The first time we purchased for Furniture World we had issues but everything was resolved. So I decided to give them another try. I walked in looking to replace the recliner I had with but I kind of wanted to avoid the exact same model. The one I had previously had defect. I tested every recliner and end up going with the same recliner I had before. The company had changed what I didn't like about my first one so I thought it would be fine. I show them the recliner I want sitting on the floor with the only difference being I wanted electric. Here's the first warning. Just be prepared to spend over $1000 for a recliner then waiting months to get it. Then have the wrong model delivered. Then you wait months more to get the recliner you wanted in the first place and it is poorly manufactured from the factory. The left arm has way less padding than the right arm. When I say less I mean it looks like a deflated balloon. It's less than half so you sit sideways. The chair hurts my back. The almost $1200 recliner hurts my back and every time I sit in it I am reminded of how much I hate this chair and all the trouble I had getting it. You might say well I should have paid more attention when they delivered it. My father was in the hospital at the time and I was running back and forth taking care of my mother. He was being discharged the day of the delivery. I had waited so long I just wanted to get things done. Now I'm stuck with a chair I hate and every time I look at it I'm disgusted. If they don't have what you want in stock you will wait a long time. The prices get higher and quality goes down (I know they didn't build the chair). If you live anywhere outside of Lexington delivery is limited to certain times. You may have a different experience than I did. The sales people are nice to deal with. There was just the mistake of ordering the wrong model, but everyone is friendly. For me personally I can't say I'd shop there again. To say I'm disappointed and unhappy is an understatement. read more

We purchased a bed from the Mt. Tabor location in Lexington, KY, and were told it would arrive in four weeks. It did--but after spending four hours putting it together, we realized they gave us a twin frame instead of the full size we ordered. I went to the store the next day (they were closed Sunday) and the staff was very apologetic and helpful. They said they'd reorder the correct frame with the next shipment so we wouldn't have to wait another four weeks, and they promised delivery and assembly when it arrived. Two weeks later, we got a call confirming delivery for Saturday--but when we asked about assembly, we were told they wouldn't be putting it together due to the type of bed. When we called the store, they said, "Oh no, we don't assemble those. They take too long. Sorry." So while the staff seemed helpful in person, the overall experience was frustrating--poor communication, broken promises, and extra work for us after their original mistake. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Unless the item you are wanting is in stock and you can take it with you the day you buy it, don't do it. I understand delays, especially these days, but the lack of communication was astoundingly ridiculous. We had gone to several places and finally settled on a full bed at this location on 1/16/2025. We paid for the bed and a night stand that was supposedly in stock but we elected to pick that up when the bed was ready. We were told it would take 6 weeks. A full week later we then received a phone call on 1/22/2025 stating that the bed we chose does not come in a full size. They offered to send photos through text message of similar beds, we agreed. I did not receive the pictures until the next day after calling them back again and having to request them again. We went into the store that week to view the options in person and (reluctantly) ordered a different bed. We were told this one would take 8 weeks. We also went ahead and ordered a box spring to be picked up with the bed and night stand when the bed came in. After we left the store it was crickets, never heard anything else. We called on 3/27/2025, where I was placed on hold, transferred 3 times, and then asked if I could be called back. Once called back I was told it would be on the track the next week. I asked if there was a specific day the truck would be there (since we do not live in Lexington), I was told they don't know what days the trucks will come in but that I would receive a call. That week passed and on Saturday, 4/5/2025 my husband called. At that point we were told it could be another 2-3 weeks. At this point we were frustrated, mostly over the lack of communication. We decided we would rather cancel the entire order and take our money elsewhere. In order to do that we had to go into the store for a third time. We live almost an hour away which just added more inconvenience on top of the entire frustrating experience. DO NOT RECOMMEND. read more

I just want to take a minute and say just how much my I appreciate Angela and the folks at Furniture World on Mt. Tabor. They went out of their way for me every time. Service like theirs is something that in today's world is hard to find. From it being a tare that needed repaired or simply a question I needed answered. They are very professional, and I would and do highly recommend them to anyone. I don't just say that for anyone. They truly are the best. If you need help with financing, as I did. Absolute worst customer service in the furniture industry. We purchased a couch in March and were quoted a May delivery date. Two months sounded a bit long to us but we understand times are nort normal right now. We have now called in five times over the last four months to ask where our couch is at. They keep giving us updated delivery dates that they never met. We got another updated date today for a month from now. I have zero confidence it will be delivered so I asked for a refund. Of course the person that can "authorize refunds" isn't there today, so now I will have to call back again. So at best, we will get our money back, and have been jerked around for six months. read more

Without a doubt the best Furniture store my parents or I have ever been in. The Staff was very quick to ask us if we needed any help or anything and were quick to let us know about any sales or special discount offers. We were looking for a living room suit for my niece and one Employer named Angela I believe was quick to point out just what she needed for her small apartment. The floors were so clean you could almost eat off them and the place had a very pleasant vanilla smell, maybe candles idk but this was definitely the greatest Furniture World we have ever been in and we have been to many. I have purchased several pieces of furniture from the Georgetown store and it's always been a positive experience. One of my visits I was looking for a particular piece of furniture to complete my set, the salesman took the time to sift through his other distributors only to find out it had been discontinued. I recently purchased another piece and are delighted it fIts perfect in my living room. I have been to other furniture store in surrounding cities and always end up purchasing from Furniture World in Georgetown. Will be back again this year for more furniture. When I called the furniture company they SAID they would take care of it. Never heard back from them. I am now having to contact the Attoney Generals office and the BBB. I ordered a nice chest of drawers from The Danville store. The Lexington store had one in stock and it was scheduled for delivery on Friday between 1:30 and 4:30. Delivery was made at 1:30. The delivery guys carried to the upstairs bedroom. Five stars would have been given if they would've had it in stock in Danville. Very happy to give four stars! read more

The customer service leaves a lot to be desired. They delivered the wrong mattress, not the one I had picked out. The day they delivered it I went to the store and told them it was the wrong one. Then, since they couldn't get their truck back to my house, they asked me to bring it back to the store. I informed them that I had no way to get it back to them. At first they did not want to take the mattress back. They told me that there was no proof that they had made the mistake. And then when they finally decided to give me the correct mattress they charged a $165 dollar restock fee for their incompetence. read more

The items sold to me was a couch that was a piece of junk, really, I have had this less than 6 months and they want to repair a couch. The first delivery was damaged and the second had a craked leg that was to be repaired but when the repair man got there he said they were all miss matched, those were replaced and now the material is coming off the cushions and staples are coming out and the frame is exposed but guess what.... that has to be repaired. so we are on a service call again. The salesmen in Richmond where I bought my furniture; a bedroom suite was wonderful. Richmond Kentucky service is great HOWEVER the paid delivery of $89.00-apparently delivery comes out of Lexington, was horrible as I took off work for the 3 hour window 1:30-4:30 and at 6:30 they were still not here with my furniture. Horrible service and not worth the $89.00 they charged me. I have asked for a partial refund as they are very critical of the buyer if you should not be home or if furniture does not fit , why don't they have a rule on their contract that addresses their issue of a 2 hour out of window delivery time. ? I took off work for 3 hours non paid and they did not come nor show up and at 6:30 pm I'm still waiting. At least they need to partial refund the delivery being they made me wait 2 hours more. Their delivery department needs help! I helped my 82 year old mom pick out living room furniture, and arranged for delivery. They took it to her retirement home, and left part of it and said the couch would not fit in elevator. I tried numerous times to talk to management, and asked them to take it back, but they refused. I was required to hire a moving company to pick up the couch from the loading dock, and deliver it. They had no problems fitting the couch in their huge 9 feet long freight elevator, which would have held two couches. Their warehouse and delivery folks make buying too much of a hassle. Amazing customer service. I purchased a couch from them 2 years ago along with the separate 10 year warranty. I had some "accidents" with my couch and they never hesitated to help me navigate the company that handles the warranty. Even when that company was less than helpful, the employees at Furniture World continued to help me resolve the issues, long after their factory warranty had expired. I highly recommend purchasing furniture from them. I see other people have had some complaints with their delivery department but I did not. They were great!
