I thought this store was very organized and clean! This location has all of the typical items that "Home goods" would have- individual departments being "Rugs", "Children's department", "Lighting", "Kitchen", etc. Upon walking in, you were easily bombarded with many "Easter Ideas" for the house. The thing I liked about this store is that you could see the clear distinction between "Marshalls & Home goods"- the items didn't cross connect and the store wasn't messy. Additionally, the store was organized- it was many items that jumped out at me that I would've loved to purchase. There was plenty of staff walking around (that I could see) that you could've easily asked for assistance. I particularly liked the "pet" section and the "Home Office" section. As far as parking, there is plenty of parking outside so even on a busy day, you have somewhere to park. The only reason I did not give this store 5 stars is because although it is a great idea to combine the 2 stores, I really like Home Goods as an individual entity so that the layout of the store is more spaced out. I literally went next door to the hardware store, picked up what I needed for under $5, went home and did it myself. All it took was a razor blade, some super glue, an ice-cold beer and I was done! While there, I noticed some really cool hoodies, surf boards galore (even some nicely priced used ones in the back), and a ton of dope skateboard kicks. I haven't said the words "dope" or "kicks" in quite a long time (especially in the same sentence) but having stepped foot in this pretty hip skate/surf shop definitely brings it out of you. Hang tight! Or is it hang-loose? Either way, this is definitely a rad shop right by the beach!

We got in and they told us they didn't do any wetsuit rentals and did not have ANY women's wetsuits available to sell. So I was ready to be disappointed when I walked into the retail store that took its place. But, that store is called Moxie, it kicks ass, and the people who own it and work there are wonderful. They have tons of great housewares. I walked in with a designer friend and she was impressed. Cool plates, tea kettles, cookware - all sorts of stuff. And then I went back before this last Christmas... I found all sorts of gifts for the modern baby. Great clothes from Wry Baby, like t-shirt that had sayings like "I Eat Dirt" and "Not a Girl". And the best sellers in Asbury Park, "I Love My Moms" and "I Love My Dads". (That's right, San Francisco, you don't have a monopoly on progressiveness - in fact you could learn a thing or two from Asbury Park). And there are great toys from Zolo, like the Kooshies Stacrobats. And the Huggy Buggy line of soft toys. Parents of the recipients of these toys are likely to thank you for getting toys that are cool and attractive to children without making obnoxious noises or flashing lights. This place is a great addition to the fantastic shopping on Cookman Ave. And they have an online store so you can order from anywhere. Support your local merchants - especially when they're as cool as these people.

She mentioned that it was her favorite store and an absolute "must visit" whenever she was in the area. Well, after stepping foot inside, I immediately understood why she felt that way. The shop was so meticulously curated with all kinds of unique gifts that you would not find anywhere else. These were not cheesy Asbury souvenirs, but expertly crafted pieces to display in your home, to wear as accessories, to give to your pet, and so much more. We both purchased several items that caught our eyes and made sure to praise the selection when talking to the cashier. I will definitely be adding this to my own "must visit" list going forward.
