Ok, I'm not going to lie. Despite my very social job I'm a bit of an introvert. Add to that that I also get anxious about taxes and anything financial related and I get VERY stressed about my yearly tax meeting. In the past, AFS and my accountant Lynne have made the process pretty smooth so my anxiety is definitely not on them. It's totally my own hang up. And because they were so great, I thought the process was as good as it could get for me. UNTIL THIS YEAR! My friends, they have introduced their online portal. I was able to easily (and securely!) upload all my documents, send any notes over via messaging, and a week later my return was processed and e-filed for me. No need for a phone call, no need for a meeting, no need to drive to their office and get sweaty palms over having to talk this stuff out with someone, no need to sign anything and scan or fax it over. It took me 20 minutes pulling all my necessary documents and uploading them and bing bang boom it was all set! I was also a straggler this year and they were able to swiftly take care of everything for me with more than a week to spare! Ha. I will say my returns are pretty easy so you may need a little more TLC and 1:1 time with your accountant but for me it was super easy. Highly, highly, recommend reaching out for next year if you need a new accountant! read more

My experience at AFS Taxsavers was horrible. I brought my taxes in by March to be completed and they were not done until mid summer. The owner was nasty, rude and manipulative. I would not recommend this organization! H and R Block did a better job in a timely manner. read more

Do NOT use this company! The owner is EXTREMELY RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL!! They did my taxes 2 years ago and told me I could not use my property taxes. I had H&R Block do my taxes this year and they said I could certainly use my property taxes. They offered to redo the paperwork for $100 and fix the error. I chose to go back to AFS and let them do a second look and simply tell me why the difference. It's been since March 18th, they were rude when I first called in, and Dan said that I should just have whoever found the error fix it and pay for it, but then decided to let me bring it in because that's not good business. I just called Gary the owner who would not let me speak, was talking over me and giving me intricate details of the rules of taxes which I said I didn't understand that's why I paid a professional to take a second look at it and yes I had to yell over him to get him to listen to me after he interrupted me in mid-sentence. I will be picking up my paperwork today I will be paying someone else to fix AFS Tax Savers error and I will never use them again and I'm warning the public of their unprofessionalism and rudeness...THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR RETURNS! read more

Have been going the last 3 years here for my taxes and have always had a good experience. Everything is well organized they recently switched to an online option if you dont want to meet in person or drop off your paperwork which makes things even easier. The front desk always answers promptly and answers questions respectfully when your not knowledgeable about taxes. read more

I cannot say enough good things about his professional staff and the quality of the tax product that they produce. The front desk is wonderful. Well if you're looking for a good tax person don't ask Gary. He speaks down to you and when you ask questions he is short and impatient. He was not aware of the tax benefits for HSAs. Also made an appointment with the receptionist that could later not be found in the schedule when I came in! When asked to switch to a different accountant in the office, I was told that they don't want to do business with me and I should come pick up my documents. Wow, they were so rude. They sent me a tax document thru the mail with no cover letter, explanation, or the supporting documents. It should have been sent registered. They put me at risk of having my identity stolen. When I called, they were nasty. Gary, the head accountant, screamed at me and slammed off the phone. read more

Terrible experience with them. They did my taxes incorrectly, so I got audited and ended up owing additional taxes and late fees/fines. I informed them of the deadline to remedy the situation with the tax office. They said it would be no problem to fix it by then, but I heard nothing from them until I called them after the deadline. They were dismissive and rude on the phone, and told me that my questions would have to be answered by "him", but gave me no indication of who that was or how to reach him. I'd recommend steering clear of this office. There are plenty of other tax preparation offices that know what they're doing, will offer audit protection, and will treat you with respect. read more
