I looked up "florists" on google the day before Mother's Day, and the closest one for me was Lana's flowers. The proximity was appealing but the yelp stars at this point on May 9th, 2020 was a 1/5 and a 2/5. Both are for quite specific reasons, one person said that a delivery was made 20 minutes late to a funeral event, and the other one said that she was charged $38.50 instead of $35. Now, I find it necessary to say that I completely understand the frustration of these people, but these reasons do not justify the ratings that were given. I understand that this is my opinion! Alrighty, onto my actual review. So what truly swayed my decision was that while yes, I saw poor reviews, I didn't actually see a review on the product I needed (a procrastinated order of flowers for Mother's Day!) but rather I saw extremely picky and circumstantial scenarios that most likely do not represent Lana's flowers.. I decided to give Lana a try. I called the number on google and quicky, Lana answered. I said "I knows it's late and all, but I'm looking for flowers for Mother's Day!" She let me know that she can whip something up really quick. I gave her my budget and she told me she would take care of me, but she is busy so to give her about 4 hours. After about 3 hours I gave her a call to confirm my order and she confirmed that all was still according to plan. When I arrived, I'll be honest, I was nervous because of the reviews.. and up until the moment I walked up to the door I had my doubts. But when I walked into her place, there was a reassuring vibe to it. You can tell that the owner runs her place because she loves what she does and not because she is there to make an extra buck on effort or time. (Go there and you'll have an Aha! moment) In any case, my experience with Lana warrants a 5/5 on yelp. From the initial interaction, to the promptness and of course, the most important aspect, the flowers... they were GORGEOUS. My mom cried when I brought them into her house. The relief when Lana brought them out from the back of her stowas immense, and I literally walked out of the store with a smile and could not wait to bring them to my mom. Thank you, Lana! The flowers were nice quality, but the arrangement was very, very small (10 inches long by 5 inches high) and compact, especially for this price and for a table centerpiece. Given that this was a gift for the host, I was very embarrassed. There were 13 flowers (5 roses, 3 kale, 3 anemometers, 2 protea) plus some pedestrian eucalyptus filler. I called to ask if the wrong arrangement had possibly been delivered, and was told that this was a high quality arrangement. Quality was fine, value for the $$ was very poor.
