After waiting ages to place an order, I walked up to the counter to ask, thinking perhaps I was supposed to order at the counter. Even before I said anything, the waitress rolled her eyes and snapped again, telling me to wait at my table. At that point I completely lost my appetite and started leaving - which was the only time she recognized me and said bye loudly in a really condescending tone. I wouldn't even be writing this long paragraph about how terrible my experience was if she had just kept on ignoring me and my friend as she had done in th beginning instead of making that irritating snarky remark. Not sure if she was just grumpy that day or if she's just plain rude. Not sure if super unprofessional or racist. If you don't want to be serving clueless tourists (although I feel pretty justified in simply trying to catch the waiter's attention after waiting ages in a cafe that didn't even have new tables to serve besides mine), perhaps don't work in a town that relies on tourism? Completely ruined an otherwise wonderful day at Cesky Krumlov. There are plenty of lovely cafes in town - don't waste your time here.

I was here with a group to try the Linzer Torte. It was sooo good. Nothing like the ones we see in…read morethe US. This is the real deal. The O.G. It is made with a buttery hazelnut crust and currants. Not raspberries like I have always seen on the knock-offs. (Although admittedly, those are pretty good too....no harm, no foul......they just aren't really what linzer tortes really are.) Anyhow, it's a busy little shop and we had a private section upstairs to enjoy our coffee. Our guide told us to put the little chocolate in the coffee too. Even though I usually like my coffee black, I obliged. When in Rome..... My only regret is not buying one to take home with me. I heard they travel and keep very well.

Jindrak was recommended both online and by my Linz based friend so we visited it during our time in…read morethe city. Jindrak offers quality coffee. We took a cup to go (I know, very American of me). I ordered the Latte Macchiato with Oat Milk while my wife ordered a Moka (not realizing it is completely different than what she orders in America). I drank mine, and hers, and was very pleased with it. Jindrak has a large selection of baked goods. I was half heartedly checking things out when I saw a chocolate and strawberry pastry with a little vegan flag stuck in it. Excellent addition, from my perspective, so that I didn't have to inquire about the ingredients in everything. I took a pastry to go. Loved the texture and flavor of the dessert. Jindrak's service, vegan options and coffee all make it a worthwhile visit. The lack of vegan choices (only one during our visit) is the only thing holding it back from five stars.
