I was looking for a place for both of my daughters to go to, after their initial daycare unfortunately closed down to due family health reasons. Things were not working out as planned at another daycare closer to me, and that is when a friend of my husband's mentioned going to Regina's instead. We were, and still are to this day, very fortunate for the referral. My oldest daughter spent about 9 months at Regina's until she was able to attend Kindergarten at Bancroft. I appreciated that Regina and her helpers created not only a positive experience for learning, but a nurturing environment for her growth on all spectrums. My daughter was a bit in-shock from changing daycare environments, and I appreciate the dedication and sensitivity to help overcome that. While I am impressed how much my oldest daughter was able to change and grow, my youngest daughter made some unbelievable milestones here -- and they are a reflection of how great this daycare really is. She benefitted greatly to receive about two years of care here before she moved onto TK a couple months ago. She was initially having trouble walking (late walker), and Regina recommended a type of boot to help her gain confidence with walking. Sure enough, she was able to navigate as soon as they were on her feet. The magic did not stop there. What sets this place apart, and this is something even my husband's friend mentioned is that Regina's place displays a strong outpouring of empathy. They teach the kids kindness, how to look out for each other, and how to be a good soul. That is difficult to find anywhere, let alone, something that is even remotely taught today. The empathy was mentioned by BOTH of my daughers' teachers; when I attended a parent/teacher conference earlier in the week. My oldest daughter is one of the top students in her class academically, and so is my youngest! My youngest daughter's teacher mentioned to me it is unusual for a 4 year-old to be able to know most, if not all of her alphabet, but have the ability to differentiate between upper and lower case letters. She is also apparently the only one in her class that can count past 5, and up to 100. I even enclosed the test results below this review, so you can see how she did. She did goof on one letter for each, but still... 25 out of 26 is amazing! I want to also add Regina taught opposite words, how to write numbers, alphabet letters, learning about the seasons/days/months, TONS of hands-on enrichment activities, music (Regina is an amazing piano player!), and private links to YouTube videos of their holiday celebrations. Regina paved the way academically, as well as leaving everlasting impressions that carried through that I am absolutely appreciative of. I am forever grateful and thankful. I really am. Regina's daycare is worth its weight in gold. The education, TLC, social interactions, carefully-crafted home cooked meals, and structure are truly the building blocks for the small group of diverse children under her care. Our son has been going to this daycare for about three years and it was the best decision, especially during the early days of the pandemic. My son was attending Regina's daycare from his age of 2.5 y.o. until he turned 5 y.o. this summer. So, I'd like to share my feedback on this daycare with other parents and hope it can be useful for someone. First of all, let me try to list the most important skills my son gained here. I am happy to say that my kid is 100% ready for school. He knows the alphabet, can count till 100, he knows how to write his name, other letters and numbers and many other things from pre-school program. He even knows all dinosaurs types (which I don't :))! All the knowledges mentioned above came from Regina's daycare and we are very grateful for this to her and her employees! On top of it, our kid now can easily communicate in English (his native language is Russian), which is also a merit of this daycare. And last but not least what he's learnt here is how to interact with other kids, how to play together, share toys and make friends! He has made his first best friend here. Another thing we loved about Regina's daycare is home-cooked meal: chicken-noodle soup, porridge, omelette, cutlets (meat patties). My kid is usually asking me on the weekend: "Mom, please cook eggs or cutlets for me like Vera (Regina's employee) does!" OMG, I wish somebody could cook for us such meal every day! The kids in this daycare are following the daily routine with learning time, nap, play time, including time outside. The work on some projects for the national holidays or father/mother days. Regina is providing parents with the pictures of such activities and videos of the holidays celebration. Also, Regina is organizing fantastic kids Birthday parties with all the decorations, singing songs and playing different games. If we had not have to move to Florida, we would have our kid stay in this daycare on an after-school care basis to allow him play with his friends, have healthy food and professional services. My review is based on the professionalism of Regina. I cannot speak to her skills as a care provider. I contacted Regina and had a tour while I was still 4 months pregnant to set up day care for my son when he was 3 months old because I knew that I needed to set things up way in advance. I had a tour and felt comfortable to let her know that I wanted to enroll him. She told me to call a couple months before he would start so that I could pay the deposit and check in. I called in October 2018 (he was born Sept 2018) to check in. She said that since I wanted to start in January that I could pay deposit and call back in early December. When I called on Dec 8th, I was told that there was no longer space for my son because the child that we were taking the spot of was no longer finishing up in January and that we would need to wait a few additional months. Very unprofessional and now I am in a very difficult situation, scrambling for day care a few weeks before I need to go back to work. DO NOT RELY ON THIS PROVIDER. Look elsewhere if you have the time to do so. read more

My daughter has attended Fun and Learning daycare from 1.5 years to 3 years old and it has been a wonderful experience. We had a hard time finding child care and Regina fit our requirements perfectly. Miss Regina and her helpers have always provided a loving, safe, and nurturing atmosphere - including homemade meals which is amazing. They do so much to make for a fun atmosphere providing parties for birthdays and holidays with decorations, gifts, treats, and best of all arts and crafts projects! They were always willing to accommodate the needs of my daughter and the other children (even modifying nap time lengths). As my daughter got older, it was clear Regina tailors her program to be as much a preschool as a daycare teaching numbers, ABC's, colors, animals you name it (and so often my daughter would come home with worksheets showing the letter of the day they learned!). My daughter was always excited to go and happy when she came home. I am writing this review to share the wonderful experience I had and highly recommend Fun and Learning daycare. read more

I would like to note that the manager, Regina, is quite disciplined, very clean and knows what she is doing generally. My child was at her daycare for about a year. Regina and her assistant Vera are solid awesome Soviet style ladies. I think they make very food home style food also. I am really pleased with them. They are, however, older (no offence) so they are not active and do not spend much time outdoors. I do think their traditional Russian/Soviet approach and educational arts activities are great though and may compensate for the lack of outdoors - kids are clean, fed, educated. I personally found lots of impudence in the style of the main lady in charge and could not handle it being a gentler soul so we had to part our ways. Many of my Russian friends dislike this place for plastic toys and a shoebox like backyard but I did want to make it clear Vera and Regina are great. Definitely not a place to get a stomach bug :-)! Our daughter has been attending Regina's daycare for about a year, and she loves it. She is always excited to go to Miss. Regina's, and talks about the children and the staff constantly. She is now 2, and has learned so much, including many of her letters and numbers, since being in Regina's care. Regina has daily circle time, regular music lessons, and age-appropriate activities for all the children, and they go outside daily, weather permitting. Our daughter comes home with projects multiple times per week. You can tell Regina takes pride and time in planning thoughtful activities for the holidays, seasons, and just daily learning. She throws birthday parties and parties for holidays. As parents, we get pictures and videos on a regular basis. Regina provides healthy meals and snacks, and her place is very clean and organized. Regina keeps us informed about what our children are doing, and how they are doing while we are at work. Updated post- Just so that the people in disbelief or those that don't believe what has been said- licensing confirmed and validated the dark garage being Used for time outs. The other issues couldn't be confirmed. But I'll repeat every issue I mention in my review the owner admitted to me herself. My son had been going to this daycare since 2012 and my daughter since 2013. However I urgently pulled my children from this daycare due to repeated concerns I have expressed to the owner over her helper Oksana. I tried to be patient with my concerns and I have documented conversations I've had with the owner that are exactly what Anna mentioned in her review. We picked this daycare because there were not very many children. I even referred a friend here. Initially it was wonderful. Then suddenly helpers were coming and leaving weekly. The owner wouldn't notify parents or even introduce them. Even after being asked to. We are not shown documentation that the helpers are CPR certified or anything. I've asked Regina and she simply tells me they are. Regina leaves the children with the helpers to run errands and parents have a right to know who is watching their children and If they are capable of handling a medical emergency. Oksana has been there quite some time and my son has expressed to me that she yells at him a lot. I text the owner asking about this. The owner called my son a liar. Regina, the owner admitted herself to me that oksana called my 4 year old a baby and put in a high chair on time out. I asked her to stop this immediately and that it was inappropriate and degrading to him, and she said she would tell her. I also had to ask them to stop feeding my son if he refused to eat. I wasn't aware however that it would he done so quickly the kids would almost choke, as Anna stated. Regina also confirmed while I was on the phone with her that oksana put my daughter in the garage on time out because she didn't want to nap and was disturbing the other children. Her home is not large enough for the amount of children she has. When I've picked my kids up early or right after nap the beds are lined up into the entry way of the home along the staircase. The person I referred to her wouldn't put her second child there because she also noticed that the babies that were there were always in the playpen or in their car seats. I brought this to Regina's attention as well. Just because you're allowed to have X amount of children per adult according to license doesn't mean you SHOULD or its safe. I've witnessed kids standing up in their highchairs, which is dangerous. I'm sorry I will not overlook safety concerns. I had to move my children. My sons behavior changed and he became more emotional than normal. I have no reason to lie as my kids went there for years as well. This was a very difficult decision for me. I've missed work keeping my children home until I found another daycare. I put them in a preschool. I ask my kids daily how they feel, and I ask them if they are happy. I made every effort to tell the owner of my concerns. She gets good money to watch these children and has no right to act as though a parent has no right to call out clear safety issues or mistreatment. Unless it was just my children being treated differently. Maybe Anna should ask her friend that worked there to speak up. the owner has more kids than she personally can handle and she has had a hard time with helpers coming and going. What I think some of the offended posters are missing is this has more to do with oksana than Regina. However, if Regina allows a helper to treat the children in a less than loving way then she is just as wrong. We pay Regina. Not Oksana. My kids miss their friends. And that's all that they miss. People that are upset aren't understanding that every single thing that I have written Regina acknowledged as happening. If the other parents children weren't being treated the way my children were being treated then that's a whole new problem for me. What reason don't have to lie? This has been a huge inconvenience for me. And again, unless Regina is now lying to parents she has admitted these things when I've spoken to her. read more

I feel so fortunate to have found Regina's day care. We started looking for childcare for our son when he was 6 months old and I read all the yelp reviews. Although I was concerned about the garage complaint I decided to visit the day care and meet Regina in person. My husband and I are so grateful that we did! Regina and her helpers obviously care about children very much and we were immediately struck by the cleanliness, organization and overall well-behaved children at her facility. All the kids are so sweet and I have never observed Regina or any of her staff being any less than kind and patient with the children. We have been with Regina for 3 months now and my son is so happy to go see her and his little friends! He has matured significantly since he started to see her and I really appreciate Regina's regular schedule- it has encouraged us to keep to a routine for our son, which has resulted in a happier baby! I can tell that Regina is very knowledgeable in caring for children and I have really been blown away by her attention to detail. She's always cooking something homemade that makes me want to stay for lunch and she decorates for all the holidays! My son turned one a few weeks ago and I was so touched that she threw him a birthday party and encouraged the other children to bring small gifts. The other parents I have met have been very nice and I can tell there is mutual respect. Regina and her staff go out of their way to help the children make mementos to recognize the holidays (which I treasure because I don't have the time or patience to paint my baby's feet and deal with the cleanup haha!). I can tell Regina runs a tight ship because she always addresses any issues (eg not napping at appropriate times) efficiently but politely. I also appreciate that she really makes an effort to teach her little charges- she models her facility as much like a preschool as is possible when you have a mix of ages. We are disgusted and absolutely disagree with the last review. It is very suspicious. Our daughter goes to this Daycare 4 years and we are so happy to know Regina (owner) and her team. It used to happen often that my daughter told me on weekends: 'Mom, I want to go to Regina's school all 7 days, not only 5 days'. So many times when parents picked their kids up, I witnessed that children didn't want to leave their teacher and Daycare. I trust Regina like I would trust my own mother or my own sister, because I saw her unbiased love and care for every child individually. We are very happy with Fun and Learning Childcare and Regina! But let me start from the very beginning. Our daughter has been with Regina for almost 4 years and convenient location of Fun and Learning Center ( which is pretty close to Treat and Oak Grove Rd crossroads) was a primary reason why we decided to try this childcare. However when it comes to our kids location, location and location is not everything, so we as many other families wanted to make sure that this daycare not only provides safe environment and right education system but most importantly treats kids with sincere love and care. So at the beginning I would ask my daughter a lot of questions about her experience with this Childcare. Questions like: " what do you like about your morning hours? how do you spend your after nap time? Who is your favorite teacher( helper) and why?" and so on. Furthermore, I would stop by Fun and Learning Childcare on differe time of the day under various excuses. For example if Regina asked me to bring more diapered I would stop by in the middle of the day to see what's going on in the daycare. I would even listen for a couple of minutes behind the door before I rung the doorbell. Everything was as we expected and wanted it to be. On the other hand our daughter has been extremely happy with Regina, her helpers, with fun and learning exercises, games and activities they had in Fun and Learning Childcare. I have no idea where negative reviews come from , because for 4 years we have been experiencing totally opposite. My infant son also seems happy there and they are very good about informing us regarding his sleeping, eating, and overall health. I highly recommend Regina's daycare to trust your kid. Like any parent, I really had a hard time to take that step to put my child in a daycare, to trust my son to another person at the age of 2 was just nerve racking. After doing some research I decided to give it a try with Regina and we did not regret it. My son just loved it, everyday he just wanted to go to her place and everyday he came back happy. A normal day at Regina's is a very structural routine, the kids have breakfast, they do educational activities, lunch and nap time, and later snack and play time. With Regina's and caregivers support my son by the age of 3 learned the abc, numbers, animals and many other things. We moved overseas almost two months ago and the only thing I had a hard time to let go was Regina's care. I was a bit taken aback by some reviews here from people who don't even have first hand experience with this day care. If there is a helper that had problems with the way things are done, it should be that person writing a review and not some "friend". We've been bringing our son to Fun and Learning Childcare since he was 3 months old and my daughter since she was 5 months old. In more than 2 years my children have received good and loving care, which I think has helped my son develop at a fast pace. Even before he was 2 years old he was already eating by himself. Soon after 2 he could count from 1-10 and backwards, and by 2.5 he could read the alphabet, having learned that not from us but at the day care. Often times he doesn't want to leave the day care when we pick him up, and Regina has always been very loving to our children. When I interviewed Regina while looking for a day care she assured me, and I trust her, that she does not force children to eat if they don't want to. She cooks fresh meals for the kids, with vegetables and fruits daily. We are very impressed by the different activities she organizes for the children, from everyday painting and manual works to birthday and holiday parties. Regarding her helpers, we know Oksana, she has been there for a while and has shown herself very caring to both our children. While it is true that there was a period of quick turn around with her helpers, it's not the case anymore. It must be hard to find good help and we trust that Regina takes careful consideration with the applicants. Overall, we are really happy we found Regina's day care, and we are truly thankful to her for the love and care she gives to our children. read more

I have all 3 of my kids attending Regina's childcare. I trust Regina completely. She takes wonderful care of all 3 of my kids. I am never worried or stressed out that my kids will be harmed or treated poorly. To add, Regina's helpers are extremely kind, caring, attentive and patient with kids. We totally disagree with Anna P. 's review about Fun and Learning Childcare. All her facts are false statements. My husband and I have been bringing our son to this Childcare for 4,5 years and he is a happy kid and alway talk about Regina( the owner) and misses her and his friends over weekends. She loves kids, putting a lot of energy to make this place cheerful, educational and just fun for kids. Every day kids have circle times and learn math, letters, colors and I feel that my 5 years old son is ready for his Kindergarten this fall. We know all her helpers and they have good educational background, had previous experience working with kids and the owner is very particular about choosing her team. Every holiday including new fun games, decoration and every kid has a little role in her performance. She( the owner ) plays piano and children learn so much about music and like to sing songs. And you should see her video and photos that she prepares every times for parents after each event! And also they're making home meals , no burgers or other fast food that most of big daycare feeding their kids. It's healthy , nutritional and always fruits daily. This daycare has been the best place for our 14 month old son. We feel fortunate to have found Regina through a recommendation from a friend. She is the owner, and is a wonderful, kind, and compassionate person. She takes pride in running her daycare like a pre-school and is certified in teaching preschool and music. She is very involved with all of the day-to-day care and has two wonderful women, Olga and Ilona, who work with her to provide care for the kids. The kids have a variety of great art projects, music lessons, and movement (dancing, structured play-time, outdoor play). My son has learned so many things in this warm, structured environment and the other kids are really sweet to him. She provides nutritious breakfast, lunch and snacks for the kids after they are on solid food. Her hours are extremely accommodating, 7am - 6pm, she will take kids part-time and her rates are very reasonable. Our son is so happy some days that he doesn't want to leave. He is always giving them smiles and hugs. I would recommend this daycare to anyone who has to leave their child in someone else's hands. read more

We researched many different daycares until we found Regina. My son has been attending Reginas daycare since June 2015. As a parent i could not be happier with my sons learning progress. Regina provides a very loving, educational environment for my son. He learned a variety of different subjects such as numbers, letters, animals and more. He even potty trained there, something that was a very challenging process at home. She provides delicious homemade meals for the kids and finds it important to keep parents in the loop about whats going on at the daycare. I love the fact that she emails pictures and videos of my son drawing, painting and learning. I always know whats going on there and what project my son is working on. In addition, she sends my son home with his beautiful art work. I love to collect these items and practice his numbers and letters at home. He enjoys going to Reginas daycare so much that he doesn't want to leave in the evening. My son is half russian and sometimes i find it hard to speak or teach russian to my son. Since he has been attending this daycare, i noticed that he started speaking more russian. Regina provides a such a wonderful place for the kids and its truly a blessing to have her as my sons childcare provider. I highly recommend Regina's day!!! read more
