Don't use A spot for spot if you care about your dog. They completely disregard your pets safety,…read moreeven if they agree to special requirements. They let a large (German shepherd) rescue dog in with the small dogs and puppies - when they, and the dogs owner did not know the history of the dog at all, and they owner had only owned the dog for 1 week. This dog in turn attacked our small breed dog (12 pounds) by picking him up by his back hips and shaking him back and forth. The reason we know this is what happened, is because the worker who witnessed it phoned us right away and told us. But then later when we got a letter from the owner of "a spot for spot" explaining what happened, she made up a completely different story. To add insult to injury she claimed our dog was the one at fault for being attacked. This resulted in injury and pain to our dog. He needed attention from our vet at financial cost to us. This would be less disturbing if we had not had an agreement with the shop about our dog. He is an intact show dog. We knew this could put him at rick so we told them specifically to keep him separate from other dogs as much as possible, and if he was socialized to only have him around dogs his own size. This was ignored. Also the rescue dog was supposed to be kept away from other dogs as well, and as written by the Daycare owner this dog was let loose with the other dogs. After the incident they refused top put us in contact with the owner of the offending dog. They instead, gave our information to her and gave her the option to contact us if she wished to work out the situation. Fortunately she did (after several weeks of us following up with a spot for spot). We got the money back from the trip to the vet - but now our dog is very afraid of other dogs that approach him. He used to be the friendliest dog with no fear of other dogs at all but now unfortunately this is no longer the case. Key points to take away: disregard for instructions leading to dog injury crass handling of the situation after without compassion 2 different stories from the owner, and the worker who witnessed refusal to put customer in contact with the offending dogs owner no offer of any sort of compensation from the shop Make an informed decision before you decide where to leave your loved one.

When return I like watching the screens to see my pup playing around and having fun. Many people in Lower Lonsdale bring their dogs here to this safe, clean and well attended day care. Kelsey is particularly sweet with the dogs and always remembers Rio by name when we see her around the neighbourhood.

Treks 4 Pets goes above and beyond to give any pooch the best hike ever: Complimentary photos of their adventures A picture of the GPS map to show where they went Pick up and Drop off at your home - leaving super tired pups to rest At least an hour of 5km+ And on top of that only 3 dogs per group making it more time caring/playing with each dog and less time trying to count them all hahaha They even do house boarding/pet sitting while you're away. This means, they can stay in your home to help your pet feel more at ease in their environment or just drop them off at HQ for them to have a great time with a fellow friend. This service ALSO includes that amazing hike explained above. Can't get any better then that! So many benefits with this company. They have done wonders with my little ones and I would recommend them to any pup owner!

Treks for Pets is absolutely amazing!…read more Being from Halifax, I don't have many friends or family here to take care of my cat, Ollie, when my partner and I are away. I went online to find a cat-sitter and found Chantelle and Treks for Pets. I was apprehensive at first, having someone I didn't really know come into my house and trusting them with my cat, but after the first visit, I received photos of Ollie and a daily update on how he was doing and I immediately relaxed. Chantelle is personable, trustworthy and Ollie just loves her. Even after she's done her job, she follows up on how your trip went and seems to care about each of her clients. I would recommend Treks for Pets to anyone who is looking for someone to take care of their cat or dog. Megan

Wowie. Where to begin! We have been taking our dog here for years, and he loves the staff here just…read moreas much as day one. We have used both the daycare and boarding services with no issues at all, staff are very detail oriented, handle medication administration with such professionalism and our dog always comes back in great condition. Staff: The team here is responsive, responsible and always friendly. They have accommodated our many detailed requests in terms of medications, and feeding our dog. They are so patient as we are always experimenting with weird things like adding probiotics/different cooked food mixes, toppers etc. they label everything, and even return containers cleaned! Picture updates are provided (although I wish there were some videos because we are so curious what our doggo gets up to while we are away). Honestly we have never had a bad interaction with anyone on the team. Space: They do split dogs between larger sized breeds and smaller, and the space is absolutely gorgeous, clearly designed with dogs in mind. Take a tour and see for yourself! Dogs are not left alone overnight. There is staff at all times and this was a big draw for why we chose Rex for boarding. There is also outdoor space complete with water activities and things to play with- again another reason we chose Rex. it can be difficult to find a daycare that offers outdoor space in Vancouver! It is also worth mentioning my doggo has never been returned to us with any cleanliness issues. I will note if your dog doesnt like sleeping in an open group environment you might need to pay a bit more for a more private sleeping format. Pricing:Pricing has always been very transparent. You can look on the website and find it listed clearly. I think it's comparable to similar facilities. There are some surcharges for boarding at peak times (ie. $15/night for Christmas) but I think thats understandable. In addition there are fees for medication administration (5 bucks/day) and a deposit (that goes towards your booking) to reserve boarding over stat holidays, but these have always been clear upfront, and staff are responsive to emails/happy to provide quotes before booking so you know exactly what to expect. We don't find the pricing to be unreasonable or ever a surprise although we haven't jumped on the daycare club card discount they offer ($390 for 10 full days) just because it can be lot up of upfront cost for a total 10 dollar discount minimum. However, it's worth noting club cards have no expiry and are totally refundable and likely make sense for other people who maybe take their doggo more regularly than us. Honestly, we once bought a half day card and totally forgot we had it! We were reminded by diligent staff! Most importantly:When we bring our doggo he is always excited and just immediately runs to the staff who are there to greet him. We think he truly adores the staff and his furry friends at Rex. We honestly have no complaints! I'm sure each dog is different so we can only speak to our own experience, but Rex has been great for us so far. If you are considering this place I'd say you really have got nothing to lose checking them out!
