If you are looking for a company to get the job done in a timely manner and take accountability for their lack of communication, look elsewhere. The gutter and gutter board on the back of my home came loose and was hanging down. Called Bone Dry to get a quote. Cameron (who was awesome) came out on April 8th to assess the issue and give me a quote. I signed a contract that day. Weeks and weeks pass by and I don't hear anything from Bone Dry regarding a date where they plan to come out and get the job done. I get text messages on April 30th, May 14th, and May 28th saying they eager to begin working on my roof. June 15th rolls around and nothing has been done or communicated. The issue had become much worse , where my gutter and gutter board were now detached from my home and laying across my patio. I call their office and speak to someone who says she will have someone reach out to me by EOD. I hear nothing. I call back the following day and notify them that no one reached out to me as they said they would. The person I spoke to told me she was going to contact the main boss (who was on family vacation) to see if someone could reach out to me. I finally hear from someone and they scheduled a crew to come out on June 17th to get the work done. The crew did in fact show the morning of June 17th and got the job done. As soon as the job was complete, I began getting mass amounts of text messages and phone calls to make sure I pay the invoice. If only I received the same effort to get my roof fixed as I did to receive my payment... Not once I have received an apology, communication where they went wrong, nothing (expect constant hounding for payment). read more

The roof was installed by the previous owner a year before we moved in. The roof was mostly in good condition, but there we some details they missed. They messed up the j channel trim and did not reset properly once the roof was set. The vent boots were secured at the center and not on the corners, so the corner bowed up after 10 years of age and resulted in leaks. If I used them for a full residential replacement, I would just want to be very specific with my expectations and have some means of guaranteeing satisfactory completion. I think I would likely just try someone else though. They have a really good reputation in town, but I'm not sure why if their work is kinda sloppy and rushed. read more

I've read the response from Bone Dry once more. Pictures that were supplied to me could have been of most any roof in the United States with tan brown shingles. Bottom line, I was promised pictures when the work was initiated, pictures while the repairs were being completed for my approval (since I was paying for the repairs) and pictures upon completion. Cell phones work no matter where a person is located and this company failed miserably. Bad customer service and I hope the roof they assert they repaired doesn't leak. read more

I was victim of a well practiced scam. After a thorough inspection I signed a contract for a roof replacement. As soon as they started I was charged $3,780 more. If i didn't pay no warranty. They were timely on their appointment time, straight forward on the repair with details and cost, and communicated throughout the whole process. They have us a reminder call the day before, on their way out and when they completed the job along with several photos of before and after. Then conveniently, they have a link to make payment. Our realtor recommended Bone Dry Roofing when we bought our first house. The previous roof had two layers that were in poor condition, rotted decking, leaking and molded chimney stack (which needed to be torn down and replaced with a b-vent), plus flashing needed in several areas. We were overwhelmed by the amount of work needing to be done, but Bone Dry did an excellent job of explaining everything in detail, and we went into the job feeling confident in Bone Dry's abilities. Our appointment was originally scheduled for before we moved in, but was pushed back several times due to other jobs running over, which was a bummer considering it was scheduled 2-3 months in advance. We were happy though with the continued contact throughout the job, and the friendliness and professionalism of our point-of-contact on-site. He continuously texted photos of the job, the damaged decking, and explained what they were doing and why. Our only complaints are 1. of course, being pushed back so many times, but I have to understand the nature of the job. We were hoping for the job to be done by move-in for the sanity of our dogs. 2. They completely tore off all of our gutters, and even left some parts on that now dangle off of our house, which sway in the wind causing damage to the siding. It may be common sense, but we didn't realize all the gutters would be torn off and when we followed up with Bone Dry about it, they gave us another quote for installing new ones (which ended up being almost half the price of the entire roofing job itself). Needless to say, we haven't replaced the gutters just yet, and were a little disappointed by the lack of communication on the matter, especially with how awesome and thorough they were with everything else. I just recently bought a house that I knew had a chimney that was going to need repiars. Unfortunately, the repairs was needed sooner than later. We had a bad storm and my chimney was leaking pretty bad. Bone dry roofing came out and put a tarp in place until they was able to come out and do the repairs. I had first called around and got 5 different estimates before I called Bone Dry Roofing. Everyone was cheaper than Bone Dry, but I decided to go with them only because they was more thorough when inspecting the issue and I knew that they wasn't lying to me because they gave me the same information that my inspector for the house gave me. They also took the time to actually crawl thru my attic space to make sure that the rain didn't ruin anything else. The other roofers didn't do that, they was trying to take short cuts. And people need to be careful with that, because you might get a price, then once they start working they see other issues and your $5 becomes a $5,000 job because the problem wasn't fully inspected. Sometimes you get what you pay for. They rebuilt my chimney, did the flashing, replaced shingles and placed boots for leaks on the roof. They let me know that I had proper insallation in the attic and also took the time to look at my other chimney in the basement to make that it also wasn't leaking. I also liked the fact they communicated with me via text messages, sending pictures of their work in progress along with before and after pictures. Only complaint is that they are pricey but they do a good job and clean up well. read more

I had my garage roof replaced after a tree fell on it. Bone Dry was prompt in the beginning to give me an estimate and get everything scheduled. However, after the repairs they failed to update me that the repairs would cost an additional $1,300 over the estimate. They gave me the bill without notifying me ahead of time of the additional charges. Both the receptionist and manager agreed that I should have been notified before receiving the bill. The GM however was very defensive even though the back of the contract stated customers should be notified if there would be any additional charges. I would have recommended and given more starts if the additional charges had been communicated in advance of me just getting the bill and the GM admitting that they were at fault for not notifying me. read more

PSA Never use Bone Dry (Louisville, KY)! Got quoted a new roof for $5750 with a ten year warranty. On the quote was a note about a possible $4000 redecking fee. Before signing any paperwork I was assured that I would not need the whole roof redecked and would have some additional charges for fixing areas but not $4000 worth. On the day of the job the foreman shows up and tells me that he was informed my my whole roof needs to be redecked before the work even begins. He then tells me that if I refuse the redecking my warranty would be voided and that I could owe money for supplies already being ordered. I essentially had no choice but to now pay $9750 when I was originally quoted $5750. I pursued the issue with upper management and was told that mistakes were made about assurances to me and that my warranty wouldn't have been voided. The general manager then only offered to take $200 off of the $9750 price. Only $200!!! I wouldn't have a single issue with bone dry if they would have been transparent about the cost from the beginning. Deceptive, greedy, and unethical. Please don't make the same mistake I did! read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. In June of this year (2019) we called Bone Dry to look at a leak in our roof. At that time we were also preparing to put our home on the market and wanted to be sure that the roof was in good shape for the home inspection once it was under contract. The representative that they sent out gave us a quote to repair the leak and when we specifically asked him his professional opinion of the condition of the rest of the roof and weather or not it might qualify to be totally replaced through our homeowners insurance he assured us that not only would it not qualify but that it definitely did not need to be replaced. We went ahead and paid them around $1,100 for the repair. Now here we are in November with the home under contract and SURPRISE. The home inspector found extensive hail damage to the roof which had to be there when Bone Dry did the repair because there hasn't been hail since July of 2018. We have also obtained a second opinion from another roofing contractor that agrees that there is major hail damage to the roof. We are now however unable to file a claim with our insurance because there is a one year window to file for hail damage which we are now outside of. Had Bone Dry sent a qualified representative out in the first place in JUNE our insurance would have covered a new roof. They have screwed us and are actually trying to get us to PAY them MORE money to replace the roof now. I would rather light that money on fire than give it to these unqualified crooks. They are holding up the entire sale of our house as well which is also COSTING us money. They can burn in HELL. DO NOT CALL THIS SHADY COMPANY. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING BUT MONEY. read more

Bone Dry does it again! Rain has been leaking through the cracked chimney crown since spring. Started off as a slow drip sound I could hear downstairs. More recently, it started to sound like Niagara Falls. Nothing ever came through to inside the house, thankfully, but I imagine it was just a matter of time. Aug 10 the person who arrived (I'm sorry I've forgotten his name) went up on the roof and told me I need to have masonry look it over. He'd taken photos; the hairline cracks that I knew were there had widened over time. BDR called on Mon Aug 14 to schedule for their masonry division; scheduled for the following week. Taylor Boone arrived, got up on the roof to check the chimney masonry, then prepared the quote, including a separate one for waterproofing after repairs were done and allowed to cure. He did inform me that it could be at least 3 weeks before the work could be done, between customers ahead of me and the weather. 5 wks later, it was finally my turn and the weather sorta cooperated. I met Ed, who was the very knowledgeable supervisor and kept me informed in much the same manner as when BDR replaced my roof (2018) - emails, photos, phone. Then rain started around noon of day 1 and the workmen had to stop. The next day was all rain. Day 3 they were able to come back and finish up creating the new crown, fix areas of masonry in the bricking, and place new chimney caps. Day 4 they returned and removed the framing after the concrete had set well enough. Then 2 days ago - I'm so sorry I've forgotten names again - 2 men came to do the waterproofing. We were getting water in our patio including some mud. It was a wet June! Bone Dry Roofing did a gutter repair within an afternoon, and we are pleased with the result! After they fixed our gutter, I removed all the sludge, re-painted the floor, re-screened the patio, had a bead board ceiling and fan installed. Then the rains came again! Bone-Dry Roofing saved the day! My insurance adjuster (Travelers) was unable to determine the cause of the severe water damage in my upstairs bathroom, they would pay for restoration but he couldn't guarantee it wouldn't happen again. Travelers looked at the vent boots, the roof in general and the gutters and said it might be an issue with the shallow pitch of the roof, but they would NOT pay to have it replaced. I called Bone-Dry (good marks on Angies list) for a FREE estimate and within minutes Jose determined the problem. Improper nailing of the vent boots (he even took pictures to show me the exposed holes). I did not need to be present during the repairs and its really nice that they txt me pics before, during and after the installation. This really is a service all contractors should provide, as we typically have no way to know if they did what they said they were going to do. I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly they came out, gave me a very reasonable estimate, and even completed the repairs in the same day! Working with Philip Bauman and Bone Dry Roofing has been a great experience! After receiving storm damage, we had a few different companies come out to give us estimates on replacing our roof and gutters. Out of all of them, Bone Dry was the most thorough by far. They actually recorded video while on the roof of their inspection, showing us the problems they found and went into detail explaining them. They also came out during the insurance adjuster's inspection to go over the findings with him, then had their team go over the adjustor's quote to help us get the maximum amount for our insurance claim! During the follow up visit, Phillip explained everything they could do for us, the options available to us, and the materials they would be using in detail, never once pressuring us. They also worked with the amount our insurance company was paying, insuring that our out of pocket expenses were minimal. Our job was done in two parts, roofing one day and gutters a few days later because they were using two separate crews that specialized in those specific duties. During both jobs, crews arrived promptly at the scheduled time. I was not only given updates by text throughout the day, they also sent pictures and video of each step of the process! Both the roofing and gutter jobs were finished within the day they were scheduled during the estimated time frame that was given, all mess was cleaned up, and I was given a walk through by the job supervisor. Phillip also followed up after both jobs to answer any questions we had and to make sure we were satisfied with the work done. My spouse and I used Bone Dry Roofing to replace the back half of our roof and a screened porch when we moved into our home last year. The sales person (Phillip) was very polite and took his time explaining all the details and benefits of using Bone Dry. He really spent a long time with us and after getting three quotes he ended up being the least expensive. We couldn't be more pleased with the end result and the customer services that has followed this past year. We had two occasions where we had to call Bone Dry and got excellent and immediate response and customer service. A bird somehow flew into our automatic vent and had to be removed and I called and spoke to their general manager after hours and he immediately came right over to take the dead bird out of the vent for us. Recently we requested passive air vents to be moved and this was immediately taken care of. I can't say enough about these guys an their hard work.
