We have had so many friends migrate to him and they are loyal to him. Just had our 2019 taxes done with him tonight. Happy with the results to come, as always. I have had my taxes done in the past by Deloitte, Jackson Hewitt, H&R and have even done them myself on TurboTax for a few years. That is until I took my TurboTax returns that I had filled out myself back in 2017, though not yet submitted to give to Patrick to see if he was able to get me back an additional amount more, he was able to get back a decent amount more, all the while staying conservative, per my request. I had promised him I would switch to him if he could get me more than I could on my own. He delivered. Patrick's always the friendliest, amenable, positive, easy going, honest and most trustworthy accountant I have ever met. He's been doing my taxes ever since. He's always straight forward, will tell you what documents he needs, is very clear and succinct about the taxable amounts, applicable deductions. Before he has you sign the form to send for federal and state taxes, he will run through the form and explain any questions that might come up. He does it so quick, makes me think he could do it in his sleep, he's so amazingly fast. Then again he does this daily and does as many as 10 a day. He is a hard worker, knows his stuff and it shows. Patrick is surely to become your best friend. He will even help educate you amid and along your tax process. He's clear about his forms of payments: checks or credit cards are accepted. He will explain the rates before or afterwards, your preference. It will feel like a good friend is handling your taxes. First off, let me start out by saying I don't even live in Michigan, but I am downright pleased and…read moreimpressed with the professionalism I received from this H&R Block's manager, TJ! Let me spin you a little tale of how we met--my taxes were filed in California incorrectly and the tax preparer showed no remorse or desire to help me rectify the situation. I called H&R customer service to let them know of the poor service I received and they said the California store manager would be in touch soon...somehow someone's wires got crossed and TJ (an H&R Manager in MICHIGAN) called me back confused as to why my complaint was routed to her store. Nonetheless, I was also confused because the H&R Headquarters isn't even in Michigan. Anyway, fast forward to my conversation with TJ, she was SO NICE, respectful and very personable. She apologized multiple times for an issue that didn't even involve her or her store *that's more than my California tax preparer did*! She took the time to listen to my story and told me she would run it up to her district manager. Again, I'm just so impressed with how TJ handled an escalation that she could have easily hung up on me for or said, "That's not my problem, I don't even live in that state, etc etc."But she didn't! She really DID tell her District Manager and followed up with me a week later about the situation...which again, HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HER!!! Honestly, 5 stars for her amazing customer service and lovely personality. I feel like if I lived in Michigan, I'd be friends with her. So yes, if TJ is managing this store, I'm confident in saying she (and probably her employees too) are going to take care of you! Ok, I'm not going to lie. Despite my very social job I'm a bit of an introvert. Add to that that I…read morealso get anxious about taxes and anything financial related and I get VERY stressed about my yearly tax meeting. In the past, AFS and my accountant Lynne have made the process pretty smooth so my anxiety is definitely not on them. It's totally my own hang up. And because they were so great, I thought the process was as good as it could get for me. UNTIL THIS YEAR! My friends, they have introduced their online portal. I was able to easily (and securely!) upload all my documents, send any notes over via messaging, and a week later my return was processed and e-filed for me. No need for a phone call, no need for a meeting, no need to drive to their office and get sweaty palms over having to talk this stuff out with someone, no need to sign anything and scan or fax it over. It took me 20 minutes pulling all my necessary documents and uploading them and bing bang boom it was all set! I was also a straggler this year and they were able to swiftly take care of everything for me with more than a week to spare! Ha. I will say my returns are pretty easy so you may need a little more TLC and 1:1 time with your accountant but for me it was super easy. Highly, highly, recommend reaching out for next year if you need a new accountant!
