I stopped by today and always get a warm fuzzy feeling in my no no place when I go in. they have it set up so that you can navigate the room groupings with ease. I am always on the hunt for fun dinning room chairs, as most of you know if you have come to a diner party at my house I don't have the best chairs to sit on. I came across a set of faux Saarinen chairs that made me squeel....I think I may be in luv.... It happened so fast the next thing I knew I was spinning uncontrollably like a little child, around and around, and around..... until the shop keep came by and asked me if I needed a hand, the only hand I needed was to help me out of the chair so I wouldn't fall over. needless to say they were a little out of my price range and sadly had to leave them behind... one day I will be back. oh and if you can't make it into their store they always list their wares on craigslist. read more

I had a poor customer service experience here, too, which sours me on the store altogether, because service is so important when you're dealing with one-of-a-kind items. They do have a lot of interesting pieces -- a mix of mid-century originals and new. After looking for a long time for something that could be both an end table and a cabinet for our liquor bottles (one that had a door, so kids couldn't get in), we finally found a lovely little teak bar at Fullhouse -- a small piece with a top that folded out into a ledge for mixing drinks. It was exactly what we needed. It wasn't cheap, but we'd been looking so long that we took it. Fast forward four months, and the piece came apart at one seam through what seemed like regular use. I don't know if it was a poor restoration job on their part or an accident on ours, so I wasn't blaming anyone. I thought surely the store could recommend someone with experience restoring mid-century antiques. When I went in, the salesperson looked at me like I was nuts, then said she'd try to find someone. She came back five minutes later with a print out of a barely literate e-mail, saying, "This guy e-mailed us -- don't know anything about him but you might try him." WHAT? They feel comfortable referring their customers to someone they don't know from Adam whose work they know nothing about? I'm not asking to be gushed all over Gap style, but seriously, I can't seem to get even a basic sign of recognition that I could be a potential buyer from anyone of their team. Dragging my feet from one furniture shop to another along S. Granville, I was starting to get modern-d out. On a mission for some shelves/storage I was desperately seeking something Un-Ikea. After a lot of browsing, measuring, humming and hawing and thinking, "This would be okay, I guess..." I breathed a breath of fresh, mid-century teak air and almost immediately fell in love with a hutch. If I had a bigger palace, I would be loading up a U-Haul and trucking it all back - but for now, Fullhouse is my place to go for "pieces" as I graduate from "Ikea" living to a mid-century modern girl. When you enter a store and the initial experience is to hear the management/owner yelling at staff you immediately wonder why anyone continues to work there. Then when you attempt to ask some questions about furniture and you're spoken to in an an incredibly demeaning manner you wonder how this store is still in business. In this time of COVID where we're hoping people be kind to each other I would hope that some perspective on what really matters would leave an impression on each other. This store may have some nice pieces I do not ever plan on returning as much as I wanted to support local business. If u seek something Different this is the place , staff is ok if u catch the owner in a good mood , they have now moved to another location , i yet not check it , will let u knw how the new store looks .. Our customer service experience was very poor. We found three items we wanted to buy that needed to be shipped. They took almost a week to put together a shipping price (which we actually never received), and we had call to remind them we needed. We spoke to several different people who all who seemed on top of it, citing holiday as causing a delay, so we weren't concerned. Finally on the day they promised they would have the quote ready, instead they emailed and said they sold the main item in our order to someone else. As someone in the process of furnishing a new house, shopping at stores with one-of-a-kind items, once you find something that actually works, it's pretty disappointing to deal with this kind of poor service. Our assumption from dealing with other second hand or antique dealers was that they wouldn't sell our stuff from underneath us, especially when it was their slowness that left the sale incomplete. read more

We recently bought a couch from full house, and it is great! But it took extra long to receive. They had told us one to two weeks max and it took almost six weeks. When I called to inquire they seemed annoyed by my questions, and told me to just wait for an email.The sales lady also told us it was a great " started couch" when we were buying. Which I found a little demeaning as the when the couch was over $3,000.00, too me a "starter couch" does not come with a $3,000 price tag. Yes this is one of my favourite places to come and check-out what I need to buy next year for my bedding and living room. Ahead of the trend, the cozy and almost-not-even-there store front makes you feel like you've stumbled upon something nobody knows in the city. Duvet covers, sheets and pillow covers are pricey, for a full-set you could be spending up to $300 easily. I wanted to preface my review by saying that I am not the type of person to complain or write bad reviews. However, my experience with Fullhouse Modern was so unprofessional I simply had to write a review. I bought two dressers from them at a good price. Because I had bought two items, they offered "free delivery". They sent one man to my place and I had to assist carrying the furniture. I thought at first it was really odd that a so-called professional establishment would not have 2 movers available and would ask the customer to assist with moving furniture. TO make a long story short, the mover ended up droping the dresser on me and the wall and damaged 2 walls in the stairwell, I called to complain to see if I could be reimbursed to have the walls fixed and they told me "it was minor" and that "spackle and sandpaper could fix it". In addition, because delivery was "free" it was "ok that there was minor damage" - i have this on voicemail!!! It shocked me. I then called back demanding that they at least cover the cost of the paint which they initially agreed to. I told them that the estimate to repair the walls was $175 (I spent $2300 on furniture). I subsequently received an email from the owner stating, "This email is to notify you not to contact our place of business via phone, email, mail or in person. If you do so, I will see your actions as harassment towards my business and its employees and I will act accordingly. This return email will be our final contact / correspondence with you." What kind of business treats customers like that? If the walls are damaged with the move would you not expect the repair cost to be covered by the company? My advice - STAY AWAY. by far the most unprofessional furniture store i have ever encountered. i will report them to the BBB. read more

We bought a beautiful dining table and coffee table here last year. We're very happy with the pieces, top quality for sure but based on the prices it should be. We skipped buying dining chairs from here as we couldn't stomach the cost. We ended up finding some on CL and had them re-upholstered all for about 50% less than here. I would agree about the service here, really depends on who you get. We had one person that was very helpful and knowledgeable. When we came back later to buy the pieces we dealt with the owner who was a little lacking in the customer service dept. There's a way to say "Sorry, we're unable to negotiate on the price" without offending the buyer. Instead, she was abrupt and somewhat rude about it, like we offended her. The reality is people want a little something when making a major purchase so leave a little room in the price or maybe a discount on the delivery. This is Sales 101...80%+ of people who have a negative or slightly negative experience won't purchase again from that business. If you're looking for MCM pieces for your place and $$ isn't an issue, definitely worth checking this place out. But if you're looking for a gem at a good price, I suggest CL. read more

A word of caution: They currently have a piece of 'art' for sale for $649 (textured dyed plastic stretched over a frame - i guess it simulates an oil painting) that I previously saw at Home Sense for $100 bucks or so. I found one on an Ontario website with free shipping in Canada for $100 less and got the colour I wanted. Very helpful reading these reviews. I was wondering if I was the only one having such offensive experiences. The sales staff is so appalling it's almost funny. I walked in ready to buy a couch I had looked at previously, (I thought maybe they were all just having a bad day the first time I was in)....the second time, I turned around, and walked right out. I was laughing by the time I got to my car....I think of the uber cool stores in NYC, LA, and Europe where they carry similar items...and they have the personalities to match. Last week I took delivery of a new custom sofa and dining room table from Fullhouse and had such a positive experience I feel compelled to post here and acknowledge how pleased I am with my dealings with this business. I've been shopping at Fullhouse for over 6 years and love every one of my many purchases. I find the staff to be very knowledgable, pleasant and professional right from time of purchase through until delivery. I never feel welcome in this store. The staff and the owner seem to think that they are doing their customers a great favour just by being there. Who are they kidding? Do yourself a favour and take your business somewhere else. Walk down a couple of blocks to 2nd and Pine, go visit Mary and Dana at Metropolitan Home, and see how they treat you. I have never bought anything from them, but they always acknowledge me when I walk in and give me detailed description on each piece. Also, if you want a table that's one of a kind, go to Design House on Homer St. and ask Steve Miller to make one for you. There is no reason for you to put up with such bad service at Full House Modern. At first, I thought maybe they were just rude to me, but many of the previous reviews have confirmed that I am not the only one. I won't be shopping at Full House Modern any more. If you love mid-century design, you will fall for Fullhouse where they have high quality furnishings that range from art-deco lamps to the 1970s teak bookcases your parents undoubtedly had. Much of what they carry is used, but they manage to have a predictably large array of dining tables and chairs, desks, dressers and other large pieces mostly from about the 50s - 70s along with a number of quirky accessories from the same period and earlier. Think Funky Japanese lamps, coloured glass vases and ashtrays (from a period when you were allowed to smoke), and other period accessories to turn your home into a stylized set circa the summer of love (or thereabouts). But don't think this place is kitchy; it's anything but. It manages to keep only quality pieces that are in good shape in spite of their age, and everything in this store is laid out in an attractive and easy-to-find manner. They also have a number of modern/contemporary decor pieces such as pillows and pillow covers, other linens and they also will also cover or re-cover your couches from a selection of tasteful upholsteries. If nothing else this place is good for waking up you inner designer, even if you don't walk out of the store with anything but inspiration. read more

Let me start by saying, Fullhouse sells many beautiful products. But the fact of the matter is that the customer 'service' is so unbelievably poor, there is no question that you would be wise to avoid Fullhouse. In particular, the owner Jennifer is the most rude and frankly offensive person I could imagine. When there was some minor damage to my purchase that was noticed less than 5 minutes after pickup, she claimed that she 'couldn't verify where the damage occurred'. This was after her equally incompetent, rude, and arrogant sales person Stephen vocalized that he knew about the damage to the product before it left she showroom. He of course changed his story and they both spoke to me in a rude and condescending way. This culminated in her telling me that she 'deals with the likes of you ever other month'. Wow. I ended up speaking directly to the distributor of my product (Gus* - a great company!) and they ended up helping me out directly. Overall, please do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. People who treat customers like this deserve to fail and I hope to see a going out of business sale in the window of the store soon. read more
