My room is filled with color from this stained-glass rose garden window, thanks to Michael of Funk and Swagger!

We all have our vices, and mine is antique stores. To me they are like museums where you can touch things, learn about them from the wonderful people working there and, if you're lucky, bring a little piece of history home. My own home is filled with objects that tell a story ... such a wonderful contrast to the mass-produced, designed-for-the masses furnishings being forced upon us. With antiques my drink of choice, Funk and Swagger is my Cheers: it's where I go to feel at home, where everyone knows my name, and where I will always find more objects of my desire than I have room for at home. Just as in a museum, you are welcomed to browse, with no pressure whatsoever to buy something. While my daughter teases me that it seems I can't leave without making a purchase, that's just me --nobody in the shop will make you feel that it's necessary to do so. Michael and his whole team of dealers, helpers, and restorers are just wonderful. Their offerings are consistently interesting and desirable -- none of the tag-sale dreck that clutters up so many shops -- and everyone is knowledgeable about the provenance of their wares. And just when you settle into the breadth of vintage offerings, you discover something different and wonderful: original artworks, many of which are crafted from vintage elements. Brilliant!! If you love warmth and history, in both objects and the people selling them, you must visit Funk and and Swagger!

A real antique shop! Beautiful furniture as well as some amazing finds for every room. A very special space that's a must visit, worth a trip if you're not near!

This one has a working switch made from old handle! So many more at the store!!

I walked in and the aroma was breathtaking! I asked what the scent was and it was "Winter Forest" by Cow Harbor Candle Co. I bought one little candle to take home to NV. Burning the candle at home, I just couldn't get enough. They were out of Winter Forest, so I ordered an assortment of different scents from the same maker. Unfortunately, when they arrived a few were broken. I spoke to the owner, Jacquelyn, and she immediately replaced the broken candles at no charge, no questions whatsoever. They texted me when more Winter Forest was available. I order more of those too. I think I've gotten about 8 candles and I have to say that these are the BEST SCENTED CANDLES I've EVER had the pleasure to enjoy! Highly recommend this shop, the customer service is fantastic, and I hope to visit Huntington and Wit & Whim again next year. Also, wow has Huntington grown (well of course, in 50 years!) Gorgeous area. And, yes, I found my grandparents home. It's not the same, but I found it!! Ahhh, the childhood memories!!!

Filled with tchotchkes, vintage ideas, local artisan crafts, and so much more, it really lives up to its name of wit and whim. The two people working at the store were incredibly friendly and did such a wonderful job gift-wrapping the gifts I purchased and I picked up a bunch of business cards from local creators that I wanted to follow and see what else they have in store. A lot of the items don't have prices listed, so you do have to ask which was my only minor grievance. I will definitely make a few more trips here, especially for gifts, when the need arises.

The mad Russian and I had been home yesterday all day and decided to go out and get a bite in town…read more After dinner we were itching for an ice cream, and that's when this newcomer to the neighborhood popped right in front of our eyes. One look into the store window and we knew we had to go in. Since we had just gotten our ice cream, we asked if it was ok to come inside and take a gander. Imagine a place where all the furniture is reclaimed and rustic, the leather furniture distressed and so comfortable looking that you might just for a moment think you see a sleeping child on the couch. This place is so awesome inside, we just had to have a look and kept going on for quite a distance. That's where we saw them- the matching end tables that have been missing from what we wanted our bedroom to look like and the bench at the foot of our bed. Enter Nadia and Frank, two of the nicest people you're likely to ever meet and moments later we were chatting it up and getting their story on how the came to be in our fair city. I'll let them have that conversation with you if you go yourself in person, but rest assured, it's a story we loved to hear and we were so happy that hard work can pay off and a dream can be realized. A few more minutes went by and Frank and I had conducted our business and I arranged for the furniture to be delivered to our home. We laughed because it was possibly the most expensive ice cream trip I have ever taken. But having said that, we were so pleased at our new purchase and the thought that everything was so reasonably priced. We already have spoken about a few other items that would look great in our home. I wasn't part of this conversation so much, but MR ( mad Russian ) was talking with Nadia and it seems Frank does all sorts of custom work as well. Come and see them and welcome them to the neighborhood. Best of luck to them both!

They had an awesome one at the store and we spoke to the owner Frank and he's actually working on making us a larger one. And then we saw these really cool chandeliers to go above it. They really have the most amazing stuff! And the owner was incredibly nice and helpful. This is a place worth taking a trip to see!

Most guys would wave it off saying to their significant other, "whatever" you choose is good. Not me. I have a vision in my head what my dining room set should look like, how I spend the next 30 years at this dining room table and chairs is something I take seriously. Enter Classic Galleries in Huntington Village. This place actually taught me how to buy cars as well a detailed negotiations after being burned here. The late 90s, my wife were driving all over Rt110 and looking for a classic dining room set. I don't want a "square" table. I'm looking for something French Country, woods that are dark but not too dark. Are you feeling me Yelper? We go to lunch in Huntington Village. I had plans to stop in Classic Galleries after shopping all of the other traditional stores. Sure enough, we find the exact table I had in my mind. Two young parents who are decorating their house and are buying a pretty expensive piece of furniture. All the tables we looked at had 6 chairs. I ask the floor person, "Does this table come with 6 chairs"? Oh yes we're told. We give our deposit and place the order. We go to our parents and tell them about the new table, we're so excited. Yippie! The furniture takes about 2-3 months to ship to the USA. I noticed on the invoice there are no chair quantities. I call up and ask how the shipping is coming along and more importantly, there are no chair quantities on the invoice. Oh, there are 4 chairs shipping along with your table. WHAT! Yes, your order was place with the standard 4 chairs. If you'd like 2 more chairs you'll need to spend "x" amount and with the shipping it will cost "y". (Y=very expensive and raised the price point to where I did not what to be) And that folks is some sneaky BS to get a sale. I ask to cancel the order immediately. Oh and we're keeping $500 of my deposit. Have a nice day. Have a nice day?? Our little hearts were crushed. A $500 dollar loss was a hard lesson to learn. If I was shopping today, I wouldn't consider this place. Who the heck wants to spend an exorbitant amount of money on furniture at a gallery where today you can by direct from a southern furniture manufacture? Where there is no 3 month wait period? I've lived, I learned and more importantly, I've been burned. If your a sales person at Classic Galleries and did this shady deal to two young kids? Shame on you
