No compensation...not even a cookie. The room was nice and large, but the walls are paper thin (I can hear people walking & running in the hallways) and the window doesn't block out the loud highway noise. The wifi stopped working after dinner, so I couldn't do the work I was planning to do in the evening. The bathroom only has 1 hook on the wall, which is annoying, and the a/c fan doesn't run continuously despite the thermostat saying it should. Breakfast had many of the same foods that most Express' have, but perhaps fewer than I'm accustomed to. And strangely, the small fitness room has a full rack of dumbbells but no weight bench, so good luck using those! For what I'm paying here, I expected more.

Let me first say, I'm not generally a fan of B&B's. My generalized experience has been that I feel like I'm intruding on all of the stuffed animals that have taken up residence in a bedroom. Being a man, I generally feel out of place and confused about where to sit, and what exactly I'm allowed to touch. In the case of the Cambridge House, I actually feel like I'm at home. The house is beautifully appointed and recently renovated, so it has all of the charm of the 1916 Craftsman that it is, without all of the pains of scalding water and creaking walls that I've come to expect from older homes. There are many cozy nooks in the house and finding a nice place to read a book is a true pleasure. Breakfast is prompt, tasty, and simple and the proprietor, Sheila, is a gem. It has some nice modern conveniences like free WiFi that make it easy for me to get work done while up visiting family. There are five lovely rooms, some pictures of which I have posted here. The rates are ridiculously reasonable. In short, if you're in this part of the world, this is the only place worth staying within 100 miles. We've been coming up here for almost ten years to visit family and we've tried every hotel and B&B within that distance. This is without a doubt the finest accommodation in the area, and is in a beautiful setting with some nice walks in all directions. Highly recommend anyone traveling through, or looking to get away for a quiet weekend. You won't regret it!

While this older motel was generally very clean, it wasn't terribly comfortable…read more It had an ice machine near the office, however, it didn't include any kind of scoop so anyone getting ice had to use their hands, which, particularly in this day and age, isn't terribly sanitary. The room shower was frankly coffin sized, and it showed a lot of old dark mold around the bottom border of the shower and in the corners where the sheetrocked walls met. The corners were covered by some kind of thick tape/adhesive plastic that was peeling away from the walls & you could see the old dark mold behind it as well. The bed was clearly past its prime given how bouncy it was & the little crater you sank into in the middle, and it made for a pretty crappy night's sleep. It was matched by the blackout curtains whose blackout backing was ripped away in places. Outlets in the lamp pulled out when you pulled out the plug of whatever you were charging. The app I found it in showed a rating of 7.9. I think that was an overblown number. Pluses: * The staff seemed kind and friendly. * The air conditioning worked very well. * The neighborhood was decent. * It really was very clean aside from the shower. * The outside parking area was very nice.

This is a great stop on a beautiful drive through what feels like back roads Oregon. The country is just gorgeous. And this cafe is the perfect stop for good eating (HUGE servings) and to take a peak at all the local merchants showcasing their talents from cities, antiques, jewelry, candles, etc. Must stop! The appliances (coffee maker, microwave, fridge and large tv) were in perfect working order, ultra clean and like new. Bed was comfy! Outside facilities was extra clean and maintained as well, with cute little table and chairs areas, flowers and lawn. Staff is super helpful, warm and welcoming. I even found a handwritten welcome note in my room, along with mints from a local candy shop. Hard to believe this is a budget motel! I had an absolutely perfect stay that far exceeded my expectations. I make this trip twice a year through Weiser, and I will now be staying here every time!

Older motel that is taken care of, nice to have outside door entrance and back your car up to your door to park.Dog friendly and has pet area with grass. We stayed here 1 night on 2 week road trip and State Sreet Motel and one other motel were the Best on our road trip, both were older motels. We even stayed at a best Western 200 dollars a night on this road trip and beds and towels were far better at State Sreet Motel. We will return in the future on a road trip. Thanks Jeff and Anna
