We purchased an expensive sofa from Classic Galleries. The fabric on the pillows was flawed. The fabric was an uncharge. They reimbursed me for the extra yard of fabric I purchased to cover a chair, but they did not reimburse me for the uncharge on the pillows. I spoke to the manager in person twice, and both times he said he would call me that day. Two times now I have not received a call nor the reimbursement for the fabric uncharge. Therefore, the rating goes from a 5 to a 2. Service after the sale didn't happen. read more

I won't even give these animals the satisfaction of showing my check in. Looking for furniture for your house to me is fun. Most guys would wave it off saying to their significant other, "whatever" you choose is good. Not me. I have a vision in my head what my dining room set should look like, how I spend the next 30 years at this dining room table and chairs is something I take seriously. Enter Classic Galleries in Huntington Village. This place actually taught me how to buy cars as well a detailed negotiations after being burned here. The late 90s, my wife were driving all over Rt110 and looking for a classic dining room set. I don't want a "square" table. I'm looking for something French Country, woods that are dark but not too dark. Are you feeling me Yelper? We go to lunch in Huntington Village. I had plans to stop in Classic Galleries after shopping all of the other traditional stores. Sure enough, we find the exact table I had in my mind. Two young parents who are decorating their house and are buying a pretty expensive piece of furniture. All the tables we looked at had 6 chairs. I ask the floor person, "Does this table come with 6 chairs"? Oh yes we're told. We give our deposit and place the order. We go to our parents and tell them about the new table, we're so excited. Yippie! The furniture takes about 2-3 months to ship to the USA. I noticed on the invoice there are no chair quantities. I call up and ask how the shipping is coming along and more importantly, there are no chair quantities on the invoice. Oh, there are 4 chairs shipping along with your table. WHAT! Yes, your order was place with the standard 4 chairs. If you'd like 2 more chairs you'll need to spend "x" amount and with the shipping it will cost "y". (Y=very expensive and raised the price point to where I did not what to be) And that folks is some sneaky BS to get a sale. I ask to cancel the order immediately. Oh and we're keeping $500 of my deposit. Have a nice day. Have a nice day?? Our little hearts were crushed. A $500 dollar loss was a hard lesson to learn. If I was shopping today, I wouldn't consider this place. Who the heck wants to spend an exorbitant amount of money on furniture at a gallery where today you can by direct from a southern furniture manufacture? Where there is no 3 month wait period? I've lived, I learned and more importantly, I've been burned. If your a sales person at Classic Galleries and did this shady deal to two young kids? Shame on you read more

Classic Galleries was the best furniture shopping experience. Jannet made us feel very comfortable while we were looking at bedroom sets. Everything in the store is at so beautiful and they work with you to make sure you are happy. Ended up buying 6 pieces of bedroom furniture. They all look amazing and it is real quality wood. The set up was done in less then an hour and delivery of our furniture took 2 weeks. I would recommend going here if you need high quality furniture for your house! read more

I'm very disappointed in this store Prices are inflated so they can put sale on everything for above normal price anyway I Brought $8,000 sofa and two end tables for $1400 in October 2016since and one end table and sofa was in showroom floor they delivered it in two days . I worked with Susanne and was told Other side table in stack and will be here in a week or two .. now I yesterday 3/25/2017 I called them inquiring about the table . Suzanne told me Table is in transit I asked why it's taking 5 months to get here if I would known I never Would of ordered it and her answer was "it's not like it's coming from Vietnam it's coming from North Carolina .I'll call you in a week or two I didn't know it will take that long". I bought furniture on display paid with credit card. Had furniture delivered everything was fine. 6 weeks later the store calls and said i owed $1000. More I said I have a paid receipt It said all sales final. The store said if I don't pay the money they will sue me,ruin my credit and make me pay legal fees. I said fine take furniture back. So they did and gave me my money back. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE PEOPLE EVER!!!! read more

Nasty, horrendous experience. Went there fresh from an inheritance, knew little about furniture except my parents had antiques, so I asked the sales woman something, told her I now owned a Firehouse Chair, appraised at $1K, to give her an idea of what period or style the furniture was. She had never heard of it, made no effort to look it up, find out what it might be, did everything to make me squirm, feel uncomfortable and intimidated. Reality? Once you leave the showroom with their stuff, it doesn't go up in value like real antiques do. Go ahead, look up Firehouse Chair on eBay, it's all over the place. I'm not beneath any clerk in a showroom. But I'm sure part of $780,000 might've bought some nice things from these clowns. I have recently purchased a library wall. The advisor went out of her way to find me items that were within my budget and as beautiful upon receipt as advertised. What is more, where there was a small gap between units, one was replaced without question. About 25 years ago, Classic Galleries almost totally redid my then apartment. Classic Galleries is the BEST in my book. Last year I bought bedroom furniture at a satellite store of Classic Galleries. I called shortly after my purchase to ask them to repair the finish on the dresser. They took car of the problem quickly and expertly. You could not find where the repair was made. They were also very polite and accommodating. More recently, I called with another problem: a broken knob and drawers that would not stay closed. I anticipated some resistance since it has been more than a year since my purchase. However, Allen was very accommodating and asked me to send pictures of my problems. I am delighted with the furniture I bought and very happy to know Classic Galleries stands by their product providing resolutions without resistance. I'll be back when I need more furniture. read more

Sorry to see that there are some significant negative reviews. Purchased from Classic a number of times and have never experience one iota of a problem. There had been a problem with a cocktail table that had been delivered. Classic was called and they resolved and reshipped a new one without any hesitation. As with everything, when you're shopping for small or big ticket items it's important to educate yourself and ask questions. read more

Bought my gorgeous bedroom furniture here and most recently for my living room as well. Dealt with Danielle who has great ideas and spent lots of time with us planning the layout and fabrics. We were thrilled with all our choices. One of the few stores which has so much variety displayed on the floor so you don't have to pick blindly from a catalog. The one reason I did not give Classic 5 stars has nothing to do with Danielle or the store. Every time we go there (which has been 3x in January) the store is freezing cold once you get to the back rooms behind the fabrics. You need to keep your down coat on while shopping which I really don't appreciate. read more

We recently purchased a new house and we walked in to classic galleries to pre-shop since we are not closing for another month. We made several choices and put deposits on them, they are holding them until we close, since we chose floor samples that could be taken immediately. We have changed our minds back and forth and would have made other stores a little crazy, but they were accommodating to us and never once made us feel like we were being bothersome. As far as the other reviews saying prices were inflated, that is not true. Their prices are list prices, when they discount, they are discounting off of list prices. They allowed us to look around for over an hour without following us and trying to sell us anything, which to me is the best part of the experience. I like to look around before I make a choice and like when I am not feeling pressured. I love this store, they not only have the most beautiful selection on Long Island, the owners and the sales people are extremely nice and helpful. I would highly recommend them, it has been a pleasure dealing with them from day one! read more

The selection is incredible, second to none, and if what you are looking for is not in the showroom, they will order anything you select from one of their catalogs, which Joffre countless choices. There is a design center available, and their professional staff work with you to accommodate all of your individual needs. Their delivery staff is reliable and courteous. This place is a disgrace. We purchased high-end draperies and carpeting four months ago that has yet to be fully installed, and what was installed was done so improperly (the carpeting has tears in it!). Speaking with the owner and "design professional" (charge:$500) gets you nowhere; they are expert at feigning ignorance. Their incompetence in planning and execution is mind-boggling. These people charge full price for everything, and deliver (if they deliver!) services worthy of an itinerant street huckster (with apologies to itinerant street hucksters!) . I've been coming here for years and I know this place well. Many of the oil paintings are really beautiful but they are also very overpriced. When the furniture is marked down you can get a good deal here but it's a hit or miss. I usually always find something good here but if you're coming for something specific you may not get what you want but if you're just coming for something that's a good deal in any category you probably can find something. They have a decent selection of Theodore Alexander at times which is my favorite brand unfortunately the quality is changed over the years to produce to the masses but still overall great furniture. Overall this is a fine place to shop for quality furniture. read more
