The location of SNA is ideal if you're staying in the OC - the only other options in the area are SAN and LAX which are both over an hour drive away in either direction. The airport isn't large, but large enough to have several routes passing through it. The aesthetics are fine - not the most modern airport I've been to, and they seem to have a good amount of shops and eateries relative to their size. The rental car counters are super close to the terminal - I can't remember the last time I walked to one from baggage claim. My only real issue with SNA is that because of its size, you will likely be limited in routes. Flying from JFK to SNA was fine, but coming home my only options were connecting flights or a red eye. Neither were ideal, so I planned my itinerary accordingly to fly out of another airport. Overall, SNA is good for what it is, and a great option if you're visiting the Orange County area.

Tunnel to get there feels like you're going through a basement there's no personality and it's dirty. The only good thing I can say is that this time the staff was friendly and courteous. In times past they were rude and not very welcoming. I have a lot of concerns for LAX during the olympics. I don't think that they're ready, I don't know if they ever will be. Then I ordered a Lyft and I had to wait 15 minutes for a bus to come, it was jam-packed and then I had to go to another lot to get the car. I assume they are doing this to decrease the traffic in the terminals, which I think is a good idea, in theory. They need more buses.

The pre-booked premium entry experience completely eliminated the usual airport arrival anxiety. Driving up to the structure was incredibly smooth, and the automated technology worked perfectly.As soon as I approached the gate, the smart camera system instantly recognized my license plate, matched it to my reservation, and opened the barrier automatically. There was absolutely no fumbling around for phone screens, searching for confirmation emails, or rolling down my window to pull a physical paper ticket. Exit was a breeze too. Being able to seamlessly drive straight out of the structure and hit the road immediately without a single delay was worth every penny. It is easily the most efficient way to wrap up a trip at LAX!

They had a local swing band playing called Hedge Hog Swing. The Public Affairs Team had a table set up. They were super friendly and knowledgeable. They were giving away some great goodies like magnets, stickers, travel sunscreen, beach balls, and local guides on places to eat. There were five different restaurants available to sit down service restaurants, a Greek restaurant, a Mexican restaurant and a coffee shop with pastries. The…read moreONT airport has all the essentials for travelers within a compact space, it's smaller than a massive metropolitan airport yet it's spacious and comfortable. Drop-off and parking is quick, I didn't have to deal with traffic or crazy crowds. TSA services were fairly amiable and the process to enter the terminals was seamless. I didn't have to wait long! Additionally, there's plenty of amenities for people young and old. I saw vending machines with Pokemon TCG items and other entertainment. There's two sizable gift shops with plenty of books, T-shirts, and Californian memorabilia for out-of-state guests. All stores were well-stocked and clean, I had fun browsing the shelves. One thing I enjoyed was the selection of restaurants and eateries inside. I saw a full-size Mexican restaurant and bar, brunch eatery, a Dunkin' and many name brand fast food chains. There's something for everyone here, I was never bored! If you're into airport lounges there's a place called Aspire that has a relaxing space for you to enjoy. Seats were comfortable and most boarding spots were easy to locate! Waiting areas had decent seats with great leg room. Restrooms were a bit far from waiting areas, but well-maintained. My most memorable experience at ONT airport was when a baggage claim lady helped me place a missing bag report as Houston's Frontier Airlines forgot to load my checked bag and sent over an other person's bag! The lady immediately asked for my information and my bag was quickly located. I received my bag a few days later (it was shipped to my house).

We were sure the phone is a goner and were devastated. Nevertheless, we informed Airport operations Raymond and Lost & Found Marji Meeks. They promptly opened a case. It was the busy July 4th week. They scheduled the elevator maintenance on any early morning(to not disturb passengers) and retrieved my phone. Luckily, the phone was not damaged. Since I am not local they promptly FedExed it to my Nor Cal address. Very happy with the service. Thanks to the airport maintenance crew and Lost & Found for retrieving and mailing my phone.

This general aviation airport, naturally long favorite of celebrities & biz heads, had its share of public scrutiny just like many other non commercial airports in California. Historic significance lays in the fact that famous DC-3 & military aircraft was produced by Douglas Aircraft Co in Santa Monica at the airport before it had moved to Long Beach. Famous tenants like Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise & Arnold Schwarzenegger, along with others, average daily 250 takeoffs & landings, that's a lot of noise! Neighbors in Santa Monica didn't want harmful exhaust, emissions, fueling, lead & carbon, pollution, and noise! At the same time, its use during WWII for military purposes had federal agreements for FAA to allow operations. So various aviation interests contended with the City of Santa Monica over its ownership. They reached the agreement after endless litigation to return the control of the airport land to the city. From parking just steps from the terminal to cruising through TSA, everything was fast and stress free. I went from putting my car in park to sitting at the gate in under five minutes, which felt almost suspiciously efficient. The waiting area is spacious with plenty of seating, so even hanging out before boarding was comfortable. Right now the limited flight options are the only downside, but if more routes are added someday, this airport would be hard to beat for convenience.
