Absolutely delicious!! Fulu is that restaurant that you don't want to miss. The customer service is top notch. Everyone in the restaurant is not only super friendly, super nice, but they make you feel welcomed from the moment you step through the front door. We ordered the Gyoza, and they were perfect. The filling was seasoned well, and the dipping sauce was perfect. The only thing missing was... Just more lol I think we could've devoured two orders easily. Pork belly stirfry was top notch, and I was blown away by the flavors and taste. I don't think I've ever experienced anything this tasty like this. We finished the entire order. The pork belly was perfectly seasoned and meaty, and each bite was a little bit of heaven on the fork. We decided that we wanted to top off the meal with a local favorite dessert. The pumpkin bundts were delectable! I'm normally not a fan of pumpkin, but these literally were perfect. Moist, tasty, and ironically, not over the top sweet. It was a great way to finish off an amazing meal. Fulu is a five star plus experience!

The portions here are definitely generous, so you won't leave hungry. The food itself was okay in taste, nothing particularly memorable but not bad either. The service, however, felt a bit cold and distant, which made the overall experience less welcoming. Charging €2.50 per person for tap water also seemed excessive. A small gesture like a thank you at the end of the meal after settling the bill would have been nice

We came here wanting a break from European food during our trip, but Fulu completely exceeded my expectations. Sizable portions, reasonable prices, and delicious food make this a no-brainer for anyone looking for some solid Chinese food in the area. Our favorite was the sweet and sour fish, extremely tender and lightly fried with a crisp. Everything else was great as well!

Absolutely worthwhile to try! But be warned you may need reservations if you stop by for dinner. Since we decided to walk in we luckily got seated in the third floor which included scaling a pretty narrow staircase to the top floor. Our party of 4 got to share one of the larger tables with a mother daughter party of two. We decided to order up some of the house favorites, spicy cold pork belly, the garlic fish stew adding vermicelli and tofu skin, and the garlic choi sun veggie. You get to view the menu on an iPad but place your order with the staff. The pork belly came out with amazing presentation, there was dry ice and the pork belly laid atop a spicy sauce. The pork itself was sliced thinly and soaked up the hot oil pretty well. I wouldn't say this dish was too spicy as my family who doesn't really eat spicy faired pretty well. The fish was the true highlight of the meal. It comes in a pretty large portion and soaks up all the garlicy broth. I would highly recommend adding the vermicelli as it gets to continue to steep in the delicious broth. The fish itself was tender and had bones that were easy to pick out. Just be cautious that you will encounter a stray bone or two. As the dish comes with a little fire underneath it stays bubbling and hot for the duration of your meal. We ordered waters and which came out to be 1.50 each but they didn't charge us for refills which was nice. Although the dishes can be on the pricier side it's worth a try if you are craving spicy or garlicy Chinese food and in Amsterdam.

Some Asian people in Amsterdam regard Fulu as the best Chinese restaurant in town. I can see why but my experience was just average. You can tell they cater to non-Chinese with interesting/elaborate presentation of their food/drinks. For example, my old fashioned had a spherical ice cube with an orange peel frozen inside--awesome! I was craving peking duck so I ordered it here. It was not bad, not the best, there was not a lot of meat, and they don't cut it tableside. I mean, it's not a place that specializes in peking duck, so I can't be too upset. I wouldn't get it again, but it did satisfy the craving. The other dishes we got weren't bad! I think service was average and prices were a little high (bottled water was like $7). I get it, they're pretty popular so they can charge whatever they want. At any rate, I don't really regret coming here, but likely won't be back. If you just want straight up Chinese food without frills, go elsewhere.

Absolutely amazing Chinese food in Amsterdam! I was very surprised to find something that tasted that authentic. It's located in a very busy street and not hard to find. Once you walk up to the front desk, you'll be greeted by a host. Seems like if you have reservations, you'll be seated at the top level and if you don't have reservations, you'll be seated at the first level. My party of 2 didn't have reservations so we waited about 20-30 mins for a table on a weekday. Upon entering the restaurant, it's very clean and stylish. My only feedback was that it was very hot inside. The food overall was delicious. You'll place your order on a tablet and the hostess will confirm. Hot & Spicy soup was great and perfect to start my meal. The Szechuan style chicken was great, but was a bit different than what I'm used to (coming from Los Angeles), hard to describe. Otherwise, the numbing spice was great and not too hot (I was sweating like crazy from the spice and the hot room). Lastly, the plum juice was perfect! I order this occasionally, but it's usually too salty, not here! Tip, you will get charged for tap water unless you order drinks like the plum juice or soda. Prices were on the higher side but you'll understand why after tasting the food quality and seeing the presentation. Service was on par. They were very attentive and stopped by our table very often. I'd recommend this place to anyone who's looking for Asian food while traveling to Amsterdam (maybe you just need a break from stroopwafel).

So decided on an impromptu trip to Amsterdam as I was feeling the need for some fresh air and decided a hop across the pond would be a great way to blow off some steam. After a few days of being in Amsterdam, I started getting the hankering for some spicy Asian food as I was bitterballen'ed out. I did a quick search near the hotel and found this joint being not too far and with high ratings. I was a bit skeptical up front going into this joint as my experience with Asian restaurants in Europe are very hit or miss. With that said, my hankering was too strong so I made my way over for dinner one night. This joint has a two floor setup and they did seem to be really busy. They also did have tags on certain tables saying "reserved" which led me to believe that reservations are possible and potentially not a bad idea especially if you have a bigger group. There were lots of people but almost every table had at least one Asian person eating so it seemed the menu agreed with many folks. Speaking of menu, this thing is the most extensive menu I have seen for a Sichuan restaurant. They literally have anything and everything you might want if you are familiar with Sichuan cuisine. They also mark some of the "popular hits" for those who may not be familiar. After a quick search, I decided to just go with my "usuals" which was the twice cooked pork, mapo tofu, and some dumplings (just to combat some of the spice filled options). They also have a bar which serves cocktails which I found interesting as that is not a common sight in the states. The service here was rapid pace and no frills. The presentations of the dishes and the quality was actually quite good. I was very pleasantly surprised to see the authenticity of the dishes and would rate it above average and in line with lots of Sichuan places I have been to. I would first of all, skip cocktails... I got intrigued but it wasn't quite worth it. The twice cooked pork had a good portion and was not dripping in just pure oil but actually good texture, good flavors, and good balance. The mapo tofu was really good as well. Good flavors, good use of all the spices and obviously spicy as expected. The dumplings were also very good and not just the "frozen stuff" so solid. This place is really solid and definitely good (not just by Europe standards) but generally. I will say that the price here is extremely high. For the entire meal, I ended up spending around $93 Euros which is outrageous but the quality was good, the authenticity was good, and the service was rapid/no frills. Would be a 5 star review but will say that some folks may be taken aback by the price.

Went to eat dinner at Fulu Mandarijn with my Chinese friends. We all enjoyed the food very much, my friends told me the food tasted very authentic. The service was quick and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very nice.

    Green beans with red chili

We were looking for a dinner spot near our hotel and found Fulu on Yelp. Every dish tasted authentic. We tried a number of dishes: pork/shrimp fried rice - rice was well-seasoned and so flavorful, shrimp with ginger and spring onions - tasty and balanced, stirred fry green beans with red chili - tender with a bit of spice and full of flavor, fried dumplings with chicken and vegetables - lightly crisped and the filling was so good, dry-fried chicken with chili peppers - watch out this one is spicy but worth every bite, and beef tenderloin with black pepper sauce - meat was tender and vegetables were crunchy. The meal reminded us of the dishes from our child hood. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The place looks a bit unassuming from the outside, but once you walk up the stairs, into the dining area, it's a lovely space. My friends and I highly recommend Fulu! It was one of our best meals while visiting Amsterdam.

Everything on the menu is amazing. It's spicy but not so spicy that it's unbearable for non-Asians who have only eaten bitterballen all their lives. Make reservations if you have a big group. It's also smack in the middle of everything and right next to Dam Square. Highly recommended.

It's a multi-level restaurant that stays packed during prime hours, which is always a good sign for the food quality. They serve Dim Sum all day, which is a huge plus. The flavors are very traditional. While the Dim Sum was solid across the board, the Beef Chow Fun was the absolute standout--perfectly prepared with that signature "wok hei" (breath of the wok). The staff isn't necessarily warm and fuzzy, but they are efficient. Don't expect a long chat, but you'll get your food quickly. Be prepared for a bit of a climb; the restaurant spans several floors and it appears to be stairs-only. It gets very crowded, so timing your visit is key. A must-visit for Chinese food fans in Amsterdam. Just be ready for a lively, busy environment!

Their menu is impressively large and the dining room is small but inviting. Prices are quite high, but you are in a tourist area. We ordered a Kung pao chicken and a chicken fried rice to share. The chicken fried rice was fine but contained very little chicken. My house white wine at 4.5 was fine as well as hubby had a Heineken. The biggest issue was the many Gnats that just descended on us once our wine arrived. If you zoom in on the picture, there were quite a few just hanging out after our plate we removed. We have been to many restaurants since we arrived here and this is the first with this issue. It got even worse once our food arrived. Very irritating. Service was just ok. We were here at a weird time because we are very jet lagged and trying to get on the time zone (needed dinner early). The staff were having their dinner so we felt a bit of a nuisance.
