I had a skunk infestation in the crawlspace of our addition in February 2025. After trapping and removing the skunks, they recommended I get the wire mesh around the crawlspace to prevent reentry. Well, the mesh wasn't put on correctly, It ran short of the full perimeter of the addition, and it wasn't properly secured at the top, under the vinyl siding in several places. I notified Fur and Feathers on multiple occasions. Initially, I was told they'd be out to fix it last June. They never showed up. I contacted them twice more last July (2025) as an animal (or animals) had broken a seam in the mesh and pulled it open. Again, no response. In February this year, I emailed them again, letting them know that the work wasn't done correctly and animals were pulling it apart where the it wasn't secured under the siding. Again, my emails were ignored. This morning I went out and there's a hole punched through in the foundation of my house at the very point about which I'd been telling them for 11 months. Now, not only does the mesh need to be repaired, but the foundation of the house. I cannot recommend this business, and would advise people not to use their services. In total, between animal removal and the meshing, I paid $1,200, and the problem has not been resolved -- on top of which I now have a gaping hole in the side of my foundation due to animal entry. read more

I hired Jason Carter for squirrel removal. Quick to respond initially, and take my payment. Then the ghosting started. He made several promises that he did not keep. Even said his wife had a heart attack on one occasion. That bought him another week of silence. I paid him January 19, 2026. He did not "finish" the job until two months later. I'm not even sure he did finish it. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. IF YOU DO, DO NOT PAY UP FRONT! It is beyond me how such people can live with themselves. No integrity. No honor. Only selfish cowardice. When confronted, he claimed his 1-star ratings on Google and the BBB are only due to "high volume" and not having time to manage reviews. Not reliable at all! Would give Zero Stars if I could. Makes you pay upfront and does not deliver what was promised. Everything was verbal. I was told that he would come out every other day and check and maintain the traps, and that he has other tools, like a spray, to lure them to the trap. Keeps saying that he will show up, but he does not. He was here the day to drop off the traps with rotten fruit (didn't notice that until he left) and one other day because we did catch one woodchuck/groundhog. Told me he would be back to replace the trap and work on the others - NEVER came back. Reached out to him, claimed he was sick and he would be here that weekend - Did not come back. Had an issue and left him a voicemail and didn't even acknowledge it or call back. We have to maintain the traps, putting new food and cleaning them out, and we paid him for this service upfront, he took advantage of my trusting nature. Con artist 100%. Hired Jason to remove bats from under roof. Contract stated he would put up a cone net where they're getting in and out, fill in and seal any other holes & chimney. This way the only hole was covered with the net so bats could get out but not back in. After 10 days he was supposed to come back and remove net and seal up last hole. $1800 was total with 1/2 down $900 to start. Took 10 days for him to come for 20 minutes with no ladder to get up on roof. He had to use the house to climb out window to get on roof. He was on roof 10 minutes and came back in. He put on net and that was it. Jason said he would be back next day with his laddder , tools and supplies to finu job( sealing up holes, gaps, chimney) that Was the last time we seen him. After that he kept saying he would be back certain day and not show up with no courtesy text or call as to why. He has completely ghosted us and won't respond to calls and texts messages. There's a reason he talks with his eyes closed and avoids eye contact. He's dishonest. Don't use them for anything. The bats are still in the ceiling under roof. If you love throwing your money in the garbage, this is the perfect place for your pest control needs. We hired Jason to remediate a squirrel issue in our house. He came to place some traps, removed them about a week later claiming there were some squirrels in them (none seen in the cages through our Ring camera so he probably just needed the cages for another job) and then failed to replace those traps with others. We called week after week and he would always promise to come the next day yet never came. Luckily we only paid half instead of the full amount he demanded but of course we're still out a couple hundred dollars and the issue persists. The company collects funds from people experiencing dire wildlife situations and does not perform the services it commits to. I hired Jason Carter to remove raccoons and repair the hole in my roof from which they entered. Foolishly, I paid the full amount up front. He removed the raccoons and said he would be back the next day to fix the hole. He did not show up so I sent him a text. He said he'd be back the next day to finish the repairs and never came. I sent multiple texts, left voicemails, and spoke to others at Fur and Feathers Wildlife explaining the situation and asking them to get him to contact me. Then said they were gone and would seal the vents and around the chimney. As we're are a out of town contractor. We took there word it was done. As we have great subs and they were recommended. Like most others here, I wish I had read the reviews here first... We had problems with critters in our attic and evidence--a gaping hole--that a raccoon had gotten into the soffit area of the house. We employed Fur and Feathers and owner Jason Carter to get rid of whatever critters we had. After placing a hav-a-hart trap on the roof, he told us that he had trapped one raccoon on the roof of our house (although we didn't see it). We have since experienced more noises, and Fur and Feathers returned and nailed rat traps around the entry hole. The night after they were installed, all of them were set off but nothing caught. During this time I have put rat traps in our attic and in a storage closet where critters had gotten into. I have trapped (killed) seven flying squirrels. However, since Jason nailed the rat traps to the roof, we've not seen hide nor hair of Fur and Feathers. Jason made two appointments to follow up but did not appear for either. He no longer responds to phone calls, texts or emails. And we are still hearing scratching, scampering and gnawing in the overhead. Service was paid for in full but now we will have to hire someone who can and will be able to finish the job. Make your own decision about whether to hire Jason Carter and Fur and Feathers Wildlife Control, but I'd recommend against it. I wonder if we all went together we could sue... read more

That was back on 10/10/22 I gave him the deposit and today i have a 4 skunk family under my house that I have to relocate and then seal off because he took my deposit and has yet to finish the contract. I paid Jason to capture squirrels in my attic. He showed up, SAID he put traps in and was paid. Three days later he texts that he caught two squirrels even though I work at home and never saw or heard him come to the house. Three days later I hear the squirrels again and call Jason. He says he will be there the next day. A week goes by and he never shows up. I finally get him to respond to a text and he says he was stuck 'cleaning an attic for three days' and will be there the next day. That was November 17, 2023. Despite phone calls to his cell and texts to his cell plus five calls to his 'office' which is simply a answering service front, I never saw or heard from him again. On a side note. This person was recommended by ANGIE. When I went on YELP, I found ten reviews for Fur and Feathers with ten other people describing the same exact thing that happened to me. When I asked Angi why did they recommend someone who had ten 1* ratings on YELP, Angi told me they don't check Yelp when investigating backgrounds. You can't make this stuff up. read more

I called this company @ 9 am this morning. The lady took my info and told me the guy (Jason) would call me back with more info later; and he absolutely did... very quickly, even. That's the end of the good service. Or any service. I asked him for just an idea of how much wildlife/animal removal from my attic would cost. He wouldn't give me a price... 'it depends on the evaluation'. You're telling me that you haven't removed enough animals that you can say, 'it's generally between this and this amount'? Instead I got, 'I mean a few hundred dollars probably.' So let's fast forward to 1217 pm. He calls. 'I'm on my way over and I'll be there within the hour.' Keep in mind that my husband and I are dog tired from this animal in our attic keeping us up all night and would just love a nap. But we have to wait. And wait. And wait. At 45 minutes late, I called. It rang twice and he sent me to his voicemail. At an hour late, I called. Rang one and a half times and he sent me to voicemail. Finally, at 1 1/2 hours late (2 1/2 hours after he called me), I left a message telling him not to bother coming because he wasted my time. As with literally almost every other review on Yelp, I wish I'd thought to check here for reviews before hiring F&F to remove what we thought was a squirrel from inside our walls. We called on Saturday 11/23/2019 because I'd finally had enough of the scratching and romping around going on inside my living room and kitchen walls. It was driving me nuts. Jason Carter, came to our home and never even came inside the house. He quickly walked around and decided it was rodents, and said he'd come back for $500 and a year warranty to do some masonry work on our stone foundation and set up traps. He said he'd be there on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. (11/27/2019). Lo and behold, he didn't come. After I messaged him desperately on Tuesday 12/3/2019 - as I sat and listened to all the scratching, he said he didn't have a chance to come out, and that he would on Thursday 12/5/2019. I gave him another week, and messaged him - he said he'd already caught 3 mice. ON 12/10/2019 - I messaged him and sent him two videos from my cell phone where you can plain as day hear the animals scratching and making very loud noises. I swear my mental health has been impacted by these noises, affecting my sleep and sanity. We had paid $500 at this point, and effectively hadn't seen any improvement. On 12/21/2019 - I messaged him AGAIN and said we were still hearing noises, and at this point they had moved to more rooms in the house. (Our 2 year old son's room, our bedroom, living room, bathroom and kitchen). NO RESPONSE FROM JASON. On 1/9/2020 - I messaged AGAIN and told him I was contemplating throwing rat poison around because this was ridiculous and there had been NO IMPROVEMENT over the scratching and thumping inside the walls. I also mentioned how my husband had seen a dead mouse in the basement in December when we had gone down there to get our Christmas decorations, and that since we had put Christmas decorations back in the basement, the mouse traps were still upside down and the one dead mouse had basically turned to dust. This PROVES that F&F was not returning to reset traps, like we had paid for per our invoice & the warranty. He DID respond to this e-mail and said he'd be out the next day - he had been overwhelmed with the holidays and a lot of work. We gave him the benefit of the doubt. On 1/20/20 - I messaged Jason to let him know that since my husband and I are at work all day, we may not see him if he comes here, but that the sound was making me crazy and I was very concerned over all the potential damage that they could be causing to the inside of our walls. After absolutely no responses, on 2/17/20 my husband intervened and wrote Jason a very lengthy e-mail and included photos where we feel the work was not completed & obviously was not successful in any way, since we are still hearing the sounds CONSTANTLY EVERY DAY. Jason apologized, and said he could come by any day, any time - we asked if he could please come on Monday 2/24/20 - at 8:00am, since we both have to work. We waited until 8:15am on Monday 2/24/20 - even though he NEVER responded to us about confirming an 8:00am Monday 2/24/20 appointment, we waited JUST IN CASE. Turns out, he never came. On 2/25/20 - we messaged him to ask if he came out. We told him we waited until 8:15 but that we had to get to work, and we assume he never came. On 3/7/20 - my husband messaged him to still give Jason Carter the benefit of the doubt, even though I told him Jason is a sham and waste of time & money. I wish I had NEVER hired this man or his company. I am devastated that I wasted $500 of my family's HARD EARNED MONEY to not even solve this problem. I am going absolutely bonkers over the sounds all night long of these rodents scratching. I'm convinced it's not even mice, since I haven't seen any droppings inside. I have ALWAYS thought this was a squirrel inside our walls - and Jason dismissed it so quickly - all I wanted to do was believe the "professionals". JASON IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL. I wish I could give a zero. It looks like I'm the latest sucker and his scams. he came out to take a look at a skunk that was living under my porch. He told me it would take 250 right that day to trap the skunk. Foolishly I paid him I thought to myself you don't pay people before they do their job with no contract, or even a name. But I would got flustered, and I was a little bit scared, because of the skunk being under the porch he told me that it would be $250 more for him to put up a barrier. If he did not try the Skunk I can get the skunk from underneath it I paid that and he put up the barrier so I'm now in for $500. Jason has not shown up since he is left a worthless trap in front of a hole where the skunk goes in and out of over and over again he will not respond to calls or texts I reported him to the game commission already, but I doubt there is anything they can do. I am very much considering pursuing a small claims lawsuit against him. I will also be going after him mercilessly on social media, and I am considering writing to news outlets about his terrible company. I've never really been scam like this before and it feels terrible $500 is a lot of money and now I actually have to pay someone who knows how to do it correctly. If anyone is still on here that sees this, and would like to pursue a larger suit against this man I would love that. We paid Jason this past winter to get rid of the family of flying squirrels that were living in our walls. He filled their entry point(s) and set numerous traps in the walls, in the basement, etc. He caught nothing. Our dogs killed 7 of them during the nights over a span of those few weeks that Jason had traps set. The problem stopped. Jason collected his empty traps and his paycheck ($800) and gave us a 2 year promise that the problem was fixed but he would return if we had further problems. Fast forward to just a few weeks ago. The squirrels are back. Texted Jason and he said he'd be there the next day. No show. I sent texts, I called a few times but no reply. I also called the 3rd party answering service a few times. They said they would pass on my messages. Still no reply. I just called Jason again directly this morning and his phone has been disconnected!! I wish I had seen the Yelp reviews before hiring this company and Jason. We hired Jason to handle a problem with birds. He came out to give us a quote and we paid him a 50% deposit. He informed us that it would take about a week for him to order the supplies and custom make a netting. He cashed the check the same day. A week went by with no updates. Then two weeks. Then three. I began to worry so I contacted the company in which they have an answering service set up. I left several messages over the next few weeks to no reply or update. I became furious and then found all of these negative reviews about Jason doing the same thing to several other people. I immediately contacted the BBB and reported the company. Jason immediately responded to the complaint stating that I "attacked" him by reporting him to the BBB. He also then stated that he was swamped and didn't have time to do this job and was returning our check. What a waste of time and emotions. He then decided to begin texting me ridiculous accusations without any kind of apology. We did finally receive our money back which we strongly needed. Do not use this company. I was in contact with Jason Carter several times when working out a contract to remove squirrels from the soffit in my house. After I signed the contract and paid him half down, I heard back from him once when I called to check in. I never saw him at the house once, nor had my neighbors. I had not seen traps set on my roof either, making me believe he never started the job. After calling and giving him time to respond with the holidays not falling long after the contract was signed, I determined he was not going to call me back despite several messages to him and over a dozen to his answering service. I contacted the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to mediate with this company to refund my money. To this companies credit, the very day I filed the complaint I received notice that he was issuing a refund. It stated he was unable to perform the service at this time and considered this matter resolved. My advice would be to go to the BBB site and look up Fur and Feathers Wildlife Control before hiring him. I wish I had not hired him for all the time I spent trying to contact him I could have been finding someone who would fix the problem. read more

I called Furs & Weathers Wildlife Control because of a noise I was hearing in my attic. Jason came out to give me an estimate and assess what was going on. He told it a mouse issue, not squirrels. He told me the work he would do and asked for a deposit. I wrote him a check for the deposit, which was cashed out of my account the next day. He said he would come back the following Wednesday. I ended up cancelling the service within 72 hours. I asked him to refund my deposit. He said he would mail it back to me the following Monday. I did not receive it. I reached out to him again and was told he would personally get it to me if I did not receive it by a certain date. That date passed and I never received it. I called him back again and the message said his phone was no longer in service. However, I must be blocked since when he was called by another phone number it went to his voicemail. After I cancelled the service, I was stilling hearing noises in the attic. Thinking it was a squirrel issue (not mice) I decided to have someone else come out. They confirmed it was squirrels. It ended up being gray squirrels and several were caught. I did not get my deposit back and my issue in the attic was not what he said it was. He also never had me sign the contract. read more

I am a Rental Community Manager in Big Flats, NY. I received a phone call from tenants about wild animal noises and arrived at their apartment around 11:30pm. Hearing the sounds, and automatically thinking it could be rabid animals, I sent the tenants to a hotel. It was late that night when I contacted Fur and Feathers. I assumed I would be pushed to an answering service. Instead I was sent to a company voice mail. (I do not like the answering services) I started leaving a voice-mail when lo and behold the office of Fur & Feathers was calling me! I explained the situation. The owner thoroughly explained what the company does, how things are handled, and the small (very small) fee to come determine what was wrong at the units. He scheduled to come out at his first availability, which was within 36 hours. He was prompt and professional- a very direct and energetic man. After all the dealings I had with him over the week, I would describe the owner as a reliable, fair, and friendly man who has passion for his career field. He immediately tracked where the animals were gaining entrance. I was impressed. I was also very glad the company has insurance, as he was jumping over lattice-sided outside steps onto a slippery, slightly-sloped, snowy and icy roof!! (Feb 2015) After the roof, he then tackled the determining factors from inside the unit. It turns out there were wild cats that took over the drop ceiling area! He was very knowledgeable and was extremely good at explaining how he determined what type of animal had come into the home. We went to my office on premises and discussed the services and fee. He was patient with my many questions and was thorough with his answers. I was happy to know the animals would be rescued and kept alive, although I was quite upset about the damages the animals caused. I gladly reached for my checkbook and paid a little over half of the bill to assure I could retain his services. Before he left, he was back on the roof setting cages to trap the animals. The company checked the cages daily to be humane, and removed the traps on the weekend because they would not be coming to check them. The company trapped then checked to see if there were more animals by placing a temporary removable cover while they kept the traps in place. After making sure the animals were gone, they covered the entrance point permanently and started the clean-up from inside of the unit. In this case, they removed three huge trash bags of torn-up, urine-covered, and sprayed-upon insulation out of the drop ceiling. When they closed off the entrance point, there was a small section that was missed, but the owner of the company is thorough. On the clean-up day, the owner of F&F found a very small opening and covered it immediately. Nice to know that he double checks everything that he does and was honest and upfront about it. (I wouldn't have known...) I had at first considered hiring a local non-professional to assist me instead of Fur & Feathers. Let's see...Costs: traps and food, daily checking, removing the animals, possible rabies or animal attacks, dependability, God knows what else, clean up and removal of all that nasty insulation, material to cover the entrance point, the ability to locate the entrance point.... Geez, I would have had to pay double what I paid Fur and Feathers to do it on my own with a non-professional. (And, anyway, someone not acquainted with wildlife or dealing with working on a roof could have gotten hurt...) I am so happy I went ahead and hired Fur & Feathers. :-) I made the remainder of the payment on the same day of clean-up. I was pleased to have received electronic invoices/payment receipts. The owner kept in contact with me over the phone as the job happened. Total time: 1 week Tue - I called Thu - They came and set traps Fri - Continued with checking traps then removed traps for the weekend and set up temp barrier Mon - checked barrier and closed up entrance Tue - clean up and removal I even have a warranty on work performed. Do not use this service! When I first called he answered and he sent someone over, I had a bat in the house. I thought WOW that was great service. He answered all my test messages followed up with me talked me into an whole house inspection and remediation with a 3 year guarantee for $1500.00. I agreed and they came and said my problem was solved, hooray right! Wrong it is a vacation house and the next time we were up there were bats and a lot of bats! Called, he answered said he would come and he was a no show and never heard from him again. I called several times directly and through his service and texted him and nothing. Had them come out to my property in Oneonta they told me the game plan of how to deal with the squirrel issues I was having. after coming out 2 or three weeks squirrels were gone but, they didn't complete the work they stated they would be replacing the 8 feet of aluminum siding and plugging the entry holes. That part never happened so 11 months in to there warranty (18 month)of work they promise I called them multiple times they kept pushing back when they could come out then just putting me on hold and saying the boss would call me back. Here it is 3 months later of trying to contact them and they are still not coming out or calling me back. 500$ I paid and learned to never pay till all services are fully completed. Their representative JASON CARTER prepared an invoice for $2080.00 for removal of squirrels from our attic. He received $1080.00 as deposit and brought back two traps and set them without bait. He was supposed to come back every three days to check. He cashed the check for $1080 that same day and disappeared. We left messages for him but have not seen hide or hair. This experience is similar to other previous actions by JASON CARTER with other customers. We have reported this to the Better Business Bureau and to FurandFeatherswildlifecontrol. No stars. How does this man sleep at night? What a horrible businessman and an even worse human being. Does not return calls or texts, does not show up for appointments, does not honor his "warranty". Two years ago he came out to take care of a bat problem, I had a little bit of an issue with him then, not showing up for a scheduled meeting-I had taken off from work to meet him- He resolved it by deducting a small amount from my bill. Now the bat problem is back. But apparently since there's no real incentive for him to come out as it's under warranty and there would be no money involved. he is just blowing me off. Then of course I see that in the last three years there have been 47 Better Business Bureau complaints lodged against him. Make that 48. Don't waste your money, he is as worthless as the warranty he peddles. read more
