This was probably the WORST KBBQ spot I've ever been to. The utensils were dirty, and some of the meats and side dishes tasted spoiled. The food literally tasted like STRAIGHT GASOLINE from the grill, and overall it just didn't feel like real Korean BBQ compared to all the other spots I've tried. None of the food tasted right besides the fried gyozas lol. How can you serve spoiled meats and sides to customers??? The picked radishes and one of the meats stank. Service was pretty slow too, and they didn't remove the spoiled meat from our table even after we said it smelled bad. I couldn't even eat and ended up leaving hungry. Very good variety of Korean dishes with many chicken, pork and beef/bulgogi options. Great menu items and lots of variety with the all you can eat. Our server was kind enough to bring us a lot of small sampler appetizers with our ordered appetizer, we had tons of food! The inside of the restaurant is very spacious and comfortable, they had a coy fish pond in the central entry area which was very cool, and they even had some of those fun delivery robots. Hands down my happy place!!!! I love the fact I can actually see, some KBBQ places are sooo dimly lit and I hate it. So i'm super happy that I can see what i'm doing. Tables are spaced nicely, staff is very attentive, and the koi fish are too cute. I always do the All You Can Eat - the portions are perfect so you can try so many dishes and there's less waste. I lived in South Korea for a long time, so I was excited to visit this establishment. Although the servers here are generally Chinese, the food is the closest to authentic Korean cuisine within a 100-mile radius. The service quality, however, varies depending on your server. My first experience with a Korean *ajumma* (an elderly lady) as my server was amazing. But during my second visit, I was served by a Chinese lady who was dismissive toward customers. Despite seeking good, authentic food, I found myself having to repeatedly get her attention for orders or requests. One young Chinese male server was satisfactory, but the older Chinese lady was particularly dismissive. That said, the food was delicious, and the unique dishes make this place a great stop to satisfy Korean food cravings. I recommend it, but your experience will heavily depend on your server. If you never left idaho in your life, you may have more of a 3 or 4 star experience. This restaurant does cater to a lot of non-koreans and is more of a fusion for Americans. I guess that could be a plus depending on how you think of it... The reason for the 2 stars is due to couple negative experiences. On my first visit, the ceiling was leaking water on my table and my dish (celebration noodles) that already tasted like water! I cook this at home quite frequently and if the restaurant version tastes worse, I'm not sure what else to say :( The second time I came for all you can eat bbq. The meat was low-quality and tough. The side dishes were not that great. The kimchi was way too soured (almost going bad). I think the best dish was the steamed egg. I ate that the most with rice. I tried all the different meats and the best was the thin sliced brisket (usually the most popular among korean bbq). However, if you've never had korean bbq, the seasoned galbi will probably be your first choice. We had a big party and the service was good. Ambience was also nice. However, the Koreans sitting at the table did not enjoy their food as suspected lol! The non Koreans had a decent experience, because they had nothing to compare it to (was not too familiar with korean cuisine). Food was great experience similar to big metropolitan cities with similar variety and flavors. The cuts and prep were very much appreciated as care was taken to make in a memorable experience for me daughter and I. Our server was making us special guests like a home cooked dinner with family and friends. Her timing and changing of the grill was perfect and smooth as a veteran and smooth and easy as a friend hosting lunch. The robot server did his job as a clean machine! Magnificent Garden is one of our daughter's favorite restaurants. Combined with the AYCE option and a walking-talking robot it's a special occasion location. While I did not partake in the cooking of my food, my daughter and her boyfriend did and they had a great time. For those who haven't been or are not sure what Magnificent Garden is, it is a Korean BBQ restaurant that has grilling pots installed at your table. You can order different meats and vegetables to cook on the grill. There is the price per person so if there's a person who doesn't eat much, the All You Can Eat option is not a good value. Those diners should pick out a standalone plate from the menu. I did exactly that and would recommend fellow diners to do that as well. My hot stone bimibop was made vegan for me which was a very much appreciated accommodation. I did add tofu and it was very good. Not the best but above average and the price was decent. Our server was very friendly and the robot was a kick in the pants. Overall, if you're looking for something different and authentic with a lot of meat and vegetable options that you don't mind cooking yourself with an all-you-can-eat tagline, then Magnificent Garden maybe worth a visit. read more

We were asking things like 'what comes with this fish", 'Is this a sandwich, or does the bread come on the side', 'what kind of meat is this'... pretty basic stuff. The waiter couldn't/wouldn't answer our questions. We ended up leaving because we had no idea what we were going to be ordering/getting. I was so disappointed because I really wanted to try Korean BBQ, and we were very up front about needing help ordering, but the waiter just didn't care. The individual meat items are pretty pricey for a la carte orders. We ordered one order of the all you can eat and one soondubu with added kimchi to it. $32.28 for one person to eat the all you can eat. They have a 4 tray robot to bring items to the tables. Koi fish in the center. They have a trust issue here and probably get a lot of people and charge for more than one all you can eat, if you take one bite, they probably have someone watching the videos to see if anyone is eating any all you can eat meat that they didn't order. I didn't eat any meat or any food items that were part of the all you can eat, since the banchans were and water was so bad and then my tofu soup too. The waiter told us for a 2nd and 3rd time that we can only share the banchans and the japchae. I can't eat the grilled chicken or the dumplings or the teok bokki or they will charge me for the all you can eat as well. They are being strict dictators about the food. Their water tastes off here as well. That should have been a red flag on the poor quality of food here. I have had two other people here ask if I wanted anything else. I think I already got a taste of the mint of food they put out here. The kimchi tastes so bland and flavorless. Tastes like it was only made an hour ago. The teok bokki is super mushy and way over cooked. The jap chae is at least slightly warm. It has no veggies or flavor though. The bachans are lack luster and rather disappointing. The tofu stew has a bit of flavor, but no spice to it at all. It's super watery as well. The tofu isn't the soft tofu I was expecting at all. It also has zero mushroom tops, only the bottoms. What happened to all of my mushroom tops, only for the all added mushroom sides they would make you pay for? There was ground pork in my seafood tofu soup. They explained to me later that their soup broth for the seafood tofu soup is made with pork. That's a first. The hostess told me if I have any questions about what's in any dish, to ask. She asked if I had asked for no pork meat. I said yes. The waiter said he had no idea the seafood tofu had pork meat in in it. I told him that's fine, it's not his fault. I wouldn't have thought a seafood stew would have any pork in it either. I really loathe this place and I have only taken two sips of my soup so far. They took off the soup since I had two sips of the broth. The hostess asked if I wanted another soup with no pork in it. I said no. I am good not eating here at all. Lastly the tofu soup had only the mushroom stems in the soup. Who wants to eat only mushroom soup. There was quite a few mushroom bottoms, that's the least part of the mushroom that I like. Since they don't offer spicy chicken for the grill. My husband smothered the sriracha all over the chicken before putting it on the grill. If we hadn't started in on the food. I would have walked out. They charged us for the awful carbonated water out of the gun here. I had them remove mine, as I took a sip and didn't want anymore of it. The waiter was okay until the bill came out, he just works for a restaurant that puts out bad food is all. This place is a stain and blemish to the Korean name. Once the bill came out, the waiter was rather sensitive and hovered over me. He said he will take the bill up after he had just dropped it off. I asked if he was seriously going to stand there waiting at our table for me to hand him a card. He then dropped off the receipt after he ran the card. He asked if something was wrong. I told him. He finally left me alone to sign the receipt without him standing over me. Bill total was $32.28. Stick to the grilled meats, since that is raw meat and you cook it yourself. We tried the all you can eat bbq for a birthday dinner. They recommend you only order 3 or 4 meat plates per round (there were 4 adults) and finish your food before ordering and cooking more. They also charge you for any uneaten and wasted food, and will not allow you to take the food home. The food arrives by a little robot with trays on food on it, which entertained the kiddo at our table. We ordered the following: Squid Mixed mushroom Prime rib Bulgogi Marinated pork Pork belly Mandu/dumplings Ramyun (non spicy for the kiddo) Fried shrimp (not ordered but it showed up at our table so beware of surprise dishes) My favorites were the mushroom, squid, pork belly, and marinated pork. The seasoning on the pork was better than any of the other cuts of meat and it was everyone's favorite. We wanted short rib and mussel but they were out so that was disappointing. Accompanying side dishes were pretty limited. We got kimchi, yams, zucchini, japchae, and radish. We had to ask for the spicy dipping sauce (they have Sriracha and bbq sauce at the table). However, I appreciated that they gave us lettuce and rice without requesting it. Not the best KBBQ meal I've ever had and I'm not sure why they ran out of several menu items when it was early on Friday night, so I probably wouldn't return. read more

I've always passed this Korean BBQ spot but never actually went but I'm so glad I finally did! Immediately upon walking in the atmosphere was buzzing and I knew my boyfriend and I picked the right spot for date night. Even though it was packed we got a seat within about 3 minutes and our server was very kind and taught us how to cook the meats. We ordered the beef bulgogi which was the clear star of the night along with pork belly and ribeye. For an AYCE package of $29, you really can't beat it! Especially here in Boise! I would highly recommend and we are already planning to go back! I would give zero stars if I could. Some of the worst service we've experienced at a restaurant, by far the worst (non existent) management, and the food is not good and tastes store bought (cheap, basic). Not so magnificent... I am Korean, and lived in Koreatown in Los Angeles for over 30 years. Being a recent Idaho transplant, I was looking to enjoy a traditonal korean barbeque meal. As my family and I entered, we greeted the hostess and spoke to her in korean. She promptly told me in broken english that she does not speak korean, but our server will. The server spoke korean and took our order in korean, but I couldn't tell if she was smiling because she was wearing a mask. The food was brought to our table by a robot and we had the serve ourselves. The all you can eat menu looked promising, but I would say it was closer to false advertisement and misrepresentation. The meat on the menu was not prime as claimed. The brisket or "chadorl" was not sliced in the tradional manner as pictured in their own pictures. Their kalbi marinade was missing many traditional elements like ginger, sesame and pear. Their steamed egg was ready made and reheated upon order. Their kimchee was overly sour. The naengmyun was overly sweet. And the "prime" tenderloin was served in tiny cubes, not sliced. If you have experienced good korean food, the Magnificent Garden will disappoint you. If you are a foodie with taste, the Magnificent Garden will disappoint you. If you have never enjoyed a traditional korean barbeque experience, do not let this place be your first. It will ruin your first experience and perception in what is supposed to be a fun and delicious dining experience. read more

I give Magnificent Gardens 4 stars because after deciding on a nature outing and gathering my khaki shorts, notebook and camera. I also promised a date she would see some amazing natural flowers. We were disappointed to find not a single flower growing in the entire place. It was more like a restaurant than a nature preserve or garden. We searched under tables, around booths and everywhere we could find but nothing was growing out of the concrete floors. We did eat some delicious food and asked someone nearby if they had seen the Magnificent Garden and they simply replied 'it's all around you'. We looked further and ultimately gave up. We were tired from crawling about on our hands and knees but at least we had a full belly. Try it for yourself but, don't expect a garden. At first, their food options and portions they give were a bit overpriced but what else could we expect from a new business that just started. Love their fancy grills that has great smoke grill control while eating and they also have great seating options for small and big parties. Their side dishes to go with entrees are plenty and the food is delicious. Could never get too many short ribs on the AYCE option. Very disappointed in the overall dining experience. Looks pretty authentic based on the exterior and interior design, but the food doesn't match the decor. Ordered the Combo 1 for 2 people and a cold noodle dish. Service was pretty good as everything came out in a timely manner, but probably for a reason. All the banchan (side dishes) were pretty poor. The sweet potatoes were pretty bland, kimchi was warm, which is not normal, and tasted store bought, the japchae (noodles) were okay, and the other vegetables were mushy and watery. The meat that came out was okay quality and I could possibly recommend AYCE at $28 a person, but not for the combo. In addition, the soup was watery and bland with little veggies and mushroom bottoms while the tteokboki was way overcooked and mushy. For the cold noodle dish, I find it ironic because it wasn't cold at all and I'm almost positive it's the store-bought brand that my wife and I make at home for $8 a pack that they charge almost $20 for because it tasted exactly the same. Understand that this is Boise, ID and this restaurant offers some diversity in cuisine, but this isn't it and it's pretty disgusting they call it Korean food. The all you can eat prices are OVERPRICED forsure but that is what you get when this is the only KBBQ in town. They have corn cheese on their menu but not as one of the free sides which is so odd to me. EVERY kbbq place I've gone to has corn cheese as a free side (kind of like how they do with their fries and dumplings) . Corn cheese is my FAVVVV but I'm not going to pay an extra $7 on top of the pricey $24.99 for all you can eat. Especially when cans of corn are like .50cents ‍ & Lastly, they have Tteokbokki which is spicy rice cakes. I asked to add cheese because almost everyone adds cheese to spicy rice cakes and it was a hard No. even with me offering to pay a couple of dollars for cheese lol It was weird but if you're willing to spend $25 for food $3.49 for a drink However much for the extra sides Then try this place out. Yes by far we loved this restaurant. The servers are so nice. She explained everything to us so I understood everything that was going to go on on our meal. She helped us choose the best options for our meal. She explained to us about over ordering and under ordering. She was one of the best waitresses we have ever had. We got our food by a robot which was super awesome. The food kept coming our way she kept checking on us it was super awesome. My daughter said it was one of the best experiences she has ever had in a restaurant. The only thing we wish they would've had was a bar. That's why I didn't give a five star. Having been to Korea twice, I would say the food tastes very authentic. All of the food is great quality. Both the all you can eat food as well as the other meals available are all very high quality. The flavors of the marinated meats are great. The side dishes they bring are extremely tasty. I absolutely love this place. They're very clean and they're good about replacing your grills when they get dirty after cooking a lot. The portion sizes of meat and vegetables for all you can eat are perfect. Plenty of food without it being too much. It's never too busy in here which is nice for someone like myself who dislikes crowds. Their ice cream desserts are outstanding.
