Months I began looking for a living room sofa set. I visited showrooms all over San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles. Until I visited Furniture Depot in Chula Vista, most the sofas and accent chairs were either cheap, poorly constructed, overpriced, they didn't have the size sofa for my living room... or the fabric wasn't the color I was looking for to match my other living room decor. One store I was going to buy from prior, the owner had me pay for the entire living room set upfront "because it was custom" then after waiting over a month the guy told me the fabric was discontinued. I found a swatch sample in their showroom that was basically identical, but the owner told me it would be $1,500 more for that fabric. I told him the deal is dead, give me my money back, which he did. I concluded the guy seemed nice but he was like a wolf in sheep's clothing. After that painful ordeal, I went and searched showrooms in San Diego's South Bay. I was about to give up but there was one last store I went into that day on Broadway in Chula Vista, Furniture Depot. Right from the beginning I was impressed. Their showroom larger than most furniture stores with vastly different styles throughout. The manager Dustin greeted me shortly after I walked in. He was there to assist and answer any questions I had. Dustin was very knowledgeable about all the products. He put everything at ease. It was a relief speaking with someone in the business who was honest and transparent about everything. After speaking with him only a few minutes I knew I was going to make my purchase through this store. Everything I was interested in could be ordered new, he explained. He offered custom sizes and many colors to choose from. Dollar for dollar, based on the quality of product, I don't think there's any local competitor that can match their service or quality. The turn-around for the custom-sized furniture was very fast, less than 2 weeks. The guys who delivered the product performed a white glove delivery service for a very low reasonable fee, lower cost than most furniture places offer. I ended up buying a 92" sofa, ottoman and accent chair - all new - all matching fabric, great quality, and very comfortable to sit and lay in. I'm glad I found this place. After 4 months of wasted email, calls, holding on the phone, they are still giving us the runaround after paying over $800 cash. Poor customer service. Stopped in to window shop for a new couch. Just inside the door we met Jesse. He was extremely nice and simply said he was available for any questions. He was not pushy and didn't follow us around like other places. They have a huge selection in many different styles so it's easy to find what you're looking for. Most of their couches can be upholstered to your liking. Jesse stayed within sight and earshot which was perfect since we had multiple questions once we found a couch that suited us. There was no pressure to buy that day and Jesse gave us his card for when we're ready. We told him there is a lot going on with our upcoming wedding but we'd return when ready. Saved about $400 shopping somewhere else for the exact same sectional couch. I loved the explanation from one of the salesmen that they have the lowest prices due the fact that social media exists. Lol you don't. Due to social media I know you don't! There's another discount store a few miles away from you that sold me same couch for $400 less. Delivery was also 3x the price of the other store and they were kind enough to throw that in for free. They do have a wide selection of furniture. The place is clean and organized. I just hate the fact that they think I'll fall for their BS. Due to social media there's no way to even try to justify that unreasonable mark up. read more

This store has a huge variety of furnitures. They also carry Ashley Brand items, not the best or the worst quality, somewhere along the middle. I bought many items to furnish our new home, the family, formal, living, formal dining, guestroom, and all of the bedrooms. The service is dependent on how the salesman gage your appearance. For me, service was great. The delivery was great as well. They take the pieces and assemble for you where ever you want to place them. It beats going to costco where you have to do all the work yourself. The prices are fair and the condition of the furniture is great. Be careful, the service is a hit or miss. Just because you get great service one day doesn't mean you are going to have the same experience next time. Since there is a huge markup in furniture, they are willing to negotiate. Three stars because I didn't feel a connection with the store, it's all about business and how much money is made from the transaction. Don't be fooled by the ok prices, you will either get something broken or something missing and trying to get that fixed is like pulling teeth! Dustin may act nice and use his "charm" to seal the deal but in the end you get the short end of the stick. Oscar helped us and again, used his "charm" but when you needed them to fix their mistake you get screwed. The owner (asian lady with heavy accent) is (pardon my french) a B! We bought beds, matressess, etc...they delivered the wrong bed. When we went back to the showroom they didn't want to acknowlege that it was wrong until they couldn't prove otherwise (the size was wrong). It took them a week to fix it. They sold me a part I didn't need and even gave us a refund. When the right bed came that part was needed again and even though it was their mistake, they wouldn't fess up and tried to sell us the same part for more $. COME ON! That day not Dustin or Oscar were available to speak. The people who answered where rude and when we got patched over to the owner who knew nothing about what was going on she wanted to charge us more and gave us serious attitude. Needless to say, we bought that part elsewhere and will NOT go back to these guys. I've heard from other people after the fact who also get wrong pieces delivered and bad customer service. I am not happy at all with the mattress they sold us. We were led to believe that the $1200 mattress that was sold to us was the most cushionable mattress and the day we picked it up, i noticed the mattress was very wobbly in the middle. well now we have this king size mattress and we are on month 7 months and the every time we sit or lay in it, the mattress now sinks in and the top has many folds/ lumpy folds. if we sit on the edge, the mattress folds inward. we are never going to shop at this store ever again for a mattress. for the price we paid , the mattress should not be having these issues in 7 months. i feel we left home with some kind of refurbished mattress. $1200 is alot of money that just went down the drain. now we have to wait 1 to 2 yrs just to buy another one. we are not ready to just drop $ again out there. we have lost faith and trust into getting a dam good mattress that is actually worth the price! I went to Furniture Depot on Sunday and while someone did come out to greet me, the customer service was not what I expected. I wanted to purchase a nightstand to go with my Ashley's bedroom set. The nightstand at Ashley's is $350 so I was hoping to get a better deal. The guy who "helped" me started by telling me that $350 was a pretty fair price. When I asked if they had any Labor Day specials he said that he could waive the sales tax and sell it to me for $350. Then I asked if they had a nightstand similar to the Ashley's model and he showed me one for $300 and then said that I might as well get the one from Ashley's for a little more. I asked if he could show me what he had in the store and when I finally found a night stand that would work he told me that he wouldn't sell it to me because it had to be sold with the complete bedroom set. Supposedly, they weren't making the set anymore so he couldn't sell just the nightstand which, in all honesty, sounds like complete BS. I'm not sure if this guy thought I was trying to finance a nightstand or if he didn't think I would pay cash but he definitely acted as if he didn't want my business. Needless to say, I left and went to the furniture store up the street from this place and purchased a night stand. They were much more helpful. Update regarding the response below: If you cared about the customer's needs you would have assisted with what I was asking for instead of telling me to go with the more expensive night stand or giving me reasons why you couldn't sell the one that I finally did select. You showed me ONE nightstand similar to the one that I had and then I had to ask YOU to show me what you had available in store. read more

My girlfriend and I had our eye on a really nice cal king bedroom set for a long time at Furniture Depot. We finally pulled the trigger and so glad we did! Huge upgrade from our ikea crap!! For the mattress, it was hard to choose one because of the number of comfortable nice mattresses. We went with the diamond cool touch memory foam mattress! My achy bones are now smiling!!! We're finally sleeping deep and wake up ready to party! Love the quality, look, and finish of the bed, dresser and side tables. All for an incredible price! We couldn't be more stoked!! We purchased a bunkbed from this company. First they sent us home with the wrong bed. Then they told us the color we originally purchased was out of stock but we could get another color. We waited two to three weeks to put the bed together. When we put it together I realized we only had one support beam, we were suppossed to have eight. We returned to the store and asked for the other beams, they told us they would get them (Joey told us he would get them). However, nobody ever called us. Took us two weeks and they tried to make up various stories as to why we couldn't get them. Then they told us to come in after 4. When we got there they went in the back and looked for wood they could cut to make the support beams. In the end they gave us four, so now we have five. The four they gave us do not fit. I asked about the other three and they refused. I told them I paid for the bed and want the beams. He told me that they can try to get them. When pressed for a timeline he through out three weeks after being VERY rude. So they are asking me to wait five weeks for support beams. Incredibly rude service. Made us wait for thirty minutes while he cut beams that don't fit. They don't stand by their service. Save yourself a headache and go to Walmart. Quality may not be great but at least they know what customer service is. There is 16 complaints filed against this company to the BBB. read more

Dustin helped us get a bed in the style we wanted, and that was amazing because we are kind of picky. He showed us some great mattresses, and he explained what we needed to know about the different brands without a lot of pressure. My wife and I found one that we actually agreed on, and it's been extremely refreshing to sleep on it and wake up rested. They have good prices and a lot to choose from. I gave them 1 star because the customer service sucked! We walked in and was not even greated. My fiance and I were the only ones in the store. We walked around most of it before running into a guy who worked there who just looked up at us and then looked back down at his phone. My fiance asked what the deals were and how they operated. His response was " We do several different types of financing. He then again went back to being on his phone. Never once did he ask if we needed help with anything or if he wanted to check out our status with financing. It sucked because I really wanted a living room set and a new dining room table! Friendly! Didnt even feel like he was trying to sell me product. I was confused if I wanted to go extra firm with my new mattress. Dustin showed the perfect bed. And it was even lower prices than the extra frim one i was looking at. To top it off he told me about bamboo sheets. I thought it was a up sale. But everything was just a upgrade. Please don't be fooled by pricing and the charm of the salesman in this store. I purchased a dresser and 2 nightstands that they said were in stock. When we went to pick up our purchase we were informed that the dresser was not in stock and that i would have it no later than the 31st. Here we are on the 6th and I had to call to speak to a manager to find out that the dresser would not be in until the 31st. The manager Dustin did agree to have the dresser delivered to my doorstep (eventhough the salesman Oscar said they set it up and attach the handles) at no charge but was not apologetic about the inconsistency of his employees and pricing.
