So, here is my honest review about Dr. Robert Fulop and Dr. Elizabeth Maddela, and the rest of the amazing staff: I have been a patient of Drs. Robert Fulop and Elizabeth Maddela for many years now, and I can't say enough good things about them and their entire staff. These two doctors truly put their patients first and always listen intently to understand the full scope of any issues we are facing. Their diagnostic skills are unparalleled - they have an incredible ability to get to the root cause of any ailment, no matter how complex. On multiple occasions, I have had to call the office for urgent or emergency appointments, and the staff has always been incredible at finding a way to get me in to see one of the doctors right away. The level of care and responsiveness is unlike anything I've experienced at other medical practices. The entire staff, from Melissa, Tiffany, Michelle & the rest of the staff at the front desk, are all incredibly kind, knowledgeable and helpful. They go above and beyond to ensure a positive experience for every single patient. I trust Dr. Fulop and Dr. Maddela implicitly with my health and wellbeing. Their dedication to providing the highest quality care is evident in everything they do. Doctor Fulop is the very best Doctor in Staten Island NY. I have been his patient since over 40 years.

My very close loved ones use this doctor and don't understand why. Over the past ten years I've heard horror stories about this place and have been begging them to stop seeing this quack. Expect to spend in total 3-4 hours in this place from the start of your appointment to when you decide to run the hell out. Both the Doctor and the front desk miserable sloths can't keep appointments and have zero respect for your time. Forget about emergencies. If you ever need to speak to the doctor in the case of an emergency or if you simply need advice the doctor won't come to the phone nor will he return your phone call within a reasonable amount of time. Don't expect a call back till 7-8 pm. The problem is that Dr. Fulop takes on too many patients and sets too many appointments. Money hungry? I guarantee you that if he only took on half the amount of people he usually takes on in a given day it wouldn't be all that hectic and the wait times would be much smaller. And after all of that you only see the doctor for about 10 minutes! The end. read more

Personally I would not give even 1 star! I was released from the hospital with broken ribs, tailbone and several fractures in the thoracic part of my spine. I have osteoporosis and have had prior fractures. i took a bad fall down the steps. I was told upon release to follow up with my primary doctor; Dr. Elizabeth Maddela who i love however she was on vacation. After leaving 2 in depth messages 2 days in a row stating i needed a script for my Boniva which i am to take every month on the same day I WAS IGNORED!!! I left another message with the service and again was ignored. I do not believe i should be ignored having been a patient for a few years. I just wish they cared more about someone who is relying on them. I'm extremely disappointed. read more

would. someone please tell Dr. Fulop that when a patient is waiting, that is not the time to call a meeting of his associates to bull crap about personal things! This is not the first time I waiting in the exam room, the last patient of the day only to have the good doctor pull MY doctor aside to discuss why his cell phone wasn't getting messages! Is rude and unprofessional to keep the patient waiting. And when the doctor does come in she rushes me in for an EKG because they are closing! I was there at 6:10 for a 6:15 appointment. If you are closing, I guess Dr. Fulop blabbed too long! Shut up and patients will get out on a timely basis. read more

I like Dr Fulop. The wait can be awful. As one reviewer says, try for earliest appointment in day. If you have a later appointment, expect to wait 30-90 minutes. Receptionists are fairly grumpy, but competent. Nursing staff generally cheerful and good. Dr Fulop himself has always been attentive and spot on with is diagnostics. However, he does sometimes seem distracted. I suspect he does better with men than women. (My wife goes to a different Dr in same practice and does not like him - although she says he has never not been effective). If you want a great Dr, and can schedule early appointments, or are happy to wait. Cannot recommend him enough. In addition, the other Dr's in the practice are great - personal experience of one and my wife swears by the other. read more

Dr. Robert Fulop's office is like staying in a mildly satisfying relationship: it's convenient and I'm too lazy to find another. If you're lucky get the earliest appointment available. Anything after 11 AM is a crap shoot. I've waited upwards of 2 hours for a 5 minute appointment. The doctor does listen and has usually been pretty good with prescribing and finding the right treatment. The staff is mostly friendly but they can have an attitude. I guess it's understandable when you have very irritable sick people asking you how many people are in front of them every 10 minutes, but then again someone should keep the doctor in check when they're running beyond by, like, 6 patients. Is he the best on the Island? Doubtful but he's definitely not the worst. read more

If I could give this place a zero, I would. The behaviors I am about to mention have been consistent over a 2 year period. Today, I had an appt scheduled at 1pm. When I walked in, there were about 9 people waiting and one cited he had been waiting since 11am for his appt. Even scheduling the appt was a pain, as I kept being placed on hold. When I would call again, they would answer right away. For a place with more than 1 doctor, and more than 1 secretary, this is a little shady. This has happened more than once both on weekdays and weekends. If you want to wait three hours, then book this place. But I can say this for sure: the 3 hours won't be for quality service. I've been misdiagnosed in the past and sent to the hospital (being told to be ready for surgery the next morning). Hope this place straightens up their act because their reviews on Google are horrible as well and because of true, consistent behaviors. read more

After one hour of waiting to do regular check up I explained to the staff that my time is as valuable as Dr Fulop's time, I actually feel offending when I have to wait for long time to see a doctor, they think they better than average people. read more

i would highly recommend not visiting with this doctor... his office staff is absolutely unhelpful.. no matter what you need from them the only answer they respond with is NO... and God forbid you left their office without paying your co-pay, the doctor will not see you unless you pay that co-pay. They will send you away no matter how sick you are. My husband was diagnosed with cancer and needed a referral since his insurance was out of network and he needed to see his doctor at Sloan. They refused to give a referral. I found another doctor immediatly and got the referral. Dr. Fulop can handle the common cold or may be a head ache but anything critical I would warn you to stay away from his practice. You will lose a lot of precious time arguing and getting no where! read more
