Stay: December 2024…read more This is the third time I've stayed at the Trailhead in Midvale, ID, and it will also be the last. The first two times it was a pleasant stay, perfect for large family gatherings. This time there is a noticeable difference in the quality of the space. There were wet towels left in the washing machine, so many stains on the carpet that I didn't feel comfortable walking around without shoes (I did, as that is requested, and the bottoms of my socks turned brown after the first night), and there were mouse droppings in all of the kitchen utensil drawers. When I called the owner to explain, she sent her housekeeper over to clean up, after I'd already rewashed and dried the towels and washed half of the utensils. The housekeeper did a good job cleaning the rest and disinfecting the drawers, however mouse droppings and old crumbs in the drawers, and the towels should have been taken care of before checkin. In addition, after the housekeeper left I found stains on the kitchen wall and baseboards that could either be food flung on the wall or vomit. I spent over $300 per night for this place and expected higher quality. It would be a much better value to drive 8 more miles north to Cambridge and stay at the motel there. If you still decide to stay here, make sure to bring your own shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and paper towels, as none of those things are provided.

She quickly cleaned the room and even brought sheets from her own house since they were at full capacity and had not done laundry yet. She made sure the girls were safe and even arranged for someone to follow her back to Weiser to get her tire changed. Thanks for taking such good care of my girls and providing the best customer service we've had in a long time. The room was clean and safe and we so appreciate it!!

The Mundo Hot Spring Debacle…read more Nancy has been wanting to visit Mundo Hot Spring for quite some time so she got us a reservation several weeks in advance for Oct. 15. She reserved a small cabin with a private tub and a privacy fence. Check in was 4 p.m. and check out at 11 a.m. Nancy said there was a cafe and we'd eat there. We got there and we were showed around. It was a nice looking place. There was a microwave, a small refrigerator and a small heater. We got into bathing suits and into the hot tub we went. It was pleasant enough. When we got out I went across the street looking for food and came away with some very overpriced snacks. Nancy said there was a restaurant and left to go get a menu. It wasn't quite a restaurant not even a cafe. She came back with a menu for Turkey, Beef or some other kind of sandwich and a chef's salad. Pretty piss poor pickings. I had beef she had turkey. I could have made a dozen sandwiches in the time it took to get two. They were mediocre at best. We filled our bellies and bedded down for the night. About midnight, I got up to turn on the heat, no joy, the damned thing didn't work. At 3 a.m. we were both freezing. I plugged the heater into every electrical outlet in the place - - nada. By 6 a.m. we'd had enough. I started to truck to warmup while we gathered our things. Heated seats were never so good as they were that morning. We made a quick stop at Dutch Brothers for coffee and arrived home a little after 8 a.m. Nancy called the hot springs and was given a "We're sorry to hear that." No offer for a day pass. No offer for a free night - - nothing. So we had a reservation, waited weeks to go, and for all of the trouble of freezing our butts off, we got a "We're sorry." That's about as close to "We got your money and you can screw off" without actually coming out and saying it. That was Thursday morning. Nancy said she thought the lady she dealt with, after having some time to think about it, would come around to make it good. So this morning, Monday, I asked her if she had heard anything - - Nada! There was a time when no business would risk their reputation on such shoddy public relations. I guess that time has long passed. Take a Hard Pass on Mundo Hot Spring.

One clue as to the authenticity of…read morethe four one-star reviews is that the four reviewers have a grand total of 21 reviews, an average of seven apiece. One has only one review, another has four. Not very prolific for Yelp users. We brought our camper trailer to Mundo for a Thanksgiving weekend trip. Because it was late in the year, we knew they wouldn't have water or wastewater hookups. All we needed was an electric plugin, which worked fine. The hot springs pool was well-maintained and the warm water was refreshing. Employees came by frequently to ensure the water temperature remained within acceptable levels. The staff was friendly and they even refunded our hot springs fee for the final day, after we decided to leave a bit early because the forecast called for a snow storm before we had planned to leave to go home to Boise. We're glad Mundo is near an entry point for the Weiser River Trail, an 84-mile former railroad path between Weiser and Council. We plan to return in the summer to ride the trail.

This is a 5 star+ hotel quality resort, but even nicer. More amenities than a 5 star hotel and everything is so luxurious and clearly professionally designed by a talented interior designer. There nothing like this in Boise. Even using the Airbnb Plus search function it's hard to find properties of this caliber and high end design. The owners are extremely attentive and ensured everything was perfect for our weekend stay. Easy self check in, abundance of supplies and organic products in the kitchen, and bathrooms. Flat screen smart TV's in the rooms, fully loaded with complimentary Netflix, Hulu, Disney Plus and ESPN. Nespresso coffee machine made amazing lattes and espressos! My favorites, well I like them all but if I had to choose I might pick Lake Terrace because of the lovely view on the back patio and if you golf you're in luck. There is a golf course near the unit. I love #2 as well it's great if you have a larger group. All of the trailers have everything you need from a blender (wink, wink) to a barbeque. The décor well, the name says it all lol. Christmas trees, beer cans, Uncle Billy Bob's brief case (Tighty whities with a handle.) It's all decked out and we love it! I could write a book about how wonderful it is while visiting there. It's very odd and unprofessional. Do not stay here unless you have your own RV. It's gross and she will ask for more money later to do the laundry that they should always do no mattet what.
