MILITARY FRIENDLY!!! I was able to come here on my trip home…read moreand get a good workout in. I was only in NC for about 2 weeks so I didn't get a membership but I was able to pay $15 for a day pass. Only downside was it's a pretty small gym so peak hours get packed quickly!

This was a shorter drive than I expected from Huntersville. What I found at this Anytime Fitness…read morewas another pleasant surprise, at least for the most part. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the manager with a "Hi" and a smile. I quickly noticed she wasn't in the only one in a good mood. There were two other employees there--a male and a female--and they were both genuinely happy to be there. This really set a positive tone for the group class they were teaching on the large area in the middle of the room. The people being trained were having a good time. Therefore, if you're looking for classes where you can get fit and everyone will fit in, then this might be your place. The only negative is the dumbbell section. Since so much room is given to the open area in the middle, there isn't much room leftover for free weights. When I was there, there was only one other guy using the dumbbells and I barely had any room. If you're looking for group classes, machines, or cardio, this is probably the ideal location for you. If you're looking for free weights, maybe not ideal. Btw, this place is spotless.

So I think this YMCA is really good in some ways, but less good in others. The front desk is really friendly and the cardio has Netflix, and had my sign in details, so that was good. On the other hand, they have big Jesus posters on the wall, and putting a banner in the cardio is lame. And there are a few issues such as are the kids coming around and cleaning the machines in the middle of the workout, and they were spraying their bottles and sweeping up dust and literally I could smell dust, made me sneeze, almost cough, during cardio, and literally I got sprayed (ew) with a little bit of spray (ew) but that's not the kids fault because they are being instructed to do so by the boss here, who was following them around, ordering them to clean more. They should be doing that when no one is working out because that's why we pay more than enough. And that stuff is toxic AF and it shouldn't be sprayed near me... let alone making me wet from spray... during my cardio. On the good side: The shower pressure is a huge thing and I appreciate that, even though a lot of the lockers are disappointingly reserved for members. It could easily have received a 3 star for the religion in my face and spray on my body and dust up my nose, but I'll generously give 4 because it was an otherwise good facility. I hope this review wasn't to em-ca-barrusing for them.

After training with Owner, Rick Anderson, for about 7 months now, I am the strongest, most toned, and overall healthiest I've ever been in my adult life. Rick is so knowledgeable, professional, and serious about helping his clients achieve their goals. I have learned, through his commitment and dedication to helping me, what it means to push and improve myself through his unique and varied 45 minute workouts (including Tabata, HIIT, and the most fun...some serious BOXING!) and changing my eating habits. Only if you are determined and committed to working hard, would I recommend Burn, as this is what it takes to see results! Rick's clients are a dedicated bunch and the ones that aren't don't stick around. Through one on one and small group sessions, Rick gives each client individual attention and knows exactly what you are capable of and how much to push you. I truly look forward to each appointment and know I will leave feeling stronger and more confident! The big crowded gyms, inconsistent trainers, and contract gimmicks are not for me. I love that a friend referred me to Burn and I will never go back to my old habits. Thanks, Rick, for getting me fit at 49!

The staff is always friendly and the gym is pretty clean. They never run out of wipes, which is appreciated in our current environment, and have them spread all around the gym. There's a huge exercise room for classes, although I have yet to take a class here, and also a nice size training room. The gym isn't that big, so it was surprising when I saw how much they packed inside. I think you get your moneys worth with a membership here. Depending on the time of day, parking can get a little crowded, but even if you can't park directly in front of the building, there's plenty of parking nearby. The location is great too, just off Gilead Rd, near Starbucks, Walgreens, etc. I've been very happy here. There are just a few machines that aren't available that I wish they had. But like I said, they are regularly updating and swapping out equipment, so maybe I just need to inquire about what I'm interested in.

It's not a super large gym, perhaps like some others in the area. However, it is a really good size and you never really have to wait for machines or equipment. It seems that they try to keep the equipment up-to-date and every now and then you will see some new/updated equipment on the floor for use. It's also not crowded (usually the regular 1-3 people are there), at least during the super early morning time, when I go. If you go later in the morning, there are a lot more people there and it can become a little crowded. Either way, it's always your average, typical gym folks there that are considerate of others, never any grunters or ones that make you feel out of place when working out. This Anytime Fitness is located in a shopping center with a variety of establishments such as Walgreens, Starbucks, FedEx, and many other eateries and stores. So it is a great location with plenty of parking and things around which may be needed before or after a workout. The owner, manager and trainers are very nice and helpful when needed. If you live in the area, definitely try out this Anytime Fitness for your workouts.

As a resident of the Moss Creek development, I recently signed up for access to the fitness center…read more I've been in the neighborhood for over 7 years and I've frequented the pool and clubhouse on numerous occasions. The pool is well above average when compared to other housing developments. Sometimes it's overcrowded, sometimes you're all alone. Get there early during peak season if you really want a good seat or an umbrella accompanied table. Slide, kid's pool with fountain, Olympic size lap pool....all good in my book. The clubhouse is just what you'd expect. Reserve it for a party or what have you. It's not much unlike any other community clubhouse. The fitness center was just introduced this year and residents must agree to a $100/year increase in their homeowners association dues in order to use the facility. Worth it if you will actually make use of it. It's convenient but there are limited hours of operation. They do not allow anyone under the age of 18 to use the facility and they threaten your membership if you allow any nonresidents or minors to accompany you in. Your resident card, via a magnetic chip, grants you access during their hours of operation. The facility is better that I had expected of a community fitness center. A little larger that expected with a few more machines and such. Four treadmills each with TV viewing capabilities. You can also hook your iPod into them. Several basic settings on the machines make them user friendly for newbies. The space is also equipped with weights, multifunctional weight bench, ellipticals, bicycles, etc. with a view of the large pool as you grunt through your workout. The facility also comes with access to the shared pool house restrooms. There is one shower available in the men's room if you choose to make use of it after your workout or swim. I can't speak for the ladies room. Most of the time I find myself working out alone or with just one or two others. Of course January sparks the season of resolutions and it's been a bit more crowded lately. All good and I wish everyone well in their new personal endeavors but I fully expect it to die down again soon. One thing that I think would improve the experience and perhaps encourage others to make more use of the space would be if residents were allowed to bring a guest. My sister often visits me from out of state for a week at a time and I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be able to let her join me for a gym-like workout when she's in town. Neighborhood folks may also be more inclined to workout and/or stick to their goals if they had a workout partner. What's wrong with Susie bringing her buddy from work for a little extra motivation? What if Johnny wants to bring his personal trainer to see what equipment he has to work with and to get a little advice? A limit of one guest per resident isn't unreasonable. Especially given the empty air outside of January, but that's just my opinion. We are granted guests when visiting the pool. How is the fitness center any different? Anyhow, if you live in the Moss Creek neighborhood, get off of your lazy bum and go get your workout on! You'll feel better about yourself, I promise!
