Tried to purchase cooking classes for my sister in law, Joel directed me to PayPal to pay for the classes then got upset that I sent the payment as "goods and services" rather than "family and friends" because apparently you need to have a PayPal seller account and there is a small fee to gather funds and he didn't want to set one up. This in itself was not a big deal but the way Joel interacted with me was and we ended up cancelling the class all together I don't think Joel teaches the cooking classes so my 1 star may not reflect their entire organization, but in my experience bad customer is systemic and I wouldn't want to pay $120 bucks only to find out the Chef treats people the same way. read more

Beyond delicious and informative!! Cant wait to do it again! Our group of 10 meet at Joel and Taziani beautiful home in Boise. They had sent us a detailed email about the street conditions and parking due to the heavy snow. We enjoyed an authentic 3 course meal and a decadent dessert, all of which we received instruction in how to make. Each course was paired with amazing wines. I think I can speak for our group...we will be trying our new culinary skills at home. I would definitely recommend Fuel for the Soul experience. read more

This was probably the WORST KBBQ spot I've ever been to. The utensils were dirty, and some of the…read moremeats and side dishes tasted spoiled. The food literally tasted like STRAIGHT GASOLINE from the grill, and overall it just didn't feel like real Korean BBQ compared to all the other spots I've tried. None of the food tasted right besides the fried gyozas lol. How can you serve spoiled meats and sides to customers??? The picked radishes and one of the meats stank. Service was pretty slow too, and they didn't remove the spoiled meat from our table even after we said it smelled bad. I couldn't even eat and ended up leaving hungry. I can't believe this place is still operating. Definitely would not recommend unless you want to come here and eat fried gyozas.

Our server was kind enough to bring us a lot of small sampler appetizers with our ordered appetizer, we had tons of food! The inside of the restaurant is very spacious and comfortable, they had a coy fish pond in the central entry area which was very cool, and they even had some of those fun delivery robots. Overall a very good value and really diverse Korean dining experience!

We ordered the halibut fish cake for an appetizer. Incredibly tender (not fishy) and crispy on the outside. Delicious! My husband had the sourdough pappardelle which reminded me of the pasta and gravy that my grandfather made (my grandfather was from Sicily, he called it gravy.) It tasted and brought back memories of my childhood. Never have tasted anything this close to what my grandfather made--ever! Kudos to the chef!!! I had the lamb porterhouse. It was very good. Cooked medium rare. Tender and very tasty. Would order again. If that was not enough we got the panna cotta for dessert which was creamy and melted in your mouth. Oh and we got an order of sourdough focaccia to go... and yes, I tore I to it when we got home. It was full of flavor, still warm and had wonderful Italian spices and EVOO in it. We had the Percy potatoes (so good and the perfect crunch) and the sugar snap pea appetizers ( wish the menu would have stated the peas are served cold- my husband loved, but I don't like cold sugar snaps) For our main I had the chicken, mash and asparagus. All 10/10 and you could really taste the smoke of the oven. My husband had the sticky ribs and he said some of the best he's ever had! We finished off our meal with a delicious slice of carrot cake.

I don't know that I have ever given a brewery a 5 Star review...this makes sense!…read more I have been doing my little Fish & Chips search through Boise and I will have to say, this place is Hands Down the best yet that I have found! Now I have been here a few times and I like the place. The service is good, especially in the bar. The place is very open and has great light and fresh air which I always love. Add to that some great food and creative cocktails and you have a winner! They have a great Old Fashion that is a creation of one of the bartenders and I think is just a fantastic drink! Balanced flavor, a little sweet but not too sweet...with a nice bourbon finish to it! Now back to the Fish & Chips...I have had them twice now, with the same cocktail to chase them down. These are what Fish & Chips are meant to be. The batter is light with a great crunch, not heavily breaded but a light flavorful batter! To start, I tried the Pickletini. As a fan of pickle-forward drinks, I found it "not bad"--a solid choice if you enjoy that briny profile. My fiancé opted for the All Ways Down Double IPA flight. At 9% ABV, it was a heavy hitter, but he really enjoyed the intense hop aroma and flavor provided by the Cryo Hops. For my main, I ordered the TNT Sando (Tri-Tip with bacon jam and garlic aioli) on Gaston's grilled focaccia. I requested it without pickles, and it was excellent. I paired it with the Black Bean and Veggie soup, which was a standout--perfectly delicious with a nice "zing" to it. Unfortunately, the meal hit a significant snag with my fiancé's Fish & Chips. The beer and cornmeal tempura batter was extremely thick (nearly 3/4 of an inch in some spots) and the fish was overcooked. Additionally, the blue cheese dressing on his side salad was very runny and tasted off. It was disappointing enough that we had to send it back. We replaced it with The Spicy Italian pizza. This was a total 180--it arrived looking beautiful, and the combination of the meats, pepperoncinis, and hot honey was absolutely delicious. Our server, Casey P., was generally good and attentive, though we did have to wait to start our meal because we weren't initially provided with napkins or silverware. A minor note on the atmosphere: the table we were seated at had "gay" carved into the wood, which felt a bit out of place for the professional vibe of the rest of the establishment. Overall, the TNT Sando, the pizza, and the beers are worth coming back for, but the kitchen consistency on the fried items definitely needs some work.

Apple fritters are his favorite so I Googled the nearest joint that has apple fritters Goldy's Corner popped up so I made my 2 minute drive there. For a sunny Monday morning, downtown was pretty chill. Got myself a front row parking spot and made my way in. The vibe in the joint was just the same as this Monday morning, chill. You see a few guests enjoying their morning caffeine with some friends. Another guest having his chess board all ready for a serious game while sipping on his drink. I love it. The display case was full of goods. You have a great variety of savory and sweet options. I did a run through of everything and the one thing I came in for wasn't there. The sweet gal behind the counter greeted me with the friendliest smile. I asked her about the apple fritters and she nicely told me they didn't have any today. Last week, last week they had the fritters. So, I got my husband his second favorite thing and that is a huge cinnamon roll. It was beautifully displayed in the case. It was perfectly frosted and hearty. It looked like the perfect pastry to grab for him. I got my cinnamon roll all boxed up and was excited to bring it home to the hubby. The sweet gal told me to call ahead next time to see if they were planning on having fritters available that day. I also appreciate that she tried to direct me to other joints to grab a fritter. I told her that I have been to the shops she recommended but I was happy with the cinnamon roll. I look forward to taking my huge bite of this cinnamon roll when I get home. I am positive my husband will love it, he's never had a locally made cinnamon roll that he didn't like. The shop was really chill and relaxing. The gal that worked today was sweet and kind. I can't wait to come back and vibe out here. I can see the patio and a cup of coffee in the near future.

We enjoyed our coffee with unlimited refills and took a booth where you can people watch and we could see the capitol building. Friendly staff and good coffee. I appreciate the variety of baked goods and even the discounted day old items. Good place to grab a coffee when you don't have much time. Loved the artwork on display too. Several little tables here and booths and one larger table. My quiche was good. Everything I expected and I got the day old banana bread which was dried up and hard on the edges and soft in the middle. I guess that's why they discount it. After a day it doesn't hold up too long.
