My wife rented a booth from this place and it was nothing but a losing proposition! Nobody knows about this place because you would never suggest it to a friend !! Total waste of time. ! I shopped, but anything I was interested in, they acted like it was a pain to get it out of there cases to let me inspect. I had picked out a mink coat for my wife for Christmas , but after I though about it , I went to David Green Furriers!

Rethink Home is a family-owned business located on W. Fireweed across from the VFW Post between Arctic and Spenard. The display floor is filled with an interesting mix of antique furniture, novelty items like 80's icon shirt button pins (Pac-Man, Mr. T, Galaga, Max Headroom, He-Man, and Q-Bert among others), a large detailed oil-style painting of Audrey Hepburn from the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's displayed on the rear wall in the back room, Alaskan memorabilia, and crafts from local artists. Like all of my other reviews on antique stores, my main focus is the vinyl they have in wooden crates set up by the front register. The collection here is relatively small and like the secondhand thrift stores, they will arrive randomly without notice. There was an array of albums from the 40's and 50's up to the more modern artists from the 70's and 80's. I saw a few that caught my attention but unfortunately had to pass on because of the condition of some of the records. Some jazz albums I considered buying had visible surface scratches and split seams on either the top or bottom of the album covers. At $5 to $8 on some of these, these were priced relatively high by their condition alone. However, they did have a separate crate of records that were marked down to $2 or 50% from their original selling price, but again the condition was a concern. The nearby secondhand thrift stores had vinyl in better shape at only $1 apiece or .60 at the lowest with minimal surface scratches or fully intact album covers with the original inner sleeve available. However, the people running this store are very friendly and this place is a good option for anyone looking to purchase some paintings or a detailed wood-carved piece of vintage furniture.

Amy's is SUCH a strange little store. Since I live around the corner, I've driven past it more…read moretimes than I can count and my curiosity finally got the better of me. The signs outside are all in Korean, so I had NO idea what to expect. So I walk in and immediately I'm greeted by a shy little Korean lady who is clearly flummoxed by the fact that a white lady just ventured into her store. She eeks out a hello and eyeballs me as I wander, confused, around her store. This store is tiny and well, weird. At the front of the store there's dimestore Korean items. Things such as mesh tents to put over your picnic food to keep the bugs off. Hmmm. Odd, but ok. The wall is lined with some quality rice makers. After that things get weirder because after the rice makers are women's clothing of questionable fashion. Badly dressed grandma clothing is the best description I can come up with. Hanboks for toddlers. Then comes the super bad selection of grandma shoes. Kinda like orthotic knock-offs. Then off to the right is a very, very random assortment of food items. Puffed rice crackers in HUGE bags. Black rice in bulk. Seaweed. A few cold/frozen items. Dehydrated "healthy" homeopathic mushroom things. Really REALLY random items, all in bulk. For those items, I will be back. The rice and lentils were a good price. Nowhere in the store did I see any Home Decor of any kind. So I'm actually more confused and curious than I was when I went in. Since Amy's english is very broken, I couldn't extrapolate any kind of explanation about the home decor thing. Maybe she does interior decorating on the side? Korean speaking friends, please illuminate me!
