She played the "hematoma" card with my wife, as well, and went so far as to send her multiple texts in ALL CAPS, which scared my wife into thinking something was very wrong with our dog. She was so rattled that she called me, nearly in tears, worried that he had a serious medical issue. After being subjected to Hope's ranting and raving, we took our puppy to the veterinarian as she suggested, and they basically laughed in my wife's face and told us it was no big deal and simply trimmed his fur to address the situation. End of story. When it was time for our next appointment, we considered whether to take him to her again or to you someone else. I encouraged my wife to try Hope again. Stupid decision on my part. Although we thought it was impossible, she again sent my wife texts complaining about his matting and sending multiple pics (not sure why this was necessary because we know what our own dog looks like). The nail in the coffin was when my wife went to pick up our puppy and HOPE ACTUALLY TRIED TO HAND MY WIFE A BAG OF HIS FUR to prove how much fur she had to cut off due to the matting issue that she took such pleasure in pointing out. We will not be returning. It is not worth the mental anguish.

I have brought my dog to other boarding places before and I noticed my dog was hesitant to want to go in or would cry a lot the moment I left. The minute I pull up the driveway he already knows he is at their location and he tries to run inside because he loves it so much! The second option was the place on 1 which coats our dog in blue goo that requires 5-7 baths to remove (think toilet bowl cleaner). Jim found this place online. Upon drop off, they greet your dog, make sure she's happy. There's an option for walks in the mountains, which our dog loves. I think it's $25/day, $7/per walk in the woods. Our dog comes back smelling no worse for wear, which is shocking, as we have a crazy, anxious dog who drools if we ever try crating her at home, and subsequently smells and needs a bath (hence, we don't do it often)--here, she doesn't actually smell. At all. Note that your cell phone will not work up on Sourland Mountain, and your GPS will be slightly off--it's kind of at the top of the hill on the left side.

Bumped into this new groomer while trying to find the bagel place nearby…read more Had a chat with Kyle a couple of days ago and he sounded capable and efficient....both good descriptions of Kyle and his business. Kyle's a very experienced groomer and so I booked Oscar in...Oscar was there this morning. Oscar came out looking just as I wanted and only an hour so for a complete grooming at a very reasonable price. I advise providing a photo of how you want your dog to look... (possibly from a prior grooming...this takes the guesswork out the equation) Kyle didn't charge me for the "love bite" inflicted by Oscar :)...(I did leave Oscar's muzzle with Kyle, just in case...Oscar can get a little scared in new surroundings) No major harm done and Kyle was "hey...goes with the territory"...very nice of him ! We'll be back !... and I'm giving out Kyle's referral cards. WOOF !
