I was so impressed with how clean Furrylicious was and how healthy and happy all the puppies were. The staff and owner were all a delight to deal with. They were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. It was very obvious how much they loved all the puppies. It's great to be able to come somewhere and interact with the puppies to make sure that they are a good fit for you. I purchased a mini Berniedoodle that is by far the most darling puppy. I met my mini golden doodle at the end of April and was able to take her home 2 days later. I had to make a private appointment to come in the store since we were all quarantined but Cindy (the owner) made it happen as soon as possible. Cindy was very responsive and followed up with me after I took Daisy home. She wanted to make sure Daisy was doing OK which I thought was very nice! The girls working in the store were also so sweet. The store was clean and all puppies appeared to be well cared for. I received a binder with all Daisy's information including her medical history, birth location, information regarding her parents, etc. Daisy was completely healthy, with no issues after my vet checked her out. (My vet jokes that she takes "happy pills" because she is so good even when she gets a shot!) I would recommend Furrylicious to anyone looking to find a puppy in a relatively short amount of time. I believe all puppies deserve good homes regardless of where you get them from! read more

For me buying a puppy was not an easy decision. Cindy and the staff at Furrylicious went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure that the puppy I fell in love with was the right fit for me and my family. Avoid this 'boutique' at all costs!! My family looked at a dog here today & had the worst experience imagineable. The owner is a rude, condescending, mean & nasty individual. The dogs are grossly overpriced compared to reputable breeders & turns out we were fortunate to not make an 'emotional' purchase as when we mentioned the name to a number of breeders, the words 'puppy mill' were regularly voiced. In addition, a number of neighbors in our condo (we've only just moved & are unfamiliar with the most reputable stores in the area) advised us against buying here due to the widespread knowledge of the use of puppy mills. Why else would reputable breeders allow exorbitant markups on their dogs when everyone has access to the internet & Google these days! Save yourself the trip & avoid this overpriced store run by a nasty individual who needs some training in manners, honesty & compassion. Another store happy to play on peoples' emotions & ignorance of the way to buy high quality dogs. Purchase here if you're ignorant & want a memorably horrible experience! And do yourself a favour & read the other reviews from a lot of very unhappy people who have had very negative experiences. For all previous reviewers that stated these puppies come from a puppy mill you could not be more correct!! I had debated for soo sooo long posting about this "boutique" but I feel others should know what they are getting themselves into!! I had no intention of making any type of purchase coming here but I had been looking for my pup quite sometime just couldn't find the right one, and then this mini Aussie made eyes at me and it was instant love. He is now two years old and I don't even recognize him! The health issues this dog has faced has been a nightmare for him and I! Please beware before making a purchase here, better yet don't!!!! When I called the owner asking for his breeders contacts to see if what my pup had was genetic she gave me the run around and pretended to be someone else asking me to call back like I wouldn't recognize her voice!! Everyone that works there is so friendly and welcoming. I had an awesome experience from the moment walking in till the moment I walked out with my new baby! They even offered to walk him out for me! These are high end puppies and are worth every penny. My little boy (Ruger)has settled in nicely with his big brother (Bandit). I was under the impression that this was an upscale pet supply store, but when the stench of urine assaulted me upon entering, I quickly realized that it was actually a "designer puppy" pet shop- complete with the blinged-out outfits reminiscent of the now-cliche dog character in the Legally Blonde movie. There were about ten barely weaned (presumably puppy mill) puppies for sale when I was there- only four of which had water in their bowl on the humid, 90 degree day. There was one other customer in the shop at the time and both employees were gushing over her because her dog was apparently a previous Furrylicious purchase. The employees ignored me until she made a remark that she didn't want her (unleashed) dog going anywhere near "the big dog": my veritable giant in all her 11 pound rescue glory...LEASHED (and completely awesome), mind. To make the experience more absurd, when one of the employees noticed me looking at a pink dog polo shirt, she rushed over to inform me that the shirt was "for a boy" "even though" it was pink. Really? We're imposing gender stereotypes on companion animals these days? Sigh. Adopt, don't shop!! As an aside, there was a beautiful, brown (gasp! gargantuan!) poodle short-leashed to the wall in the back of the store where children's clothes were sold (!?) to which no one paid any attention. A WORD ABOUT THE OWNER'S RESPONSE TO MY ORIGINAL REVIEW ABOVE: The AKC does not inspect kennels, nor does it vouch for the health or well-being of a puppy; AKC registered simply means the puppy had two parents of the same breed. I've been a client for many years. My dog has always been well cared for while being groomed and always looked and smelled great when we picked him up. Recently it's been difficult to make an appointment. Last time we called, they only had a groomer 2 days a week. These puppies are kept in small boxes all day. The only socialization they get is when someone wants to play with a puppy they like in the playpen. What about the puppies that don't get chosen to go out and play? Do they stay in a box all day long? Some of these boxes have over 2 puppies in them as well. People must be really naive to buy a puppy that costs 4,500 dollars from a place where you don't even know where the puppies come from. I asked how much a shih tzu cost and the lady working told me it was 4500...I was like hell no. I found a professional reputable breeder that breeds her puppies from her home and charged 2,000 for a puppy which is a much more reasonable price. Furrylicious most likely gets their puppies from puppy mills because they constantly have so many puppies at the store, all different breeds. Don't waste your money on a dog that is way overpriced when you can find a professional breeder that shows you the puppy's parents and health records, for a much better price. As soon as I walked into Furrylicicous something felt so wrong about seeing all these puppies in boxes with random people picking and choosing which one they want to hold and then putting them back in the box because they don't want the dog anymore. Dogs are living things not accessories! I'm gonna say this again, do your research before buying a puppy, don't rush into it by just going to a pet store to buy a dog. read more

I read many positive reviews on this puppy boutique so I was excited to go and see what puppies were available for purchase. Upon entering the boutique, everything looked very nice and clean but when I approached the puppies most of the glass enclosures where they reside were dirty with feces. Some of the puppies had feces on their fur and paws. I was surprised to see this since the place gets so many amazing reviews and cleanliness is always mentioned in those reviews. Maybe I walked in when they were having an off day? One of the puppies I wanted to see had a glob of soft feces on its side. I mentioned it to one of the employees and she did wipe the dog clean but the fur on its side remained wet and sticky. Most dog beds also had feces stains and smears. I can understand that it is difficult to keep the dogs clean at all times since there are about 2 to 4 dogs in each enclosure depending on the size of the dogs, but for a high end boutique this is not acceptable. I have been in regular puppy stores and have not seen this many dirty enclosures. As I was leaving, one of the larger dogs had just soiled itself and was standing in its own feces. I informed the employee and she apologized. Maybe they should consider walking these dogs more frequently to avoid the issue? I do not know what the solution is but all the dogs were beautiful and deserve to be cleaned more often. Another turn off for me is the responses from the owner to negative reviews of her business on Yelp and Google Reviews. I understand that some reviewers have their own agenda and want to discredit this business in order to pressure potential customers into adopting, but the owner's responses are down right rude and aggressive in some instances. There is no need to respond to negative reviews in that manner since the majority of reviews are positive. If they cleaned the enclosures with more frequency, I would feel better about this place. read more

I would caution customers buying a puppy from there, if your motivation is that your dog is coming from a USDA licensed breeder. I went to her store to purchase a puppy for the first time, because I wanted piece of mind that the puppy was coming from a place were he/she was well treated. After asking her to provide me with the license # of the breeder indicated on my paperwork (the dog had coccidia before me buying it and a recurrence after within less than 14 days of purchase), I was given 3 different places from where the dog could come from in Iowa! My vet alerted me that this type of infection typically came from kennel where dogs were bread in insanitary conditions. Cindy finally agve me a license # (after about 1 week of emails). Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the license # took me to a a breeder in Iowa who was not the same as the one on my paperwork, and on the top of that was accused of animal abuse. Cindy makes you pay a heafty price for your puppy (mine was over $2000), assure you they come from a licensed breeder, at the end, this is false advertising! She was never able to give me the license # of the breeder on my paperwork, and she gave me Kruse's instead (what a reassurance!) Many of her puppies likely come from what one may call a "puppy mill or equivalent"! Insanitary conditions for dogs, where they are used to eat each other poop. If you buy from there, you basically contribute to maintain this cartel! I reported her to the BBB, and do not intend to stop there, this is outrageous! read more

Amazing !!! Furrylicious is just a wonderful boutique of adorable healthy puppies. They are so cute and well cared for. Let's start with the experience when you first walk in - you are surrounded by an atmosphere of love and personalized service. Everyone is friendly and are warm inviting people who seem to love every puppy they present to you. This place has a feeling of "really upscale" without all the upscale pricing. And that is what you want. To know your in not just a get them in and get them out Pet Store. This is an experience with warm and fuzzy. The owner Cindy is one of the most lovely people ever. She doesn't try to push you into a pup. She is kind and I can tell she really cares about the health and well being of each and every pup. They even name them. The store is immaculate. The staff ( the manager Jess is awesome ) are just first class and worthy of a 5 star rating. From coming in to buy a toy , or browse ... all the way to purchasing your fur baby - this place is top notch. And I applaud Cindy for making this place what it is. I purchased a Morkie Poo last week. He is healthy and well adjusted. Thank you to the staff who patiently let my daughter and I see all different dogs without once trying to push or judge - and we came back with my husband the next night. They treated us amazingly even before we ever committed to a purchase. They are genuinely lovely people who are there for the love and quality. And I have to say I came back today to get some items and drop off a poop sample - and they wanted me to bring Tanner in. Cindy even held him. This is a woman who is truly committed to these babies even after they have gone to their fur-ever homes. I just went to look at dogs with my little sister, in hopes of potentially bringing one home. The place was DISGUSTING! Poop was in every dog pen, and it was not healthy looking poop. After four years with my Maltese - female named Mia, I'm more in love with her than ever! She came to us through Furrylicious in an happenstance way; my husband and I can't thank both Stephanie and Cindy enough, nor can we express just how special Mia is and what she means to us. I'll begin by saying don't believe the owners response, I have texts goi g back n forth to substantiate my review. I have been a customer for 3 years. I bought my dog from this establishment. I've been going every 3 months for grooming as well. The reason I will NEVER step foot in this business again, nor will I ever recommend it is simple. I called for a grooming appointment three times with NO call back. Finally I got someone on the phone telling me they never received my calls. LIE. As one was with a live person promising a call back. I was then told they had limited hours due to a maternity leave. To make this review palatable, I'll cut to the chase. An appointment was made with the store manager. I inquired if she was experienced and licensed, and this is where it became unacceptable. They said a lice ''tis not required. True. However, they canceled my apt the night before using a total lie, which Cind's text show. I'm told I asked too many questions. Let's end this with a thought. I bought a dog I love for 2 thousand dollars, and I shouldn't be asking this? Her texts, which I will show if she rebukes this were so disingenuous and not true. Yes, there are cute pups in fancy cages, but the customer service is great when your spending big money.,.nut it does end there. I just rescued another sweet girl. If you are looking for a great place for grooming, the staff at Furrylicious is top notch. We have been customers since they opened and will continue to be as long as they are around. I generally don't write many reviews, but I saw 2 reviews on here and I didn't feel they were fair. They want to insinuate this is a shop that sells puppy mill puppies and that's not the case. While they do sell puppies, they come from reputable breeders that are looking for a way to showcase their puppies. The owners also do everything they can to help people adopt out dogs that are in need of homes as well. We support puppy adoption fully, my brother and sister and neighbors all rescued great dogs. We happened to be looking for a Cavalier and they generally have specific health issues and we did a lot of research to find a reputable breeder that breeds healthy dogs that don't tend to have the mitro valve heart condition in their lineage. When we looked into a second dog, the owners of Furrylicious took the time to help us research and look for a puppy with the specific needs we were looking for. The owners of the store also own a veterinary office, so they know the importance of taking care of the dogs. Reviews are certainly an opinion and they help make your decision to go somewhere or not. Sometimes reviews are spot on, and sometimes they are completely off base. I would encourage anyone to go to the store and meet the owner and you will have a great opinion of the store and what they do. This was one of the best experiences buying a dog. The staff and owner were friendly and knowledgeable. We purchased our second dog from this store. They allowed our current dog to bond with the new one, which made our decision easier to get the dog from Furrylicuous. They care tremendously about their pets and customers. After we brought our dog home, they followed up with us to insure that he was adjusting well. They were very helpful in making themselves available to offer suggestions and tips for feeding and overall adjustment to his new home. Best grooming my dog had in her entire life! I went in on Saturday and the ladies were so lovely caring and knowledgeable about everything I wanted to know! My dog looked fabulous the groomer Vicky really did such a great job and my dog Bells can sometimes be difficult! The puppies here were to die for they are the cutest little things i will forever send my friends and family to Furrylicious I know where my next puppy is coming from! I bought my Maltese from this shop and I must say she is the best dog I ever owned. She is smart healthy and lots of fun! I kept going to the shop for my "puppy fix" but finally met the dog for me but because I couldn't have a puppy at my rental they kept her for a month until I moved into my own place. I would pick her up and take her out and when I returned her she practically leaped out of my arms because she loved being at this shop so much (which means she had really excellent care!). All the dogs in this shop are all so happy and healthy! And they are constantly keeping on top of the dogs "messes" they leave behind. How about kennel cough? Brought my dog for grooming and went back the next week because he was matted. During that two week period, developed bacteria pneumonia. When I called to discuss, was asked if my dog was vaccinated? My dogs are vaccinated, however they have never been to a kennel. Never thought they could contract kennel cough during a visit to a groomer. Boy, was I misinformed! My dog's health is most important, however after almost $ 300 dollars in grooming bills and $ 700 dollars in vet bills, Buyer Beware! The owner never followed up to see about a diagnosis. Guess ignorance is bliss? Lesson learned, never take your dog to a groomer, unless they can prove all their client's dogs have been vaccinated. My dog was several months late on the shot and this is what happened to him. I strongly suggest that you not take your pet to this facility, unless they can document that all their client's pets are incapable of spreading this potentially life threatening disease. Now, I am worried about my other dog, who has been exposed to this harmful infection. I have never posted a review on a site before but as a concerned pet owner, felt a needed to alert other pet owners. Wish I had done my homework. Just recently found this....... least twice in 2015. FURRYLICIOUS reported that it purchased from Jan Budden in Maurice, IA, after the passage of the PPPA. She quickly went over to see the pup. She fell in love. They were so gracious, attentive and informative during the few days it took to make our decision. Enormously rude and unprofessional. Upon entering, the owner instantly engaged me in a friendly manner and the first piece of "merchandise," she directed my attention to were the puppies. When I asked where they come from--hopefully not puppy mills--the owner physically pushed me out of the store as she shouted, "Oh, you're one of those!" and said to never return again. Seriously? I have moved several times since I adopted my precious dog Sparky from Furrylicious. I decided to try a grooming service closer to where I am living. I will not identify the big-box pet store, but it seemed convenient (I could make my appointment online and check off what I wanted done during the grooming) so I made the appointment. I never realized the difference in groomers. The big-box store grooming was an awful event for Sparky. He was shaking like a leaf when I came to pick him up. The groomer explained to me he was a little difficult so they could not get the hair between his paws and his ears were difficult. I had never heard this before and Sparky seemed traumatized. Needless to say, I took him back to Furrylicious for his grooming appointments.. It is a long drive for me, but it is worth it!! He is relaxed after his grooming and excited to see me, but certainly not jumpy and shaking. Sparky is perfectly groomed, including his ears and paws (both of which are troublesome for him when they have grown out too long). Furrylicious ALWAYS gives the dog a peaceful and rewarding experience. The staff is great and the groomers are terrific. I will always make the extra drive to have him groomed at Furrylicious. I will not even go back to the big-box pet store for anything. They don't care about anything but the bottom line. I tried to express my concern to a gentleman who was managing the store, but he was unconcerned and walked away. The tone is set at the top. If the manager doesn't care about servicing the customers and their pets, I guess it parallels the grooming experience. Furryliciouos is worth the drive and the time. It is good to know Sparky is being treated with care and concern. Furrylicious is there for the long-run. From birth, thoroughly checked out by excellent veterinarians, adopted into homes, stocked with healthy food and treats, along with the most adorable outfits and toys you can find anywhere for your dog.
