G & K did a significant project for us, refinishing 2 hardwood floors. Paul did an estimate with an in person visit. We had a bit of a wait until they were available for the work, but once the schedule was agreed they met it to the day. No question that it was worth the wait! Their crew was short-handed the first day, but they sent an extra worker the next day and stayed on schedule. Job was complete as agreed. Their work was great, and the rooms look like new! This project creates a lot of dust, and they put up plastic sheeting to protect the rest of the house. I had just two quotes, and their price was competitive. Only regret was that they don't move furniture... it's up to you to clear everything out. We were able to do this with help from our adult son and one of his buddies. We called G&K right after we purchased our house because we knew the hardwood floors were in rough shape. We needed someone who was knowledgeable (since this was our first house and we knew pretty much nothing about flooring.) They miraculously got us in within a few days (due to a cancellation) and walked us through everything they would need to do and the timeline. Paul was excellent and guided us on flooring stains that would fit well with the house. They got right to work. My husband and I didn't stay in the house during the renovation, but we came by everyday to view the progress. Someone was always there to answer our questions, and they seriously went above and beyond to get everything done quickly so we could move in. We recently used G&K to install some flooring in our kitchen. We chose the Congoleum Traversa Prime waterproof plank flooring and it looks fantastic, a huge upgrade over the flooring we had previously. John (the installer) was terrific. Came on time every day and worked efficiently. It wasn't an easy job as they had to move our stackable washer and dryer but they got it done, and the finished product looks great. i got a estimate to carpet my bedroom from empire and wanted to check out the price the salesman gave me and he got nasty with me said price only good while he was there so i contact g k carpet in ypsilanti and they were very helpful gave me a price it was a little higher then the empire price but the carpet was a lot better and the pad was a superior pad they ordered carpet it came in in two weeks and they sent a father and son team tim jr and tim sr to install and they did a GREAT job and cleaned up the room and made sure i was satisfied before they left a great team of installers and they did work that i would rate top of the rating score THANKS read more

If I could I would rate lower, I was reading lots of reviews about tile installation and every search I put in this company came up. There are even reviews here stating that they installed their tile floor. But , when I contacted the company for a quote they told me that "THEY DO NOT INSTALL TILE". Why would they tell me they do not and I clearly see other people who have had tile installed by them. I strongly feel that I was discriminated based on my race. Paul came out for the initial estimate and quickly provided a quote. He always followed up as promised while we were figuring out the timing. Mike and Keith did the install. I visited G & K Flooring after reading their favorable on-line reviews. I have to say that they surpassed their other reviews. This was my first time buying new carpet and I wanted to get good carpeting. I met with Glenn at his store. He asked where the carpet would be used and for my concerns. I have pets, so I'm concerned about ease in cleaning and durability. I also have asthma & allergies, so was concerned about off gassing. Glenn helped me narrow down my search to beautiful Shaw carpeting without the latex backing, and to be installed with mid-level padding. G & K's price was very reasonable. They don't hike up their prices in order to slash them to give you a false sense of savings. They come out with their best price, which was very competitive. They had to order the carpet and kept in touch with me thru every step. Prior to the installation, they rolled out the carpet at their shop to let it off-gas (so it wouldn't smell so strongly after installation). Installation was quick & the installers were very professional. It was so worth it to have them remove the old carpet, padding, and tacks. The new carpet looks amazing! I'm guessing the gentleman who came out to install my tile floor in my bathroom was contracted out by the company. He blared rock music the whole time he was working and smelled like smoke. There was a fair amount of grout left on top of some of the tiles. I'm not a flooring person, obviously, but I feel like he could have cleaned things up a little better. We recently moved from Saline to Northville to a home that needed a cosmetic over-haul. Paul and his team removed and installed 3,100 SF of hardwood and carpet for us. When we removed the ceramic tile, we discovered that the floor was not level with the carpeted areas. Paul problem-solved and arranged for the install of plywood subfloor to correct. Just had laminate floor installed in two rooms and from start to finish, G&K was fantastic! Paul did a great job explaining the types of laminate they offer without being pushy.
