People don't come because of the fear of parking and congestion. They're located in what was once Woolworth's, a place I spent hours in as a child. There are two entrances - one facing Lancaster and one in the rear off Cricket Ave. I go there now for Halloween supplies - fake blood, costumes, props, for general party supplies and for wrapping paper supplies. They are slightly more expensive than big box stores or online , sure. Their quality is very good, often better. Plus, you're supporting a local business. The other thing they do are done pretty spectacular ballon decorations as well as on-the-spot sales of regular and Mylar balloons. I have my eye on a 15' tall Jack Skellington Mylar balloon that is amazing. Parking is more limited, though there are spots between the new construction ant the existing buildings for use, and Party Place Depot has a 15 min loading zone by their rear entrance. They're also 1/2 block from the Ardmore train & bus stations. The people who work there are generally nice and helpful. It's an old building so it's not super fancy. They have a wide variety of items though. It's worth the extra to buy here, both in effort and the price differentials from the mega-store-conglomerates. I'm definitely going back. To my surprise, the place looked like it was closing down when I walked in. There was barely any inventory. I came in to buy balloons but had almost no options to choose from. I had to order individual balloons from behind the counter, which ended up costing me about $25. (For balloons, this is expensive.) I called to make sure they had the balloon and told the young lady I would be there in the evening to pick up. Party Place is nestled in the corner of Burtonsville shopping center. Getting into this shopping area can be complex but I was able to find a spot this Saturday evening. The store is small but has a vast variety of balloons, party decor, utensils, holiday decorations & more. A young lady name Ena assisted me and she was super sweet & pleasant. I walked through the store while she blowed up my balloon and I ended up adding a few more balloons along with some decor for the table & cake. The Party Place will now be my go-to spot for balloons & more. They are affordable, the store front is clean, there's no long wait and service by Ena was great. I went in for 1 item, came out with 6 lol.
