But is Hamburg really a city - probably yes and no. Hamburg is city but also one of the German Federal States. Talking about Hamburg often means both - the city itself and the State. So thinking about the city, Hamburg of course has the "Hamburg" center but also some smaller city centers in several districts. Good to know, otherwise you will miss to much of Hamburg.
