My car's AC had recently started to blow hot air. I took it to the Honda Dealership in SLC in…read moreattempt to have a Honda parts warranty cover the repair or Honda customer service cover it. I was charged $200 for the diagnostic test to identify that my compressor needed to be replaced since it was overheating internally and had melted coils (had a shaft seal leak too which is under warranty with Honda but still couldn't get the diagnostic test fee waived after protesting it). Honda customer service put up a fight to cover the compressor replacement since they didn't know if the shaft seal leak or the compressor overheating internally happened first. Dealer quoted over $3,200 to fix the problem and all the parts are on back order. I called up Chuck's based on a friend's recommendation and spoke to Rocky. Right off the bat, he radiated honesty. He took the time to listen to my rambling of what I thought was wrong with my car and gave me a very fair quote compared to another shop in the South SLC area. The day I dropped my car off, I called one more time beforehand to ensure this shop would be a good fit. I spoke to Rocky again who reassured me that he didn't want the dealer's diagnostic report, the dealerships can be dishonest, and that he wanted to take a look and diagnose the problem himself to ensure he could fix my car properly. I dropped my car off within an hour after the phone call. Drop off was super smooth, I didn't need to give out a lot of personal information, and I was able to have a family member meet me at the shop to take me home. Turnaround time was about one business day. It turns out the Honda diagnosis matched Chuck's shop diagnosis but I didn't have to wait on parts to come in and the repair cost almost HALF of what the dealership quoted me. Rocky was very easy to work with and had a lot of patience with me over the phone. His quote matched what I ended up paying. I highly recommend this shop if you can have a ride set up to pick you up and drop you off to have your car worked on. Now I am ready to enjoy the summer heat with some ice cold AC! I ended up selling that car for scrap and eventually buying a new car. I brought the new car in for a pre-purchase inspection and WOW, Jessy and his team really showed their true colors on how thorough they are! They checked absolutely everything. They even checked the cabin air filter because he told me that a rodent had built a nest in it. They found things that other shops had missed. Is there such a thing as being too thorough? Jessy might be! But I'd rather have my auto shop be extremely thorough and triple check everything rather than be sloppy and miss things. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality is obvious, right down to how they require appointments for their shop. They want to make sure that every single car gets the attention it needs.
