Last week we went again and guess what, the bird was still there!! Totally unacceptable! The staff totally ignored that bird, the smell (ugh) or the fact that kids are playing next to a health hazard.

There is also a library and a garden centre within the grounds so there is something for everyone. It is my favourite park and is truly a beautiful and harmonious place.

Situated next to Alfresco and the West Pier on the seafront, it's a large playground that has climbing frames for different age groups from toddlers to 7 year olds, a sandpit and giant paddling pool. There's toilets and changing rooms, deckchairs for parents (at the cost of £2 if there's a deckchair attendant) and a wooden fence around the playground - reducing the chance of kids wandering off. The real life saver for parents however, is the fact there's three different cafes situated around the playground - so you can grab a much needed coffee, power-bar or frozen yoghurt at the same time.

This park has been recently refurbished and I am very happy because its like 10 mins away from mine. It is wheelchair accessible, has a adventure playground with colourful apparatus+ sand box, a larger play area for older children with space rockets climbing frames etc and a large water park that is an absolute blessing on these hot, hot day! And the best part?! It is all free!! There is also a small shop(open during the summer months) that sells hot/cold snacks and chairs and tables you can eat at. Lots of toilets, grass, shade etc. It also includes tennis courts, football, junior cricket classes and One O'clock club which is managed by Family and Children's Services. The park was opened in 1926 in memoriam to those who fell in the Great War.

The general grassed area is not huge, as there's quite a lot else going on. There's a huge supervised adventure playground open each afternoon. They weren't being used, and dust devils were blowing across them. (I'm not kidding it was a hot dry day and they were dusty!) There's also a second play area with an attendant present when I was there, and toilets. I only noticed the sign saying they were for kids and parents using the play area after I'd used them. Whoops Anyway, worth knowing if you are desperate and need to be sneaky! For a small local park it's definitely way above average. Very nearly earned 5 stars, and I might give it that if they had loos for adults and improved the courts.

Babies, up to 3, little kids up to 5, and the rest of the place for I think up to 8 years old. With my help my little guy (currently not yet 2) could even do the big part and loved the big ball pit. For me and my two kids to get in was around 10 pounds and we were only there about and hour and a half. In fairness, they would have stayed longer but I can only hack these places for so long. They do have a concessions stand but we didn't have food. They do forbid outside food and drink, though I saw people bringing in their own anyway. Also there is an outdoor area that looked really nice that we didn't get to. I am sure we will make it out there next time. Great place though a bit nerve racking when you can't find your kid in the mazes of craziness that go to the ceiling. All in all it was a good time and we will be checking it out again.

Its split into 4 areas by age with the 4 are being an ouside section which i thought was a fantastic idea and a real favourite with my 5 yo girl. Kids will not fail to enjoy. There is a food area and plenty of seats for you to read a paper etc if your happy enough to let your kids go wild :-) Toy shop area as you leave but kids to knackered to even spot it - LOL As a point to note, you park in the main Syon Park area and walk over to the location. So, it has a little garden, bowling green, tennis court, children's playground, cricket pitches and football pitches. Although it is because it is five minutes walk from Wimbledon station, a great place to sunbathe, has (sometime working and unlocked) toliets, a parkie (whoop!), a corner shop accross the road, two nearby schools and an Art college within a moments walk that it is the heart of the community. There's a good under 3s section with a ball pit and 2-stage climbing frame (soft). There are some sit-on soft toys and some blocks. The floor is a bit suspect and there's a bit of an old smell to the area - nothing terrible but you do notice it. The play equipment appears safe but could be in better condition. The main soft play is a triple height affair with climbing, balls, slides and chutes. It's safe and in better condition than the toddler area. At weekends and after school this place can get packed but, during the day it's not too bad. A cafe facility is available serving teas, coffees, soft drinks and snacks. The prices are reasonable. Tables are kept away from the soft play being behind a low wall. They are OK but there's not a good view of the play area meaning that it's hard to have a coffee and take care of your child. For many parents this just seems to mean that they don't watch their child and so you do have to be careful that your child doesn't get set upon by unrully kids. It's not a particularly comfortable place but it's a good local option for a rainy day. Car parking is available.
