I am so grateful to have come in contact with Miss Alyssa. My son has made extensive progress with his speech and Miss Alyssa has such a great connection with children to keep them engaged, focused and excited about the lesson. She constantly brings new ideas, new games, etc so my son is never bored and the focus of speech is always the center of the activities. His Pediatrician has noticed the improvement in his speech as well. I highly recommend Leap Speech & Language Therapy. Our entire family couldn't be happier with her services.

She brought a bag of books and toys which she would switch out to keep our daughter interested. Even when my toddler was being difficult, she did her best to find an activity that she enjoyed while working on her speech. She openly addressed my concerns and gave me tools to help my daughter work on her speech outside of therapy. Our daughter went from sounding out one syllable words to speaking full sentences. At the end of our sessions, she was evaluated by the SLP for her school district and they determined she was meeting the age appropriate milestones and did not need further speech therapy. I highly recommend Alyssa if you are looking for an SLP!

He genuinely looks forward to every class, and seeing his excitement and joy walking in says more than words ever could. The impact on his development has been incredible. Every session is thoughtfully guided with patience, care, and a true understanding of who he is as an individual. We appreciate her more than we can fully express. Anyone who brings this much happiness, comfort, and progress into our child's life will always have a place in our hearts. What really sets Gina apart is her patient-led approach. She meets my son where he is and adjusts each session based on his needs in the moment. Gina is incredibly compassionate, sweet, and attentive to cues. When my son becomes overwhelmed and needs space--sometimes even needing to step into a quiet corner--Gina recognizes this right away and adapts without pressure. That flexibility and understanding helped her build real trust with him. Because Gina listens, observes, and adjusts so thoughtfully, our son feels safe and respected during sessions, and that has made a huge difference in his progress. My kiddo started autism-related therapies (behavioral, speech, and occupational) whenhe was 2, so prior to Cortica we had a couple of years experience with other providers. From our experience, one of the biggest strengths of Cortica is that it offers a comprehensive set of services under one house - prior to Cortica, we had different providers providing different services, so there was an obvious communication gap across teams. Additionally, there were several services that we weren't doing prior to becoming clients. To expand, we currently use Cortica for the following: Family Counseling (for parents), Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Group (for kiddo), ABA Therapy, and Music Therapy. In the recent past, we were doing Neurofeedback Therapy - it did not seem to have any notable impact, so consulting with the staff, we decided to stop. We also had a meeting with Dr. Shapiro regarding TVNS and under his consult, we decided it probably wasn't necessary. We had a couple of bio-medical consults, but we haven't been successful in being consistent with supplements (this is really our fault here). In the near future, we are planning to attend the once-a-month Parent's Group at Cortica. In respect to quality of care provided, from our experience, it's been very good all around. Cortica's ABA is different from what we were used to - it's not reward based, rather it's based in the methods described in Spectacular Bond book (sorry, it's a bit hard for me to succinctly describe). In respect to speech and fine & gross motor skills, we have seen our kiddo progress at a good and steady rate - he's still got a long ways to go, but we're seeing him grow. Also, our family counselor has been great and an integral component in everything. She not only listens to personal issues, but also helps us plan and process anything related to our kiddo's development. To re-iterate, she's been integral for us. We've met with Dr. Goh a handful of times and we've always found Dr. Goh to be personable and approachable. We haven't had a need to meet with her often, since the personnel that we've worked with has been solid and helpful. We haven't really experienced a turnover staff problem like we had in the past with previous providers. For instance, we've had a couple of the same ABA therapist for our entire duration with Cortica. I would say scheduling and re-scheduling (e.g., school year, summer) is more an issue. This probably has to do with a supply and demand with resources, I would guess. Last note, I really get a good "team" sense from Cortica, that encompasses my family and Cortica. And I think that's partly due to my wife and I's level of engagement and also Cortica's philosophy on how things should run, which of course is displayed in the staff we work with.

My 4-yo son needs speech therapy. Cortica is in network. Scheduled the first evaluation meeting…read morewhich was a video visit. They asked if he has trouble concentrating - I said yes. They then recommended a neuro evaluation, which I agreed to, even though it's not really a concern of ours. They said they would write up a care plan and schedule a neuro evaluation as well as a speech evaluation (also video visits). These were scheduled two months out - and the confirmation emails didn't mention speech anywhere - just neuro evals. Since we only need speech therapy, I wanted to get clarification that at least one of these next two evals was for speech. I reached out via phone (twice) and message to verify, and they never responded. I got the first bill of $390 for the initial video consult. I'm sure the next two would have been another $390 each, and who knows when the actual, in-person speech therapy would have even started? I cancelled both and reached out to a free provider in San Diego recommended by our school. He is now scheduled for an in-person therapy session less than a month out. In my opinion, it seems like Cortica is more focused on generating revenue from parents via multiple (pointless) video visits rather than getting kids the help they need. The reviews make sense now!

This is a review of Dr Koretoff and the physical therapy practice…read more I visited Koretoff mid 2024 for ongoing shoulder pain. He spent the entire appointment acting like he was late for other things and had too much going on, really didn't seem interested in hearing what I had to say and was so scattered I thought wow maybe he is just having a bad day and is distracted by something. When I went back for a second follow up visit he was even more distracted and uninterested in talking to me. He repeated the same things over and over as though he forgot he had already told me certain things that same day, kept saying he was really busy and made me feel like I was an inconvenience. Based on the first appointment he had referred me to their physical therapy program. This is the key for the practice. It wouldn't exist but for the overpriced PT that is the magic answer for all their patients. Now for the billing. Each THIRTY MINUTE physical therapy appointment is billed at $550 to your insurance. They charge $220 for 15 minutes with a STUDENT physical therapist. $230 for 15 with a licensed PT. I do have a high deductible insurance plan which I am well aware of. This means I owe a larger percentage of whatever the cost is up to my deductible. I have seen other offices and been to PT many times throughout my life and generally expect the total for a PT session to be anywhere from $120-$250 and my portion of the co-insurance to be calculated based on this. In the case of this office, they waited FOUR months until I had completed the recommended course of PT to send me any kind of bill. Strategic, so that I would not know the amount until I had completed my therapy. They have obviously implemented this strategy for a reason. Yes it is my fault for not asking for a bill upfront but never in my life have I seen a supposedly reputable PT practice charge these prices. They received from my insurance over $350 for each one of these $550 thirty minute sessions and STILL want to charge me personally $80 per session. Talk about a RACKET. Wow. When I first received the bill I called immediately with my concerns and very calmly explained the situation and rationale. I was told the office was going to discuss the matter and see what they could do for me. Over the course of the next two months I was not contacted again by SDSM and instead had to reach out to them two MORE times. Each time I was told a different story. At one point the billing office agreed the amount was very high and I was told the actual therapist could agree to a discount and that they were going to discuss this. Again, no follow up just repeated bills in the mail. When I called again to ask the outcome I was told that they can't offer any kind of discount if any portion has been paid by insurance. WTF. I again explained my outrage at the pricing and that I never would have continued and certainly never will go back had I known what they intended to charge. Again, "we will call you back". Each time I made it perfectly clear they were NOT to send this to collections which they agreed. Months went by and I received a bill now almost a year later saying that my account is delinquent and to avoid collections to contact them which I did immediately. After putting me on hold for ten minutes to read the copious notes they have in my file I was told there is nothing they can do except offer a payment plan. Upon supposedly transferring me to the payment plan office she promptly disconnected the line without actually transferring me. I had to call back AGAIN and leave a message. Everyone should be aware that this is their practice. If you are okay with insanely high bills and a practice that takes advantage of insurance (which is why we ALL pay insane premiums) then go ahead and support their business. $550 for a 30 minute PT session. No thanks. And their doctors aren't even good. Needless to say, my shoulder still hurts and now I have a headache and hours of my life lost talking to them about a ridiculous bill. Really wish people wouldn't support a business that takes advantage of insurance and over bills.
