I used Yelp's Request A Quote to find a roofer/contractor. And considering our leak happened on a Sunday night, that's when I reached out to several companies. Many got back to me within the hour, including River City Vinyl Supply & Roofing. And if it weren't for a rainstorm on Monday, he would have come out that day. But he was able to come and look at the problem and have it fixed within an hour or so on Tuesday. John was speedy yet not pushy. He brought with him one of his employees, who actually got on our very tall roof to look at the problem. He talked through what he found with me and sent me a formal quote before proceeding. Turns out the flashing had pulled away from the chimney, and the mortar between several of the bricks had worn away. He showed me some photos of the roof to help me understand. They were very professsional from start to finish. The appraiser arrived on time for a complete walk around and measurement. He provided us with information on the various products/shingles that they recommend. He gave us a list of addresses to view previous jobs and roof colors/shingle manufacturers. After choosing the roofing material we called back and told them our decision. We were given a price on the job plus faxed a complete itemization. A date was then set for the job and despite the magnitude they advised us it would take them one day. The day prior to the work date the pallets of shingles were delivered to our driveway. Early in the morning on the work day the crew arrived and layed tarps around the entire exterior of the house. The crew worked non-stop all day long and completed the job prior to dusk. Just as efficiently as they set up they also cleaned up. Tarps were rolled up, deck, driveway, and walkways were cleaned with a magnetic roller to pick up any stray nails. Job well done! The workers will never sell report damage or mistakes they made. You have only 3 days to find these things and report them to the company or they can refuse to come back to your house. I contacted ProClaim Roofing and the representatives were very professional. They visited my house, assessed the damages, informed me of the insurance process and did not ask for any money up-front. (As a matter of fact, they did not ask for any money until after the work was completed, and satisfaction of the work was confirmed first!) ProClaim Roofing came to my home to assist with the repair process before the insurance company had even contacted me to schedule an adjuster to visit. They even secured protection on the roof to prevent any further damage until repairs were able to be made. The day that the insurance adjuster made their visit, the ProClaim Roofing team was on-site early and accompanied the insurance adjuster during visit to help evaluate the roof damages. The professional staff helped to familiarize the insurance adjuster with the repairs necessary. After the insurance claim quotation was made, the team was also able to identify additional items that were neglected in the original insurance quotation for the repairs. They contacted the insurance adjuster, and were able to successfully prevent future out-of-pocket costs, and immediately let me know of the changes. The day before the work began, an employee called me to verify that the proper preparations were made to start work the next day. It wasn't even cleaned when put in. The small one in the bathroom had a pink 1-inch strip all around it when looking up. They came out said not sky light. Had them come out and look at the problems . They cleaned the sky light. I think the sky lights are cheaply made. A year ago I noticed a 2 inch crack on ceiling and all down the walll. A perfect line up from the sky light and wall. After alot of phone calls they came out and said it looked like a nail had come up. They looked at walls and ceiling. They hammered it down. Still leaking. Sent video of wall and ceiling leaking. Never heard back. Called a few more times. They said they got the video. Came out and found there was 4 or 5 shingles that was the problem. This was October. If they would have checked the shingles, it could have saved months of trouble. Asked if they were going to repair my ceiling and wall. He said he would check back and call me. Called in mid-December and left message. Fast forward February, called left message again. Called again. Got a call from the guy making the repairs. After a year, it is done. I hope it holds up. I am not sure. They had a habit of not returning calls. It was a nightmare. I have a list of all my caIls to and from them. Not enough room here to write of everything. I would not recommend them. This took much too long to fix a problem they had created.
