When I cancelled, that fee was deducted from my refundable membership deposit. The club later pointed to bylaw language allowing legal-counsel-related fees to be assessed without a member vote, which may be permitted under their rules, but I found the overall handling and communication disappointing. In my view, prospective members should understand that membership may involve additional assessments beyond the regular dues, including legal-fee assessments, and should ask for the current bylaws and any pending assessment information before signing up.

The club has a large pool, jacuzzi, tennis / pickleball courts, tables that are first come first served in shade, patches of grass where you could lay your towel out, and areas where you could reserve -- gazebo or BBQ areas. Overall, great place for those with kids. The place is very family oriented and seems like everyone who's there knows everyone. Great spot for birthday parties and other holiday celebrations. It's too bad that the marketplace that was within walking distance had that terrible fire accident. People have said that it was a go-to spot whenever they came to the club. I started training downstairs in the Performance Training office with Allie a couple years ago and am so glad that I did. Allie has tailored our training sessions and my home workouts to whatever I've needed, which has varied a lot since I started working with her. I've dealt with medical conditions and new injuries that have required us to make adjustments, and she has never had a problem coming up with ways to continue working toward my goals. She is perceptive, thoughtful, and always a pleasure to work with. I'm now back to running and playing soccer, and even though I'm several years older than when I last did those things regularly, I feel more confident in my ability to avoid major injuries and recover from the inevitable small ones thanks to the work I've been doing with Allie. The other trainers and staff seem great as well, and everyone here seems to have good attitudes and senses of humor. I think they all have different specialties and I would gladly work with any of them, though Allie is the best. It's a great place to train, the atmosphere is fun and they will push you and guide you in all the right ways.

To me, the Oakland Roots home kits are some of the most beautiful and amazing in all of sports, not just soccer or futbol. Though success has mostly eluded the team on the pitch, especially in the USL Western Conference, this doesn't make their games any less entertaining. I would venture to say that the Roots fan base and those in home attendance are some of the most fervent, also across sports leagues. The Roots have taken over the Coliseum since the departures of both the NFL's Raiders and MLB's A's. Though tremendously sad to see those teams go, this relocation of the Roots to this legendary venue is also wonderful, as it fills the space but also the needs of the Oakland sports fans. I would love to see a game in person. Maybe, hopefully, one day I will. Until then, I'll continue to watch from afar and hope that their online shop prices will come down significantly.
