This dim sum and Hong Kong BBQ place is delicious! The prices are a bit much but the food is awesome! The menu is massive and a bit overwhelming, but lots of options in case you don't want dim sum. Service is great and the ambiance is comfortable and nice. We got a window seat, which was awesome!! I thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambiance!

Awesome place. Very traditional cantonese restaurant in the heart of Leidseplein - so close to the center and also the non-touristy areas of Amsterdam. I've stayed at the Marriott for years and never went here...I always trudged up to crowded Chinatown. Not anymore, this place seems better than most places up there. If anything is better it is the dining area. Very nicely appointed with a nice view if you're near the window. By the way, they don't serve tap water, only bottled water or tea. Quite common here, which is odd since the tap water is so good. Whether takeaway, delivery or eat in, this is a good choice.

Delicious food! One of the best pan fried noodles we've ever had. Also, our servers were very attentive. We will definitely be back.

We arrived around 4:30, and it was not a problem getting a table although the place was busy. They sat us in the window looking out on the street. The service was prompt, and the menu had a lot of options. We placed an order for seven different small dishes. In short order, the dishes arrived one by one. We were tired from the flight over, but the food picked us up. We got the chicken dumplings, the pork dumplings, the minced beef meatballs, an onion pancake, spring rolls, and a few more items. Everything seemed freshly cooked. The food was good but did not wow us. They give you soy sauce for the dim sum, but I would have liked additional sauces. I did ask for some hot sauce, and they brought me a chili oil sauce which was very good. The staff were very friendly and happy to help with any request. The price was reasonable (two of us for under $50 Euros). The decor is neat and clean. I would definitely recommend.

It's a multi-level restaurant that stays packed during prime hours, which is always a good sign for the food quality. They serve Dim Sum all day, which is a huge plus. The flavors are very traditional. While the Dim Sum was solid across the board, the Beef Chow Fun was the absolute standout--perfectly prepared with that signature "wok hei" (breath of the wok). The staff isn't necessarily warm and fuzzy, but they are efficient. Don't expect a long chat, but you'll get your food quickly. Be prepared for a bit of a climb; the restaurant spans several floors and it appears to be stairs-only. It gets very crowded, so timing your visit is key. A must-visit for Chinese food fans in Amsterdam. Just be ready for a lively, busy environment!

As someone who had…read morelived in places with internationally renowned Chinatowns, Hoi Tin is decent but nothing super spectacular. The restaurant was pretty busy and laid out in a weird place with the toilet up some stairs (not the most accessible). We came for dinner and sadly their bakery was closed and they were out of egg tarts. The beef fried noodles were my favorite, the wonton noodles were good, but the broth could have had more flavor. Nothing wrong with it, just maybe I expected more. Overall I'd give this place 3.5 stars because it was just fine, but since I can't do half stars I'll round it up to 4. Despite the score I gave it I'd probably still come back to try their bakery.

On a plus note (and yes this is a plus note) it's a nice place and kinda indistinguishable from any restaurant I'd find in Chinatown San Francisco. That's high praise. There's a line (I think we had a reservation) and you'll wait either way but again that's par for course. There's some dim sum and some other main entrees and it was all solid. Probably one of the better spots in the city actually...so don't miss it if some solid Chinese food is what you're after.
