When I explained that I was following the instructions given directly by the doctor and staff, I was simply told there was nothing that could be done and that the doctor could not be contacted to correct the error. This is unacceptable. I followed the directions provided by your office in good faith, yet I was inconvenienced and left without a solution. My mother was scheduled for a hearing test and was informed that Uber transportation would be arranged for both her ride to the appointment and her return home, as I was unable to take time off work to transport her myself. The Uber successfully picked her up and brought her to the appointment. However, after the appointment, an office staff member informed my mother that they were unable to arrange transportation for her return home. This was especially concerning because she had already received a text confirmation clearly indicating that transportation would be provided both to and from the appointment. While my mother was waiting for the Uber that I ultimately had to arrange myself, she called me extremely upset and explained that two office staff members were talking about her and laughing. This type of behavior is completely unacceptable and deeply unprofessional. Elderly patients deserve to be treated with dignity, compassion, patience, and respect at all times. If individuals are unable to show empathy and understanding toward elderly patients, they should not be working in an environment that requires direct patient care and interaction.
