When my husband and I left the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, we needed a ride to our hotel. I had considered using my phone to request a ride from Uber or Lyft, but I noticed several taxis waiting nearby, so I decided to use the first taxi, which said "Sunshine" on the side. The taxi driver helped my husband and me to put our two suitcases in the back of the van. My husband and I used one door to climb into the back seat. The driver began to drive away, but I noticed that my seatbelt was stuck inside the other door, so we repeatedly asked the driver to stop driving. He stopped driving, and he opened the door so I could pull the seatbelt out. The driver did not wear his seatbelt. The interior of the van looked like it had a worn condition, particularly for the seats and seatbelts. According to my Google Maps app on my cell phone, this driver drove us directly to our hotel. He did not take any meandering route. At the hotel, he removed our suitcases from the back of his vehicle. According to the screen inside the van, the cost for the ride was $19-something (I forget the exact cents), but the driver told us outside that the cost was $20-something. My husband did not want to use the credit-card machine inside the vehicle, because he felt concerned about skimming. He had only 20-dollar bills, and he did not want to give over a 100% tip, so he asked the driver for a $10 bill in change. The driver made a face but did hand over the $10 in change. I think that a $10 tip for a $19-something ride is a good tip, so I would have preferred that the driver not make a face.

She yelled at me few times and whenever I asked her questions she would make me feel guilty and stupid for asking a question because she would get irritated and passive aggressive. Second l didn't feel welcome from the second I got there and she made me feel uncomfortable. When you're in so much pain and vulnerable you want your caregiver to be kind and gentle instead I got stanky attitude and passive aggression which affected my emotional state. In addition, there were two men in the house which made feel unsafe. I had to cover myself to go to the bathroom because of two stranger men in the house which I was never informed. I felt very dismissed when Bessi was in some man's room for hours laughing as I heard it from upstairs ignored be for hours the first day of my surgery. THERE IS NO 24/7 SERVICE. Nobody cleaned my room daily instead she told me where to throw my diapers. I never felt like she cared. Another thing she would constantly record me, even when I was topless by saying it's for me. never asked for permission to record me. In the website there is a fancy menu, I thought I could order something, but in reality she will cook what she wants. She does the cooking, the cleaning and the massage that she offers for $100 which she only does for 15 minutes because it's " enough" . Besides all disappointments I will give credits to the house and location is great and she cooks decent and your basic needs will be met. However, If you are used to be respected and you have common sense and boundaries than you will be gaslighted, psychologically abused and disappointed . House is pretty but I felt incredibly uncomfortable, ignored and unsafe. I would rate this experience 4 out of 10. I hope Bessi will improve her customer service skills and practice patience, emotional intelligence and empathy.

I stayed at Bessi Recovery Home from the 24th-28th and paid $2,550 for her "all-inclusive" package,…read moreincluding the highest-tier room. I booked based on recommendations and what was presented online, but what I experienced was completely different. Upon arrival, she informed me she was the only one working -- no assistants, no staff -- despite her page presenting the image of a staffed recovery home. That was misleading from the start. I paid for the highest room, which was supposed to be private. However, at night I could hear her coming through a connected door and using the bathroom inside my room -- the same bathroom I paid extra for. That felt invasive and dishonest. The house is located about 1 hour and 30 minutes from the surgery center. Transportation was included in the all-inclusive package. Yet before my post-op appointment, she tried to scare me by saying she didn't know how I would get there because her "staff said no" and she had another client coming. No other client ever arrived. It was clear she simply did not want to take me. She eventually "found someone" to drive me, but I had to pay an extra $250 out of pocket to a man for transportation that was supposed to be included. One day I felt lightheaded and asked for my vitals to be checked. She told me I "needed a reason" to have my vitals checked. As a post-op patient, checking vitals should not require justification. She barely checked on me and justified it by saying I was "walking better than others." I constantly had to call and text her for help instead of being proactively monitored. There was a day I felt extremely unwell and knew something was wrong. Instead of properly assessing me, she suggested I take Tylenol PM on top of oxycodone with acetaminophen -- which can be dangerous due to overlapping acetaminophen and sedating ingredients. She wanted me to just sit there and tolerate the pain I was feeling. I ultimately went to the ER, where multiple issues were found. Afterward, she tried to act as if she had told me these concerns previously, which she had not. When I followed my doctor's orders -- for example, when I told her my doctor advised me to stop the oxy so I could have a bowel movement -- she caught an attitude and literally said, "Which one is more important, poop or your pain from surgery?" That statement alone shows a complete lack of understanding of post-operative care. When she drove me to the ER, she drove multiple miles over the speed limit and hit curbs along the way. I was fresh out of surgery, in pain, and vulnerable. The reckless driving made me feel unsafe and as though she did not care about my well-being. When we arrived, she didn't even want to help me out of the car. I said something about the way she was driving and her lack of assistance, and she deflected instead of taking accountability. Another incident: I woke her up out of her sleep because I was concerned about my incisions. She threw a pad on my back, not even near the incision sites. When I pointed it out, she deflected. She also claimed she didn't see certain incisions, which were clearly present. On my first day, she attempted to feed me red meat despite my dietary restrictions. When I reminded her, she tried to say I never told her -- until I pulled up the messages proving I did. On departure day, checkout was 11AM, but she wanted me at the airport three hours early, which would have forced me to leave significantly earlier without reason. This experience was not worth $2,550. The services listed were not consistently provided. I felt misled, dismissed, unsafe, and unsupported during one of the most vulnerable times of my life. I genuinely believe I deserve at least half of my money back due to the lack of care and services that were promised but not delivered. If you are considering booking here, please proceed with caution. Recovery requires professionalism, attentiveness, and compassion. That is not what I received.
