Highly recommend this school if you are looking for parent involvement. It is a co-op and only 3 hours each day so just something to keep in mind. All staff truly love their job and it's clear to see Miss Mickey & Miss Jackie care for their students. The school director, Melissa, is also incredibly helpful, responsive, and kind. I think because all the parents need to be involved in a deeper way than other schools, your child gets the benefit of a whole community of people investing in them. I also appreciate the play-based learning approach. My child started out in the 3 year old class nervous and scared and to see her confidence grow and watch her create friendships have been a true joy. We had a great experience at FCNS preschool. They have a toddler, 3 year & 4 year old class. It's a co-op school, so parent involvement is required-it's also play based learning, lots of learning through play. My kids really enjoyed their time there. We have the privilege of calling FCNS our preschool and we couldn't rave about it more! My 4 year old absolutely loves her teachers and asks every morning if it's a school day. I love the co-op (parent participation) nature of the school and appreciate all the hard work and dedication from both the teachers and the parents. Being apart of the child's school day twice a month is very rewarding and my daughter takes such pride when I volunteer. The teachers are caring, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, thoughtful and put a lot of hard work into the preschool. My 3 year old started preschool here mid-Covid. Having no other preschool to compare it with... I think we have found the greatest hidden treasure of all time! Miss Sally & Miss Micky loooved my Shirley and she loved them back. It was a beautiful symbiotic relationship and I'm SO glad she's signed up to be in the 4 year old class next year. Her time spent at FCNS gave her an opportunity for growth and relationship navigation outside the home. She was a learning sponge and both teachers wonderfully executed an adapted curriculum for the Covid-School year. We love FCNS the teacher's are all amazing people! They are all so patient & kind to the kids. My kids love coming to school. I love watching my kids learn through play. I recommend coming and touring the schools. I love the Co op school setting; I don't feel like I am missing out watching my Little ones grow. I love being in the class room & getting to know the teachers, kids & parents. It definitely feels like a little community of friends. The school has so many fun activities throughout the year. Pumpkin patch field trip, Snow day, Denist day, Pet Day, post office tour, family dinner, family fun day, picnic, strawberry field trip..and so many more fun days. We love FCNS! Our experience has been amazing! The teachers are incredible. They all have diverse experience and care deeply for each family. Every day is well organized and full of activities that promote holistic learning. The school has optional field trips (strawberry farm, pumpkin patch, etc) and activities (Mother's Day Tea, Family Fun Day, Dad-n-me) that have created special memories for my family. It has been a joy to get to know the other families and develop friendships throughout our time at FCNS. This is a co op which means the parents are very involved in the workings of the school. If you're considering homeschooling or trying alternative elementary schools, this preschool is a great start! I love that I don't just leave my son at the door and come back hours later with no clue of what was done during the day. I love that parents are welcome and needed in the classroom! Our children are only little for so long, FCNS is a great way to stay involved in our children's lives while also letting them start to gain their independence. Our child is thriving at FCNS! I love FCNS. My son was there for three years (two under Miss Micky and one under Miss Sally) and I have to say they spoiled me for my expectations of education forevermore. The thrust of FCNS is to encourage exploration through play and by building community -- which was done with families by making sure everyone helped out in the classroom. My son is in 2nd grade now and I have not seen an equivalent system that let children shape their minds and choices independently as FCNS within the California public school system. Everyday I wish that my son could go to a school like FCNS up to high school. read more

We are an FCNS alumni family and we have so many wonderful memories of this school. The teachers/directors are absolutely wonderful with kids and are beyond experts in their field. This is a co-op which means you, as parents, have the opportunity to be involved with the program and be a team partner in your child's early education. They say the more a parent is involved, the more successful your child can be in school. It is more affordable than daycare preschools and other private programs. It is a place where parents become friends too, and you feel like a close community. This place is Nationally Accredited, fully licensed, and has been around since the 1950's! Check it out! I have lived in and around Fullerton for years and don't know how I missed FCNS, but I am so glad I found it when I did! I was a member of the Fullerton YMCA and my eldest daughter would go to the KidZone. One day we parked over by FCNS and when I got home I looked at the website. From the very start I loved the concept of whole child learning and parent participation. I was revealed to see that they were NAEYC accredited because I believe they hold schools to high standards. When I sent an email I was happily surprised to get a response from the director inviting my daughter and I to visit and take part in a class. We arrived and we were greeted by a parent who was taking care of the office that day. She told me that two of her children had been in the program and she was very sad to be leaving. Her input was very important to me, because I could see that she really felt at home and her children were obviously happy. My daughter's teacher is amazing! She never seems to be annoyed by anything and addresses the children with respect and her energy never seems to fade. She is never out of control of the situation and the kids obviously respect and love her. I wish I could be more like Mrs Micky! I know the participation is not for everyone and I don't do nearly as much as other parents but I love the opportunity to get to know the other children, parents and observe the way the teacher interacts with her students. This spring I re-enrolled my daughter for the 4 year old program and I pre-enrolled my younger daughter for 2012! THANK YOU FCNS! We love you! read more

What a great school for your little one to attend. You literally feel like your joining a family, by enrolling in this preschool. The teachers are sweet and thoughtful. My child was in Miss Robyn's class, who was a sweet and patient teacher, not to mention funny as well. The class size is perfect, and 4 parents participate everyday with the teacher, and as a parent, your able to watch your child interact and play with other children, and your also able to see where your child needs improvement or encouragement. FCNS is a high quality, fully accredited preschool with experienced teachers that nurtures the whole child. It allows parents and other caregivers the opportunity to participate in their child's early education and be involved in a community of like-minded families. We could not have been more pleased with our experience here when our daughter attended and are now excited to be starting again with our son. Both children love it here and have blossomed intellectually and socially with the "learn through play philosophy". If you like a hands on approach to your child's education, then this is definitely the place to be. It is a cooperative preschool wherein 3 parents are in the class with the children every single day. That allows about a 4 or 5 to 1 ratio so that your child is not lost amongst a sea of kids and the teacher has more time to focus on her role. It also gives the parents the opportunity to see how your child interacts with others along with being able to see first hand any problems or strengths that your child may have. After this experience, I will continue my child's education in elementary schools which include parent participation because I have found this to be a most valuable experience. read more

My daughter is an alumni at FCNS and what a great experience we had. To start my daughter loved it from all the other schools we had taken her to see. I love the co-op as you are able to be involved with the children. The teachers are awesome. My daughter is now 10 and it's great that she has such a great memory and has never forgotten and talks about the school all the time. This summer she returned as a volunteer and is loving being there an interacting with the kids, yet another great experience she'll never forget! Five stars doesn't even seem like enough... FCNS is such a wonderful, nurturing place! Both of my children went through their preschool program and we instantly fell in love with the teachers, parents and community feeling that this co-op offers. The kids adored going to this school and my oldest son often mentions that he misses it and wishes he could have Miss Sally as a teacher forever. They have a hands-on learning approach which keeps the children interested and learning while having fun. You'll meet wonderful parents who love being involved in their kid's education experience. You'll have a blast participating in all the fun events they organize throughout the year. Working in the classroom and sharing the preschool days with my kids was such a gift and I'm so happy to have had FCNS as their introduction to school. There is never a dull moment, the children are always engaged in the classrooms. All three FCNS teachers have been there for so many years & love what they do and it really shows. I learned many valuable things as a parent from watching them handle difficult situations with patience and grace. This preschool has a big heart and I highly recommend it!
