to a humidifier on another. Finally, they redid a bunch of stuff in the bathroom as we redid some fixtures. I was very happy with the first two, and happy with the third, except one small aspect was missed. I didn't know til I went to finish the job; the tub spout should have been threaded and it wasn't. I called back and asked for the job to be done - was told that it would be a lower price as a "continuance." The task was finished today but still cost me another $130. No issue paying people for their work, but I'd given the guy all the materials and said it needed to work. I didn't call it out and he didn't notice, so it's on both of us. However, 15 minutes of work today to fix the issue seemed expensive at $130. That said, they're reliable, clean up after themselves, and do good work. Second time using MP. Doing some updating in my 99 yo house so called and was promptly scheduled for an estimate. Aaron came out to bid on installing a bathroom vanity faucet & sink, kitchen faucet & sink, and my new 18" Bosch dishwasher which needed to be raised. He also bid on installing a complex water line to the new refrigerator which I ended up not going with. I accepted the rest of the bid. Over the next 6 weeks these items were scheduled and executed with patience even with all the changes and delays. Everything was completed last week. Aaron did all the work, arriving on time and cheerful. He was thorough, patient and took good care to protect the surroundings and clean up after each task. I highly recommend this company. Their good customer service starts with the people in the office being friendly, efficient and patient and ends with the job being done to your satisfaction. You won't be sorry. read more

My sinks backed up and I looked around for plumbers on yelp. Maplewood plumbing responded immediately and within 20 minutes a plumber came and cabled the pipes underneath my sink. I think it was luck of not having anyone else schedule that morning or I was next in line. Pros: -the plumber was very polite, respectful, and professional. -he explained what he was doing so I could understand and keep my landlord informed. Cons: -the approach didn't solve the problem. My sinks backed up again and he suggested going through the main line. I told him to wait since I had to get authorization for that from the landlord. -so I was out $239 without resolution of the problem. This is why I gave it 4 stars. Another plumber came out the following day and did the same thing to the pipes and the sinks finally drained. I believe if the plumber from MPC had kept working at it, it would have resolved the issue. The second plumber had the LL's permission to go into the main line so he cabled again down there to be safe. I know it's a really old plumbing system with so much crud in it and you walk in not knowing what you will encounter as a plumber. I appreciate how I was treated, the company responsiveness and I just wish they had been able to resolve the issue for a little cheaper. $239 is steep when it doesn't get resolved. read more

John and Josh did excellent job. Cleared a kitchen stack in no time. When working to clear an obstruction from the sewer lateral (a broken clean out cap wedges in place, blocking 90% of the lateral), they went above and beyond making at least 10-12 attempts on a very hot August day until they were able to successfully--and on camera--push the object into the larger MSD main line. Others might have stopped after just a couple of attempts and recommended taking out fences and bringing in a backhoe to tear up the entire back yard. We won't hesitate to call Maplewood Plumbing again. Not sure why the review won't let me check the "value" box--if there was a "great value" box, it would be checked. read more

Had Maplewood Plumbing come out to investigate a leaky ceiling below an added shower. The guy came out and was honest about how much it would cost to do a simple drywall cut, so he recommended I do it and contact them. When the leak was pinned down, had another guy come out to actually fix the issue. He didn't really even want to charge me for labor since it was a quick silicone job. Just charged for coming out. These guys aren't trying to make a quick buck off of people. They are honest and did a great job. Would recommend to anyone. read more
