I recently purchased an Eastman E2OM online from Fullers. I'm in Michigan and I was unfamiliar with this store but I did a little bit of research and felt comfortable doing the purchase. The guitar was shipped right away and came in perfect condition and absolutely beautifully set up! Is a nice extra bonus they included a Guitar Cleaning cloth and a pick holder keychain which was a nice little extra! Great selection, probably the best in Houston but man what a strange experience. I've had more fun shopping for coffins. maybe I was in too early, but the sole salesman did everything in dirge tempo in a vexed manner. Took his sweet assed time writing out the ticket for my small purchase. wanted to play an instrument; I waited at the rack per his instructions. and waited. when he came he told me to take it down myself then lurked like an anemic vulture as I played, a mute warning of the death that waits us all. I went to Fuller's today for their end of year sale, and was immediately helped by Brian, the Gretsch rep that was visiting the store. He was super friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, and introduced us to Eric Hesson from Fullers. Eric was just as helpful and attentive, and between the two, answered every question we had about the different Gretsch models. I was leaning towards a specific model, but both Eric and Brian weren't pushy at any point, and let me try out anything I wanted. They've got a huge selection of new/ used amps too, so I was able to play the guitars on my exact amp to really get the full experience. Eric really had a great balance of coming around when we needed, and letting us have time to ourselves to talk/play. Ultimately, it was a great purchasing experience! fthe staff and awesome selection that sold me. They hooked me up with a bunch of great extras that was just the cherry on top of my new hot rod! Staff needs some work, they were quite rude and looked as if I offended them for just walking through the door. Prices were about 30% over retail, and minus a few cool guitars/basses, it looked like a decent guitar center lineup. Store was dirty and cluttered. Excellent service started right when i walked in the door. i knew exactly what I wanted after finding it on the website. the amp that i was looking at was too strong (40 watts) for just around the house playing and i was quickly shown one with less power (15 watts) but pretty much the same functions. the selection was almost overwhelming, but the employees there know their stuff and i feel like a got a great deal. Visited this store for the first time this week and was very impressed with the service and selection. No pressure at all from them. I explained that I was a beginner with small hands, but looking to step up from the very small guitar I had started on. I had done some research myself, so I had a couple brands and models in mind, but I was also interested in their recommendations. Eric and Yano both took time with me, explaining the brands, models, woods, neck construction, etc., and let me try the guitars over and over until I was ready to choose. I left after the first day to continue to look around and think on the ones I had narrowed it down to, but went back the next day and actually wound up picking a different one that I fell in love with. Eric made me a great deal and threw in a few freebies that I had been wanting. The fact that they didn't treat me like a newbie, but wanted to help me find the best guitar to last me for a while was absolutely amazing and I very much appreciate this approach. By far the Mecca of all guitar stores in the greater Houston area and beyond. Their selection of Acoustic guitars, especially Taylor's is just breathtaking. From New stock to old vintage, they are well stocked wall to wall. I was greeted and treated well by the staff especially Yano, one of the coolest dudes in the business. HOLY SHIT WHAT DID I JUST WALK INTO? I was blown away when I walked into this shop. They have an incredible collection of jaw dropping, ignore your girlfriend, wreck your car because you weren't paying attention acoustic guitars. They aren't behind glass like the Mona Lisa. You can play them like any other guitar because they're suppose to be played. Yano is one of the head guys there. I was down on my luck with my 1968 Yamaha red label that had some intonation issues. This guy takes it into his shop and fixes it up for me in 30 minutes. If you have an experience that can top that kind of service provided by Yano over at Fuller's I'll delete this review and venmo you $20 personally. Houston doesn't deserve a guitar shop this bad ass. read more

*Incredible* experience all-around! As soon as my friend and I stepped into the shop, we were warmly greeted and I feel like I already knew I'd be leaving there with an instrument. I have been to a few other guitar stores around Houston, a friend recommended Fullers. I have only been playing for about a year and was wanting to move up a guitar level. I was greeted from behind the counter when I walked in by Yano and he offered to help me look around. Yano was patient and went beyond in explaining the differences in acoustic guitars, left me alone at the right times to play as many guitars as I liked, and brought me many (12+) guitars for me to play while explaining what was unique to each. As a beginner I never felt like he was talking down to me, he was never pushy and was willing to go at whatever pace I wanted. Well everyone has a different expectations and definition of good shopping experience, this is not mine. First off let me say that they stock some great guitar, and the sales people are friendly. But the hovering is just annoying. I've been there three times in the last three years and they just follow you and listen to my conversations with my wife then butting in when I didn't realize they were listening. Just made me want to leave. I'm going to pull the trigger on a $2000+ guitar in the next week but it won't be there! I've been a customer at Gruhn and Carter Vintage in Nashville and they have guitars of great value throughout the store. You can browse and play very expensive instrument without being shadowed! So I'm not sure what Fullers excuse is. If I have a question I can find the counter it's a small store. read more

I've been doing business with Mike Fuller (mostly long distance) for decades, and I've known him even longer. Mike is the most honest person I have ever met. He tells the truth and his word is gold. I sent the fiancee of my nephews roommate to them for an expensive custom ordered Custom Shop Fender, and they made her a good price and handled the deal flawlessly (she knows nothing about guitars). You cannot go wrong dealing with Mike. I just put $150,000 of instruments on consignment with him, as I am retiring and need a new house. I would not do that with someone I do not trust implicitly. Mike has a huge selection and is very knowledgeable about guitars and playing. Go deal with him - you will be glad I sent you. read more

Went in to look at Ukuleles and sheet music. They have a great selection of Uke's and Guitars, very poor selection of sheet music. As for service, not so great, unless you like someone to stare at you the entire time while while looking over the products. They don't ask if you have questions, they just try to impart their wisdom on you. And when you do ask a question, they treat you like you're an idiot. I won't buy from there, but they probably don't care. Onto the the chain store, Guitar Center, where they treat you with respect and act like they want your business. read more

I prefer to shop at local music stores whenever possible and I have passed Fuller's several times and thought I would check it out. I called to find out what the store hours are and I was surprised to be met with just outright rudeness. I have no idea what the guys problem was who answered the phone but he was, from the start, belligerent and condescending. At first I thought it was a joke but realized he was simply trying to provoke me. Out of curiosity I Google d the store and found that I was not the first to be treated like this by the store's personnel. The bottom line is that these folks are world-class a$$holes and don't deserve the business of people who try and shop locally. Simply: Fuller's Guitar is the place to go if you're looking for a guitar. Being a patron of the Guitar Centers of the world, I'm all too familiar with the disconnected "buy something or don't, I don't care" attitude a lot of their sales reps have, so the buying experience at Fuller's is a huge contrast. The folks around the shop are just there to help (as cliche as that sounds) ... They know that you're not going to walk in, pick a guitar off the wall and pay for it before you compare it to other brands/models, and they encourage you to make some noise so you get the full experience. The first time I walked in, I was taken aback by everyone stopping by to ask if I had any questions (thinking it was just a passive-aggressive way of asking me if I was going to buy already), but when I actually started asking questions, it clicked that they just wanted to share what they knew. I'm a fairly regular visitor to the shop now, and when I'm not buying something new, I'm having them tinker with a guitar I already have. I took a Martin DC16-RGTE in for them to set up, and when I got it back, it played like a dream. A pick up on my Les Paul was acting up, and they took it to replace a pot only to find that it just needed to be cleaned out ... so they didn't charge me. When you're looking around for your next guitar, I definitely recommend you check out their website or stop by the shop before you pull the trigger. read more
