Wow, how awesome is this? In the worlds most expensive city, there's actually a bike rental that's…read moretotally free. I love it! In summer, there's multiple locations around town where you can pick up and drop off a citybike at no cost. Just bring an ID and CHF 20 as deposit and start discovering our lovely city on two wheels. Totally eco-friendly on top of that! Overnight rentals cost CHF 10. There's even two locations that are open all year long, so even in winter there's no excuse not to take a bike to cross the city and do something good for your health. Even though I love our trams and public transport, I just love the freedom of biking. And if my own bike isn't near me, well then I go an grab a bike from Züri Rollt, which, by the way literally means "Zurich's rolling". I totally recommend this to all tourists visiting Zurich. Want a mock route? Here you go: grab a bike at Hauptbahnhof (at the Landesmuseum), bike down the Limmat river and ride along the peaceful lakeside. Then bike to Kreis 4 where the famous Langstrasse is located and head over to Kreis 5 to check out the only skyscraper in Zurich - the Prime Tower (where there's a bar on the top). Then bike along the Viadukt and go back to Hauptbahnhof via Limmatplatz. Sounds pretty amazing, huh? You're damn right! And there's even a frosting on the cake: it's run by an integration programme that helps migrants to settle and gives them a job.

There is an App for all the rental stations and how many bikes are free:…read morehttp://engineerit.ch/apps/veloverleih

The staff are defensive (actually, make that aggressive) and unhelpful. Too busy to change a tyre,…read morebut plenty of time to take money and verbally abuse people. I had an old bicycle with a flat tyre, and was also told to wait two days for a tyre change. When I came back, I was presented with a bill for over 100 Swiss Francs. That's a *hell* of a lot of money for a flat tyre. The new tyre was around 60 Francs, but I was charged nearly 50 Francs just for the tyre change. I later went to Happy Bike on Europa Allee with exactly the same problem (different bike). Total fee: 30 Francs. 25 for a tyre, FIVE FRANCS to change it. Now Happy Bike is unusually cheap (and unusually helpful), and they are probably just trying to build up their business (and might be no good in 6 months), BUT when I took the receipt back to Velofix and questioned the outrageous bill I got a wave of bullsh*t. The head mechanic got quite aggressive, and told me that the bill was reasonable because 1) they had to pay a lot of rent and have a lot of staff 2) the global financial crises of 2008 and had really affected the sports business It was quite a barrage, and by the end of it I was a little confused 1) I have to pay a lot of rent in my apartment as well, can I please have a 50% discount? 2) What the f*ck has the global financial crises got to do with overcharging people in a bike shop? To my shame, I paid the robbers, but I'll never go back there. Stay away from Velofix.

Visited mid April…read more Five to seven minutes walk from Interlaken Ost you will reach Interlaken Harderbahn, funicular that will take you atop in 10 minutes. Paid two tickets for $32.84 with our hotel discount. Views are stunning! You can enjoy the beauty of Interlaken, Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, and the famous Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau peaks in one spot. There's the overhanging viewing platform with glass floor to bring the viewing experience to the next level. Restaurant and hiking trails are available. Highly recommended while in Interlaken!

Yelp Review 2026 #125:…read more Harder Kulm was only a 5-minute walk from our hotel. The front desk told us it's a nice place to visit and gave us a discount coupon for 15% off tickets. We got a 50% discount for tickets because of the Swiss Travel Pass so we used that instead. Be sure to get roundtrip tickets so you don't have to stand in line again to buy a ticket to go back down. It had been raining on and off the days we were in Interlaken. There's thick fog the afternoon we went. Normally, it's foggy in the morning and clears up in the afternoon. We went to the station to take the funicular to the top of the hill. It was a short 10-minute ride. It was raining and foggy but we stayed until it cleared up a bit. There's a restaurant, a viewing deck, a little park, some wooden sculptures. You can see both Thunersee and Brienzersee. I had already been to both in the morning so, I wasn't pressed about not having a clear view of the two lakes when I went to Harder Kulm.
